Ep. 125: The Mind-Body Connection You Must Understand to Elevate Your Experience of Pleasure Jun 09, 2022
    Show notes

Have you ever wondered why changing your thinking is NOT making a huge difference in how you feel in your body? Like despite how much effort you make in trying to get your brain on board with the possibility of pleasure it still doesn’t seem to FEEL much different in your body?

This happens a lot. Mostly because we don’t talk about the influence that the body has on the mind. Mindset and thought work can only take us so far when it comes to the experience of pleasure.

In this episode I explain in detail how the mind influences the body and also how the body will influence the mind. And you will learn how bringing awareness to your habitual patterns will give you so much more opportunity for choice and creating the orgasmic conditions you crave.

If you want to take these concepts, apply them and start to experience a whole new world of pleasure then you have to join The Turned On Woman. In this membership you will have an opportunity to get coached by me, be part of a supportive community talking about ALL things sex/pleasure/relationships and more, plus have access to a whole library of learning, practices and guided meditations for you to feel lit up and vibrant in your sex life AND beyond.

What You’ll Learn from this Episode:

    • Where I have been and what I’ve been up to!
    • The impact your mind has on your body
    • How your body impacts your mind
    • How habitual patterns of mind AND body will show up and hold you back from pleasure

Ep. 123: 5 Steps to Creating REAL Change In Your Sex Life Sep 16, 2021
    Show notes

On this episode of the It’s My Pleasure podcast we break down 5 steps to help you create real change in your sex life.

Making REAL change is different than being half assed about it, you are saying “oh yeah, that’d be nice” you are saying “I am ready for things to be different” and mean it.

The challenge is change isn’t easy, meaning it requires effort. No it isn’t because you're lazy or you aren’t all the way committed, it simply because the brain resists making changes because it takes energy. And the brain wants to conserve as much energy as possible.

Plus its way easier staying with the familiar, even though the familiar might suck, it doesn’t require you being or doing anything differently than you are right now.

I help women make REAL changes and these are the 5 steps I recommend for anyone ready to stop messing around and wishing things were better, but actually MAKE them better.

Ep. 119: Feeling Alone in Your Sexual Struggles Aug 19, 2021
    Show notes

On this episode of It’s My Pleasure Podcast I share how isolating it can feel in our struggles with sex and pleasure. Pain and suffering are a universal experience yet when we are in the midst of challenges, especially when it comes to our sex lives, it can feel like we are on an island all alone.

In this episode, I discuss loneliness, it’s impact on our pleasure, and how we can peel back from the “otherness” so that we can connect with ourselves and create the result of being a pleasured woman.

    Topics In This Episode:

    • How sex being “taboo” to talk about can make our isolation more maginified
    • Assumptions of what “normal” looks like
    • How we “other” ourselves, and how that “otherness” keeps us from our result
    • The curse of the lone unicorn
    • Clean pain versus dirty pain

Want to ask me a question?! The first listener Q&A is underway and I want to hear from you.

Maybe you have some burning questions and you’re afraid to ask someone else. Send those questions my way! This is a safe place for you to get answers. Nothing is TMI or too taboo. All your information will be anonymous. Send your questions to team@daniellesavory.com.

Ep. 118: The Impact of Perfectionism on Your Pleasure Aug 12, 2021
    Show notes

Perfectionism and pleasure are oil and water. They don’t mix! Perfectionists set impossible standards for ourselves, and when we are unable to meet these expectations, we are in our heads and say mean things to ourselves. And this certainly is not an environment where pleasure can enter. I am a recovering perfectionist, and despite all the work I have done in this area of my life, it is still there. The key is to be able to identify those thoughts and create awareness so that we can love ourselves through it. In this episode, let’s take a deeper look at identifying those thoughts, the different areas of our lives where it can disrupt our pleasure, and what we can do about it.

    Topics In This Episode

    • Perfection is subjective
    • What would perfect even look like? Is it even realistic?
    • When perfectionism keeps you from setting goals
    • The physical impact that damaging self-talk can have on you
    • Holding on to this idea of perfect does not serve you
    • Creating a container for pleasure to thrive in
    • When we extend our perfectionism and expectations to our partners

A quick note! I am planning an upcoming Q&A episode on the podcast. If you have a question you would like for me to answer, send an email to team@daniellesavory.com and use the subject, “Podcast Q&A”. I want to assure you that these will be kept completely anonymous. This is your opportunity to ask me anything. Nothing is TMI or off-limits.

