Two big names and lead developers at Bioware have recently submitted their resignation and now everyone is wondering exactly what is up at the studio. Casey Hudson was Bioware’s General Manager and Mark Darrah was the executive producer on the next big Dragon Age game. Big games like the kind they make at Bioware are obviously made by a lot of people but with two high profile industry veterans leaving at the same has has certainly turned a few heads. Is the Anthem reboot not going smoothly? Is the next Dragon Age gonna be alright? Will there ever be another Mass Effect game? We’re pondering all these hard hitting questions and more on today’s edition of Inside Gaming Daily!

The Cyberpunk 2077 daily countdown continues and even more last gen copies of the game have gotten into the wild. Which means, CD Projekt Red had to remind everyone to be cool. They tweeted out a PSA asking streamers not to stream the game until release but some fans took issue with the warning. Regardless, looks like the PS5 and Series X versions still haven’t broken street date yet so it will be interesting to see what unravels as we get closer to launch. We’re diving into everything that went down on today’s episode of Inside Gaming Daily!

PS5 sales outpacing the Series X Dec 02, 2020

The Series X and the PS5 sales analysts don’t have a ton of concrete data yet but that’s not going to stop them from trying their damndest to estimate just how many units each next gen console has sold.

Surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch is still selling gangbusters and despite the launch of the PS5 and the Series X it still came in second place in the UK during the month of November. Now, it should be noted that there’s a major lack of supply of the new consoles and we should take all the napkin math with a grain of salt - but if these estimations and early sales data are any indication of what’s to come, the PS5 will have a significant sales lead over the new Xbox’s for at least the next year or so.

Only time will tell if Sony will have a repeat of the last hardware generation with the PS4 more than doubling sales of the Xbox One but either way we’re gonna have fun talking about it on today’s edition of Inside Gaming Daily!

Cyberpunk 2077 is just 9 days away and we can hardly believe it. It’s been a very long wait since we saw the first teaser for Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2013 but the game’s launch date is finally here and it likely won’t be delayed again.

To add to the good news CD Projekt Red is saying that the game is running ‘surprisingly well’ on last-gen base model consoles and even better on the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro. That’s good news for console gamers everywhere since it’s been so hard to get a hold of a new Series X or PS5.

All this good news and more including Keanu Reeves’s impressions of the game, right here, on today’s episode of Inside Gaming Daily!

The PS5 and Xbox Series X are still impossible to obtain and of course we have many scalpers to thank for making an already difficult task even harder. However, one group of scalpers has taken offense to the idea that some people wouldn’t be happy with their bots, practices, and general ideology.

CrepChiefNotify notably has bought upwards to 3,500 PS5’s and roughly a 1000 Xbox Series X consoles according to their own admission. Online retailers just simply are not prepared to deal with scalpers in their online marketplaces and there is little if anything Sony or Microsoft can do about it after the fact.

However, there is hope on the horizon as both Xbox boss Phil Spencer and PlayStation Chief Jim Ryan have both taken note of the large number of unhappy potential customers and fans. Will that be enough to initiate company wide policies to stop bots and scalpers? And what about the retailers? We’re giving them all the stink eye on today’s edition of Inside Gaming Daily!

It’s time to say goodbye. The PS5 and the Xbox Series X have been out for a couple weeks now but before we can put our old consoles back in their boxes and up on the shelf we need a little closure. It’s important to take a moment and process the life and games we shared together over the last 8 years and honestly this video could have easily been twice as long. Sure we played it a little fast and loose with the difference between exclusives and timed exclusives and kind of just in general but we are going through year by year to talk about some of the best highlights of the PS4 and Xbox One. Put on an old record and lets pour one out together for the last generation of video game hardware, right here on Inside Gaming Daily.

Looks like the PS5 and the Series X are still facing an onslaught of bugs and uniques issues as more people continue to get their hands on them. This time the PS5 is the one having disc issues where the drive just likes to spin up at random times and speeds. If that wasn’t enough Microsoft recently just patched out a bug that allowed hackers to access your email address simply by knowing your gamer tag. Sure, it’s all a little scary to usher in the next generation of gaming hardware with so many trials and tribulations but don’t worry. Today we are reassuring ourselves that everything is going to be alright… on Inside Gaming Daily!

Nintendo’s relationship with the grassroots community behind competitive Smash Bros. has been strained for a while now but Nintendo’s recent efforts to stop an upcoming Melee tournament may be the end of the game altogether.

The tournament organizers of The Big House 2020 received a cease & desist notice from Nintendo as a result of their use of Slippi a tool that allows PC emulated versions of Melee to be played online. Under COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, an in-person tournament would be illy advised at least and impossible at best.

With no updated version or port of Melee ever being released by Nintendo and seemingly no plans to do so in the future, tournament organizers don’t have another option to run Melee tournaments. As a result of Nintendo’s actions, a lot of pent up anger over Nintendo’s lack of support for one of the strongest esports scenes is spilling out into the public discourse.

For many years Smash Bros. fans, organizers, and pros have tipped toed around their one-sided relationship with Nintendo - but that’s over now. The competitive Smash scene has overcome a lot on their own and Melee alone has ‘died’ and been reborn multiple times. We’d be surprised if they don’t manage to overcome this somehow as well.
