    Life’s a Fight

Life’s a Fight is a metaphor for life. It’s a mindset and philosophy that shapes how you approach the challenges in front of you.

This is a low-key, down-to-earth podcast about the ups and downs of life. We’re talking everyday challenges and the big ones, too.

Using my life and experiences as the backbone—Spanish teacher turned UFC fighter, now a professional speaker with a wife and kids—you’ll hear stories, lessons and strategies to help you keep going when you don’t think you can.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and could use some help fighting your fight, this is for you.

Hosted by former UFC fighter and teacher Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman.

*There are more than 2300 episodes of this podcast. Some of the older ones look different and have a different format.

#194 BJJ with Echelon Front at Origin USA Immersion Camp Sep 06, 2018
    Show notes

Our main man was a Maine man for a few days recently! The Spaniard flew north to the deep woods to sweat in a camp that made him think of Dirty Dancing, except this was about grappling. Specifically, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Immersion Camp, organized by Origin USA, which makes products for combat athletes. Spanny relished the chance to get up close and personal on the mats and in chats with event partners Echelon Front—Jocko, Leif, Dave, JP, Echo Charles and the two Jamies (he'll explain). It's good late-summer learning in life and business from a guy in a gi (both guy and go made in America!). LEARNING TRIP 001 SPONSORED BY FOOD SERVICE SOLUTIONS

How often have you found yourself talking to someone else while simultaneously talking to yourself? Am I saying the right thing? Are they agreeing w/ me? What are they thinking? Should I have said that? It's tough to speak straight and clearly w/o doubt, but it is the way. Today, we touch on this idea in regard to Kevin Hart's career. We also tie some recurring themes in Kevin Hart's journey thus far.

Reading Kevin Hart's book is like listening to a 365 page one man show; it's hilarious and incredibly insightful for any performer, but also invaluable for the average person who wants to communicate more effectively by being comfortable in their own skin. In today's AMX, we talk change, conviction and a mother's love (you, too, dad!).

#193 Interview: Jamie Kilstein, Comedian/Podcaster with Jiu Jitsu Roots Aug 30, 2018
    Show notes

Jamie Kilstein ground his way up from the bottom to fly high as a comedian and internet radio host, crossing paths with the likes of Conan, Dave Attell and Joe Rogan. Then he hit the bottom again. He's making his way forward with important influence from his other love, jiu jitsu, and, as he explains, is still figuring things out. You'll benefit from the discussion of both literal and figurative punches to the face. This episode touches on areas more controversial than other episodes, and the audio is patchier than normal, but it's well worth the listen.
