League of Loreheads

Latest Episodes:

Yasuo May 13, 2024

Show notes

While not a favorite on the Rift (at least not in NA apparently), Yasuo is a favorite lore-wise for many League fans, and we can see why. With a ton of short stories and some genuinely cool cinematics, Yasuo works. Just...not in game. Please stop bringing him bot lane I beg you.

Thank you to Tony for joining us this episode! Unfortunately his audio cut out at some point, so we didn't get to say goodbye. Find him on our streams most Fridays and Saturdays. He plays Yasuo. Try not to judge him.

Xin Zhao May 06, 2024

Show notes

We've gone over Xin Zhao's lore quite a bit already, but it was amazing to get it all from his POV. Xin Zhao might be our favorite Demacian (it might help that he's not actually from there...)

Xerath Apr 29, 2024

Show notes

Apparently we didn't complain about Azir and Xerath enough in the Azir episode. In our defense, that was like two years ago. We're not entirely sure what Riot wants to do with these two, but we're sure hoping Azir doesn't come out of it with a redemption arc. Because ew yucky yucky.

Skarner Revisit Apr 22, 2024

Show notes

So. Skarner isn't from Shurima anymore. Neat! Unfortunately, while we are interested in some of what they've decided to do with Skarner, he's mostly just sitting around and waiting. And that's where a lot of champions end up sometimes. Give us our depressed scorpion monster trying to go out and explore the world, Riot! It's what we all can relate to right now.

Wukong Apr 15, 2024

Show notes

We already knew quite a bit about The Monkey King since we've read Master Yi, but it was still fun to revisit good ol' Wukong. And who would have guessed that his most interesting lore would come from his Judgement. Yes, you did read that correctly. Now, let it sink in real good.

Warwick Apr 08, 2024

Show notes

Warwick was cool even before his ties to Arcane, but now? MORE PLEEEEEASE! The Uncaged Wrath of Zaun has a great story and is featured in the greatest piece of entertainment Riot has created to date. And he'll be in season 2! Also Singed is great.

Volibear Apr 01, 2024

Show notes

We've gone over a lot of Volibear's stories already, but we seriously don't mind because this thunder bear is cool as heck. Ok so his motives are a little strange—Rebecca feels a little bad for making fun of him so much—but they're clear. He wants murder and really hates carrots!

Vladimir Mar 25, 2024

Show notes

Vlad had way more lore than we were expecting, and some of it might actually be canon still! He's a champion with some connections but mostly wants to be on his own, in a way that actually works for us. What doesn't work? Why is he Viego's nephew? We're very confused by this.

Viktor Mar 18, 2024

Show notes

Yet another champ that has basically no canon lore on the universe page since Arcane became canon. Riot bounced a lot of ideas around with this guy. Misunderstood madman? A complete and total villain? Jayce's boyfriend? All of the above?!

Smolder Mar 11, 2024

Show notes

Although Riot promised there would be other forms of lore for new champions, we haven't seen much evidence of that yet. We still wanted to read about Smolder and see what the heck is going on with dragons. Unfortunately, we still don't know. But we are holding out hope that the MMO is in the works, and Riot will deliver on some other lore methods in the future.
