EP09: How to Create Opt-Ins for Your Coaching Business Apr 09, 2018
    Show notes

Hello Coaches! Welcome back to the LifeChanger Podcast. Today is going to be a great show for you, and I hope that you'll find great value in what I have to share. I'm going to be talking about creating the perfect opt-in for your coaching business, and why it is so important to build your email list. In this episode Sterling talks about the following:

    • The benefits on an email list vs only interacting on social media.
    • Why you should offer an opt-in and what a quality opt-in looks like.
    • The 3 steps to follow when creating your perfect opt-in.

Creating and maintaining an email list is so important for every business, but especially for coaching businesses. You can have on-demand access to your all your clients at the touch of a button and you actually own the rights to your own email list. Social media sites shut down tomorrow? You won't be scrambling to find all your clients because you've already got their contact information. The purpose of an opt-in is a quick win.

    Ideate

You want to give a simple set of ideas and actions to your ideal client for easy results. The purpose of an opt-in is a quick win - if you get them winning sooner, with a freebie from you, they'll want to stick with you as a paid client.

    • What are my ideal clients questions? Create your opt-ins on topics that your ideal clients consistently ask you to decide what content can be turned into a valuable freebie.
    • Title! Think of a catchy title before you work on the content of your freebie. Good titles should have a number, and outcome, and a time-frame.
    • Outline - title, intro, content (use sub-headlines) outro, call to action.

    Create

    • Calendar your content creation. Set aside 3-4 hours and create an opt-in from scratch in one sitting instead of trying to do it in small blocks.
    • Create the meat of your content first - worry about the graphics and extra tidbits later.
    • Think about what your call to action should be. Eg: follow me on social media or join my program and use an actual hotlink in your freebie so all they have to do is click to follow through.
    • Outsource the things that you don't enjoy/love doing - things like graphics and logos can be outsourced pretty easily and pretty cheap. (Fiverr or Up Work)

    Promote

    • Set up a CRM (customer resource manager) or email marketing client. (Active Campaign or Mailchimp)
    • Send a "hello, thank you, enjoy this opt-in, can't wait to hear your thoughts" welcome message
    • Set up your email marketing funnels (like Clickfunnels)
    • Share it in your bio on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Promote it on your social media pages!

EP02: Morning Routine For a 7 Figure Coach (MY morning routine) Mar 19, 2018
    Show notes

Do you ever feel like the day gets away from you or that you don't have a good handle of control on it? Go on, it's okay to admit that these things happen, and they happen to the best of us. That's why today I wanted to share with you my own morning routine and why I do the things that I do. So get comfortable, because I'm going to lay out the things that help me that I wish more coaching professionals knew about. In this episode Sterling talks about the following:

    • The importance of a good night's sleep.
    • Set yourself up for positive emotions to guide your day.
    • Take the time to focus on the big picture of where you are going and the little picture of what's next in your life.
    • Get to work! Before you check your phone or Facebook - tackle your most important action item first.

I'll walk you through my own morning routine and touch on why each of those things help me (and will also help you) have a productive day and take ownership of your life. When you start the morning off right that sets the tone for the whole rest of the day, so let me help get your mornings on track!

    • Get enough sleep - know how many hours of sleep your body needs and give it those hours.
    • Find gratitude - before you even get out of bed think of three things you are thankful for. Trust me, if you start the day off with positive emotions that will guide your day in the right direction.
    • Hydrate!
    • Journal - I have 2 journals one for my big picture and one for the little picture of what's next. Think of it as a roadmap to your destination, yeah you need to know where you're going (the big picture) but you also need to be able to use the GPS (the little picture) to help direct you there. You'll need to use both in order to make it to your destination! So write it, see it, and feel it.
    • Meditate - instead of jumping right into the projects you need to tackle today. Take a few moments more in a nonreactive state to gear you up for the day.
    • Get to WORK! Make sure to tackle your big/most important/ hard project first. Once you get it out of the way you'll feel like the rest of the day is a success!
    • Movement - finish off your morning with a reward such as a walk or yoga class. Get outside, appreciate what's around you and move your body.

Notice that I do ALL of these things before touching my phone, checking Facebook, or logging into my email. Start your day off on the right track, it might take some discipline to get you into the right headspace. That's okay, but trust me that you'll be happy you took ownership of your mornings and start enjoying more successful days overall.
