When I first saw the work this woman was doing, I was impressed and in awe of her ambition. Not only was Blanca reaching a new audience, she was doing it in a different language. For the Latin communities, MLM's are an epidemic of affinity fraud and theft by deception, so learning there was someone who was filling the gaps in the education of the movement filled me with pride. While Blanca was lucky enough to avoid joining one, she's been pitched and preyed upon too many times to count. We dive into culture, education, politics and the "deslumbrado" of the promise of living your wildest dreams.

*Content Warning* In this episode we talk about topics relating to diet culture, including disordered eating, food restriction, orthorexia and other triggering topics. Please use discretion.
To continue our education into the circle diagram that is the diet industry and MLMs, today we're talking with Jennifer DAmato, an Intuitive Eating Counselor and Body Image coach. Jen and I chat about our own experiences with some toxic diet culture firsts; being fat shamed, starting our first diets, and the food police under our own roofs. We break down some facts about the $70B+ diet industry, talk about healthy ways to look at food and what orthorexia is and what to do if you think you may have it.

MLM's and the health claims they repeat are dangerous, but often times we aren't really sure why. We place our faith and health in the hands of product reps who make illegal claims to get you to sign on the dotted line, but what could go wrong? I often get a lot of questions about the efficacy of essential oils as a natural health alternative, and so I asked my friend Kayla to come share her journey with that exact thing. As someone who has allergies to most modern medicinal solutions, Kayla was swept into the promise of essential oils being her saving grace, to the point that she was encapsulating and ingesting oils every single day.

On December 27th, 2011 a 911 call is placed at 130 Sumac Drive in Troy Missouri that starts the domino effect of one of the strangest cases of murder and fraud I've ever heard. On a recommendation, I started watching The Thing About Pam on NBC starring Renee Zellwegger and couldn't get enough. Not many fraudsters are as bold and brazen as Pam, and I knew I had to learn as much as I could to find the answers... Unfortunately it just lead to even more questions.

Hey HunBots and HunBros! Let's raise at least $25 in all 50 STATES!!! - bit.ly/mwoy2022
I know that MLMs are a HUGE thing here in the states, but I was curious what it was like other places, like the UK for example. I always see comments and questions about the more UK based MLMs like The Body Shop at Home, FM World and Inteletravel. These just aren't MLMs that I run across all that often, so I reached out to someone who would know, Charlie Harris. Charlie speaks out on social media about the problems with MLMs in the UK and most specifically Inteletravel. her former company. I had NO IDEA how the travel MLMs worked, so it was lovely to chat with Charlie and pick her brain about an MLM you guys ask me about a lot.

You may know Nick Anderson because he's all over Instagram, combining fitness education with humor and authenticity. Or maybe you know him because he married to From Huns to Humans podcast host, Danielle Bolster! Either way, Nick is a riot and brought his unique perspective to our chat, that includes his former guilt over a lonely Panera sandwich, our PopTart preferences, easy ways to get more veggies in.... You have been asking me for an episode on doTERRA, and so I reached out to Jamie and asked her to come share her experiences in the company! With her background in massage therapy, it was only a matter of time until MLM found its way in her life. doTERRA often gets a "break" in the public eye because of their clever marketing and celebrity endorsements, so I asked someone who knows better than I do to talk about the culture, what faith manipulation looks like in the "wellness" space, informed consent, canceling auto shipments, and the hard hitting question; Is doTERRA any different? Let's find out.

The amount of messages I get from people asking me what they can do to help with AntiMLM awareness is humbling. I know so many feel compelled to share, educate and scream from the rooftops about these predatory scams, but feel lost in the space and not sure where they "fit". I first met Laurie through the AntiMLM space and along the way became friends. Although Laurie and I recorded this months ago, it's still a great reminder to those finding their place in this community of amazing people. I also just want to thank her again for all of the help with the Facebook group, along with the entire AdMod team. ANGELS!

100 EPISODES! I never thought in a million years when I started Life After MLM, that I would be sharing our 100th episode! I wasn't sure how to celebrate this, so I asked fans, followers and friends to send me short voice memos about how the show had helped them in their lives after MLM. I also found some voice memos I hadn't listened to, and the callers made some awesome points and asked some important questions, so I added those too! I hope you enjoy this fun little celebration of LAMLM, and we will be bac next week with more MLM stories!
