Justin Julka joins the show and we talk about James Durand and why we think he's such a great fit and how Bob Bostad has earned our trust with his offers. We talk about the secondary and why it might be better this season with all of the transfers - Justin thinks it should be more athletic.

Next we discuss the ramifications of a 9 win season, should Badgers fans expect more? Justin and I disagree somewhat on how many wins Badger fans should expect.

Finally on Locked On Badgers, Justin and I discuss the 2023 recruiting class and why it's probably going to fall a little short. We do talk about the huge need to bring in a 2023 QB.

Wisconsin Badgers football fans are spoiled, Nebraska Cornhusker fans would kill to be us! May 10, 2022
    Show notes

Wisconsin Badgers football fans are spoiled with our consistent success, Nebraska fans would kill to be us. Also we talk about Nick Herbig, Braelon Allen and the football questions that still remain.

For the first part of the show we talk about how spoiled the Wisconsin Badgers football fan base is, how UW's consistent winning has put them in a tier above all expectations to the point that a 9-4 season is almost a disappointment.

We also talk about three remaining football questions, will the RB depth behind Braelon Allen be enough for this season and why the staff should have brought in a transfer running back. We talk about the ILBs and why its going to be so hard to replace Leo Chenel and Jack Sanborn. We finish up on the TE position and if there are any answers there.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about three areas the team will be better at next year. Firstly the coaching changes led by Bobby Engram and Bob Bostad will lead to a better offense with more consistent offensive line play. We talk about the passing game and why is should be better and more explosive with better weapons at WR and more consistent offensive line play. We also talk about the OLBs and how that unit is going to be a terror for opposing offenses.

We discuss if this is the type of target Bob Bostad is going to go after and why it makes a ton of sense. We start to break down his game and why he's a very good addition to the 2023 football class.

EVERY Wisconsin Badgers football QB since 2006 ranked, who's the worst? Where does Graham Mertz fit? May 06, 2022
    Show notes

We rank all Wisconsin Badgers football QBs since the Brett Bielema era, in other words since 2006. Who's first, who is last and where does Graham Mertz fit in.

We start with the first tier, there some bad QBs in the late 2000's for the Badgers, where do guys like Danny O'Brien, Allan Everidge and Dustin Sherer fall on the list.

We move on to the middle tier and talk about some very successful Badgers QBs, guys like Jack Coan, Joel Stave and Alex Hornibrook. All of these quarterbacks had moments of glory, but never found the consistent success. I also talk about why Joel Stave is an underrated Badger.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about the top four QBs, why Russell Wilson is the obvious choice for number one - but also why Scott Tolzien doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves.

Wisconsin Badgers football recruiting in-state HS classes in 2022 and 2023, how much talent is in the state ? How are the Badgers doing ? May 04, 2022
    Show notes

Travis Wilson from Wissportsnet jumps on the show to talk about the 2022 and 2023 in-state Wisconsin Football recruiting classes. Is there any lingering reason to worry about the the three high-level players that Wisconsin lost in the 2022 cycle?

In the first segment we discuss the recruiting losses of Billy Schrauth, Carson Hinzman and Jerry Cross and if there are lingering concerns about what that might mean. We also talk about the Wisconsin kids that the Badgers did land from the 2022 class. We talk about the differences between Gary Anderson and Paul Chryst and how they work with the in-state HS coaches.

In the second segment we talk about the 2023 in-state class, who are some interesting prospects and if this is the lightest amount of in-state talent in Travis' time covering the state of Wisconsin. I ask Travis how many scholarship players in-state will end up receiving offers from Wisconsin.

Finally on Locked On Badgers we talk about the two PWO's from the 2022 class that I absolutely love -- Luna Larson and Cam Fane... which player does Travis think has the best chance at contributing early and why did they both have light recruitments. Finally we ask Travis who was the best HS athlete in the state of Wisconsin he's ever covered ?

    Show notes

Max Klesmit a SG from Wofford transfers into the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team. We also talk about the Wisconsin football players that were drafted and look back at their recruiting rankings, where should guys like Leo Chenel and Logan Bruss have been ranked?

Max Klesmit transfers in from Wofford, I talk about why I think he's going to be the starting SG for next year's squad. I also talk about his numbers and what I like and don't like from his game from last season.

I jump into all of the Badgers draft picks and UDFAs and take a look back at where those players were ranked as recruits. We go player by player starting with Leo Chenel and Logan Bruss and talk about if they were ranked correctly as recruits. Some players get a bump and others get a slight knock.

Wisconsin Badgers football draft review, Leo Chenel will be a steal and why Badgers are undervalued. May 02, 2022
    Show notes

Justin Julka joins the show to talk through the Wisconsin Badgers football draft review, why Leo Chenel will be a steal and which Badgers players will have a good chance to stick on a roster.

We talk about Leo Chenel, Logan Bruss and Jake Ferguson. Why NFL teams are being too cute with Leo Chenel, , he's going to outplay a lot of players picked before him; we tell you why. We also talk about why the Rams seem to love Badgers players and how this helped feed into the 3rd round selection of Logan Bruss. Finally Jake Ferguson was picked in the 4th round by the Dallas Cowboys. Why he's such a solid value pickup.

We also get into the late round guys, Matt Henningsen and Faion Hicks to the Broncos in the 6th and 7th round. Why both players have a really good shot at making a roster. We talk about the Badgers UDFAs and why a guy like Scott Nelson might be able to carve our a role on an NFL roster. Justin loves Jack Sanborn and thinks he's a steal for the Chicago Bears.

Finally on Locked on Badgers we talk about next year's team and which prospect is most likely to be a first round pick - and why we agree that its probably unlikely. We look a few more years down the road and bring up Jack Nelson as the next potential first round pick from the Wisconsin football offensive line pipeline.