As always, it’s been my absolute pleasure to share this conversation with you about perfectionism in the world, and how it wreaks havoc on our pursuit of pleasure. Take a look at it for you. When you notice that you are berating yourself, it’s a chance to be aware, and show yourself love. Are you ready to not feel this way anymore? If you’re ready, make the decision to work on your perfectionism for the sake of your pleasure.

Ep. 117: But What If It Doesn't Work? Then What? with Leigha May Aug 05, 2021
    Show notes

On this episode of It’s My Pleasure, one of my all time favorite clients Leigha May joins me to talk about her time working with me 1:1. Growing up in an extreme conservative Christian culture Leigha had already known that there were beliefs from her upbringing holding her back in her sexuality. But having done a lot of work around healing her past already there was still this sense of, ‘I guess this is as good as it gets’. Leigha had been following me on social media and listening to the podcast for a while. She knew she had yet to create the sex life of her dreams and was beginning to question if what she wanted was possible when it came to her sexuality and relationship with her partner. There was a lot of fear of even trying this work, afraid of what it might mean about her relationship and her sexual identity. She is a life coach and had invested time in upleveling her life in other ways, and believed in the power of coaching and was hoping to create growth in this area as well. In our conversation, you’ll hear Leigha talk about what she thought the work was and that it turned out to be something completely different, and it opened her up to so much more.

I am also going to have a limited number of spots for one-on-one coaching, so if that is something you are interested in and want to know more about, please email me at: team@daniellesavory.com.

    Topics In This Episode

    • The relationship between our self-image and our pleasure
    • Long lasting effects of our upbringing, even when we think we’ve worked through it all
    • When you uplevel one area of your life, the possibilities are endless!
    • Fears and hesitations in pursuing this area of coaching
    • The difference between what she thought the main issue was, versus what it actually turned out to be
    • It’s way easier to blame our partners than to own our shit
    • Why we settle in our relationships and with our pleasure
    • Gaining a sense of understanding of her sexuality, and how it fits into her relationship

Ep. 116: How Often Should You Have Sex? Jul 29, 2021
    Show notes

When it comes to sex, how many times a week is considered “normal”? This is one of the most common questions I get in my DMs on social media. So many people want to know what is considered normal, or how often most people are having sex, so that they can use this as a way to see how they measure up. A lot of my clients come to me because they feel like they aren’t having sex enough, either for their own preference, or that of their partners, and they think that this means something about who they are as a person. In this episode, I introduce the importance of exploring our motivations behind wanting to have sex, separating any meaning from the frequency of sex sessions, and yes, I even give you a number.

The next cohort of the Better Sex in 90 Days program is starting soon! If you are someone who is unhappy with the frequency of your sex life and you are looking to make a change, I invite you to join us in the group program. This is just one of the many topics we explore in this group. Email us at: team@daniellesavory.com

    Topics In This Episode:

    • Recommendations if you’re experiencing pain during sex
    • The mind-body connection, and the relationship between our thoughts and our physical bodies
    • Physical changes you may experience when you begin to prioritize your pleasure
    • What studies show for average frequency when it comes to sex
    • There is a difference between the sex you may or may not be having, and what you are making it mean about you, your partner, and your relationship
    • Looking at quantity versus quality. Frequency doesn’t matter if it doesn’t feel good!
    • Ask yourself: why is this important to you?
    • Benefits of sex, both partnered and solo sex sessions
    • Where to start, if you aren’t at the recommended number, or if you aren’t happy with the frequency

As always it’s been my absolute pleasure to share this with you today. Remember to be grounded in love and to be open to your partners feelings. Create a safe space for them and for you to be able to talk about this topic, which can be difficult and scary. Good luck in your conversations and I can’t wait to talk with you next week.

Ep. 115: Talking To Your Partner About Sex Coaching Jul 26, 2021
    Show notes

So you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while now, and you want to take this work to the next level and it’s time to bring your partner into the conversation. Talking about pleasure and your sex life can be taboo and a bit of a minefield when bringing this up with your partner. Sex has a way of making us feel vulnerable in a way that nothing else can.

In this episode, I share with you how to bring this up with your partner, whether you are the one who wants to take this work to the next level, or, if you are wanting your partner to engage in this work. I talk about creating a safe space for both of you, conversation starters, and what a successful outcome looks like.

If you’re listening to this podcast and you’re enjoying the content I’m putting out there, I would love it if you would share, rate, and review this show! The more that you can share how this is helping you allows other women to come to this podcast and learn as well. As many of us know, this topic can be very scary and vulnerable, and the first place people go when they’re deciding to listen to something is to look at the reviews, and by sharing your ah-ha moments and how this show has helped you, it can begin to help others.
