Will Wisconsin Badgers football ever beat the Ohio State Buckeyes again ? Three most painful losses. May 26, 2022
    Show notes

The Wisconsin Badgers football team has last 8 straight games to the Ohio State Buckeyes and 12 of the last 13. What needs to change and how does Wisconsin close the gap ?

We start with an overview of the 'rivalry' Wisconsin has lost 8 straight and 12 of 13 and has done so in a variety of ways. Blowouts, close games, in Madison in Columbus and in Indianapolis. I talk about what its like playing against OSU and why it always feels like an uphill battle.

Next we talk about the key areas where Wisconsin needs to make up ground to close the gap with OSU. Primarily its QBs, DBs and WRs -- in other words essentially everything modern college football has moved towards. I talk about the recent WR recruiting for Wisconsin and why it has started to potentially close the gap.

Finally on Locked On Badgers; I talk about my three most painful losses to Ohio State and why many Badgers fans might disagree with my assessment. The three losses include a loss with Russell Wilson at the helm, a playoff entry thwarted by the Buckeyes and a devastating and embarrassing blowout that chased a Badgers coach out of his job.

Wisconsin Badgers football over / under 8.5 wins ? Also a closer look at the 2023 football recruiting class. May 24, 2022
    Show notes

The lines are out and Wisconsin Badgers football has a vegas over/under of 8.5 wins, do we take the over or under ? Also we look at the 2023 recruiting class and did I jump on the gun on declaring it wouldn't be strong ? Finally we take a look at the 2021 class, which players are poised to breakout this season ?

For the first segment I roll through the Badgers football schedule this upcoming season, and take a guess on the over/under of 8.5 wins set by Vegas ? I tell you why I would take the over, but also why it might be very close and come down to the final game of the year against Minnesota.

For the second segment I discuss the 2023 recruiting class, and if I jumped the gun on calling it a potential bad class from a standings perspective. I explain why I didn't jump the gun on this and despite the recent commits, the class still likely won't be very strong.

Finally on Locked on Badgers I take a closer look at the 2021 football class and which players are poised to join Braelon Allen as breakout performers from that class. I talk about the obvious one with Hunter Wholer, but also highlight four other players - two on offense and two on defense - that are also ready to blow up.

    Show notes

Wisconsin Badgers football lands another '23 commit with in-state running back Nate White jumping onboard ! We talk about his game, how he compares to Jaquez Keyes, the potential move from conference divisions and do some Q&A from our Youtube comments.

We start the show with in-state 2023 football verbal commit Nate White, Justin Julka joins the show and we talk about White's game. How his explosive ability gives him a high ceiling and how his game compares to fellow RB commit Jaquez Keyes. Will the Wisconsin offense be more able to get the explosive playmaker the ball in space ?

Next we talk about the potential news -- which seems likely -- that the Big Ten conference will do away with divisions within the next couple years. Why I've changed my mind on this topic and how it could benefit Wisconsin. Justin argues that not much will actually change and I bring up the narrative about the Big Ten West does more harm than good. We also talk about which protected rivalries we would like Wisconsin to have.

Finally on Locked on Badgers we talk through some questions and comments from the Youtube channel from long-time listeners. We talk about Graham Mertz and if his struggles are more physical or mental, we talk about the Nebraska fan-base and their Wisconsin jealously and we dive into the potential names at ILB coach -- and if a guy like Jack Cichy would make sense in that role.
