Have you ever found yourself going down a funnel marketing rabbit hole? Clicking link after link, trying to get to the root of what this website is about? What are they selling? How do you make money? Is this a scam? Not all of them are as obvious as you would expect. So when Nikki found herself trapped in a personal development funnel scam linked to a water filter MLM, she wondered how she could have wandered so far off course.

Join Shelley and I on a walk down 1990-2000's MLM memory lane, to simpler, much more complicated times.

Remember the caller who didn't leave any contact info on the 100th episode? Well she heard the call to action, hit me up and here we are! Meet Big Mo, a woman in the midst of a spiritual awakening, who one day looked around and realized the companies she had been involved with may have been more harm than good. As a woman with autism Mo faces a lot discrimination about her disability, so when a flashy couple with the FOMO lifestyle she wanted promised they would help her every step of the way be as successful as them, she jumped at the "once in a lifetime opportunity" before ever checking for the safety net.

Sometimes after an episode airs, I get an email about it from a former member, adding more to the story or confirming the wild accusations. But the email I received after a Mary kay episode, made me SMASH that reply button faster than I ever have. After spending over 15 years in a generational Mary Kay family business, Jen wanted to share some of her own Pink Truth. We have a lovely chat about the ups and downs of running an MLM business, the fond memories coupled with new answers to long forgotten awkward moments, and the unconditional devotion of a Mary Kay husband.
Extra bonus audio including "The Six Qualities of a Mary Kay Consultant" and "Baptism in Death" on our Patreon!

One of the most vulnerable populations of people being sucked into MLM schemes are students, naรฏve, eager and looking for opportunity everywhere. That's how Ance Vanaga found herself in strange country at the age of 18, going door to door selling books for Southwestern Advantage, maybe the oldest MLM company we've found so far. Over the years of unpacking her experience, Ance started looking into the mental health side of it, and was shocked at what she discovered. So we sat down with each other and had some deep, enlightening and hilarious conversations about MLM's, cults, gaslighting and what we both went through.

What do you think of when you hear the term "Loaded Tea"? Probably brightly colored iced drinks on your social feeds with secretive ingredients, a hush hush attitude around the actual benefits, a high price tag and a lot of additional questions if you're anything like the majority of people. And so when I had the opportunity to talk to Cailee, who not only worked in a "nutrition club", but was actively working toward opening and owning her own, the questions started writing themselves. How do they work? What happens when you join? What does it take to open one? And, are they really just Herbalife recruiting centers in disguise?

Gladys is the powerhouse behind MLMExit, an account dedicated to educating the people of Latin America about the dangers of MLMs. From her early beginnings in a call center for a Time Share scam, to her consumer protection passion project in the works, she's come a long way. Not only does she educate in Spanish, but she's taken on the task of educating Brazil and tackling Portuguese. Our chat is enlightening and makes me proud of the work she is doing and the paths she is paving along the way.

*Content Warning* In this episode we talk about SA and Narcissistic Abuse, please use discretion when listening.
Have you ever experienced a narcissist? Maybe you were raised by one, controlled by one, or in love with one. Sometimes we affectionately call the relationship dynamic a "1-on-1 Cult". Unfortunately for "Tina", she checked all the boxes, and jumped from one frying pan into a brand new frying pan that included being recruited into Amway by a toxic love interest.

Have you ever seen the comment section of an MLM Horror story? There is almost always someone proclaiming "My MLM isn't like that!" And it's true. Not all MLM stories are horrors that leave you broken and empty. So when I got an email from someone who had a "typical experience" I knew I needed to talk to Bri, who was with R+F for 6 years. Bri did all the things, worked her business, watched the webinars and treated the business like a business and she still felt the need to come on the show and share what happened.
