The PS5 and the Xbox Series X were released a little over a month ago and the consoles wars will never ever die - so now it’s time to put them head to head and talk about which one had the better launch.

While the PS5’s offerings of a new controller experience, Miles Morales, and Demon’s Souls are quite alluring… the sheer quantity of games in the Xbox Series X backward compatible library combined with Game Pass is undeniably cool as well.

However, the Series X and the PS5 both had some hardware and software issues right out of the gate which certainly makes one reconsider trying to be an early adopter.

Unfortunately, both the new Xbox and the new PlayStation are still incredibly tough to buy, so there hasn’t been any progress made on that front… but when you really stack them up which console had the smoother launch?

Honestly, it’s hard to say but that’s what this whole video is about! So tune in to today’s edition of Inside Gaming Daily!

*Please note we are currently on break and this video was recorded before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Be excellent to each other.

Cyberpunk 2077 has been delisted from the PlayStation Store, Microsoft has officially confirmed it will provide refunds to anyone who purchased the game, and CD Projekt Red has said they will refund retail copies of the game at their own expense.

The onslaught of Cyberpunk 2077 drama continues to pour in and Sony removing the game from the PlayStation Store is something that will go down in a blaze of video game history infamy. Some versions of the game are running just fine but there’s been a massive amount of threads and personal anecdotes about Cyberpunk underperforming and crashing on the PS4 and PS5.

It’s not a great look for Sony or their newest piece of kit in the PS5 and their track record for customer support and returns hasn’t been great in the past so it’s safe to say CDPR might have earned a little bit of eyre for their latest antics.

Our hearts go out to the developers caught up in this, working rigorously trying to make things right when they were probably already crunched to get things done in the first place. Hopefully, the game gets fixed and returns to the PlayStation Store EVENTUALLY but not at the human cost it would take to accomplish such a feat over the break. Good luck to everyone affected, devs and players alike and we’ll see you in the comments.

New Twitch rules ban ‘simp,’ ‘incel,’ and ‘virgin’ Dec 18, 2020

Twitch has recently updated its terms of service and one change people seemed to have noticed right away is that the contextual use of the words ‘simp,’ ‘incel,’ and ‘virgin’ will not be permitted on the platform.

There’s been a long history of Twitch and it’s off & on approach to their terms of service as well as the enforcement of it so people haven’t missed the opportunity to take the company over its selection of these words specifically.

To make matters worse people are still upset about the massive removal of Twitch vods due to a sudden update in regards to Twitch’s approach to licensed music. Thousands of videos were issued DMCA claims and promptly removed. This might have been a good opportunity to address those issues as well.

In the past Twitch hasn’t been the best about responding to claims of sexual harassment within its community so its nice to see them finally trying to tackle the issue but it’s probably going to take a lot more than a few banned words.

We’re hoping for the best on today’s edition of Inside Gaming but between the DMCA issues, the nature of harassment on the internet, and Twitch’s relationship with the military this past year we aren’t holding our breath for any immediate changes.

UK politicians vow to stop PS5 and Series X Scalpers Dec 17, 2020
    Show notes

Go to https://expressvpn.com/inside and find out how you can get 3 months free.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X have been incredibly hard to purchase since they launched in mid-November and that’s largely due to an overwhelming presence of bot equipped scalpers. We’ll, the United Nations has finally said enough is enough!

After multiple reports of thousands of PS5’s and Xbox Series X consoles being scooped up by scalpers and presumably millions of dollars being made in cold hard cash, UK politicians are motioning to address the issue of scalping altogether.

The general idea is that a new law would ultimately be passed to outlaw scalping. While that’s pretty cool any type of legislature takes a long time to process and they will have to define the difference between acceptable and unacceptable parameters for resellers of all types of products.

That means there still probably isn’t any hope for those of us without PS5’s and Xbox Series X consoles, scoring one in the near future... but don’t worry about that now! Were imagining a better future on today's episode of Inside Gaming Daily!

Cyberpunk 2077 continues to have a tumultuous launch window as noted by fan backlash, an apology from the developers, and a daily discourse around the game’s quality that has the industry in an uproar.

CD Projekt Red had an emergency investor meeting this week assumingly to smooth out some of the launch wrinkles the company has been dealing with ever since Cyberpunk 2077 launched last week.

While PC gaming rigs and the Xbox Series X continue to run Cyberpunk fairly well there are still a number of issues with the game which CDPR is hoping to address. Of course, last-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One have seen a “hotfix” since launch but according to CDPR there is still a lot of work to be done for Cyberpunk to reach what fans might consider an acceptable bar of quality.

The uproar from the games community and the issues present have lead to some reviewers reducing the games review score and aggregate sites are even posting warnings about the disparity between the different versions of Cyberpunk 2077.

It’s a lot… but don’t worry. On today’s episode of Inside Gaming Daily we’re going to recap and catch you up with everything going on with Cyberpunk 2077.

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride packed with bugs, deceit, and upset customers. Earlier yesterday CD Projekt Red issued an apology and is offering help with refunds.

PC, Series X, and PS5 owners of Cyberpunk have all reported a number of bugs and performance issues but despite those issues and all the troubles with the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game - Cyberpunk 2077 has sold millions of copies and is breaking records for singleplayer game views on Twitch.

It’s safe to say people are fairly upset even if there is a good game under all the issues. To complicate things, CD Projekt Red knowingly shipped versions of Cyberpunk 2077 that were below an average bar of quality.

Everything leading up to this point certainly makes CD Projekt Red’s apology and gesture towards refunds ring a little bit hollow - but what do you think? Let us know in the comments below, on today’s edition of Inside Gaming Daily!

The Game Awards has come a long way since the days of Spike TV and this year’s event certainly wasn’t lacking in the game reveals department. Sure there’s criticisms about how much time is spent on awards and celebrating developers versus the amount of time spent hyping up the WORLD EXCLUSIVES… but did you see that new Mass Effect trailer? In a year where we had to forgo events like E3 and PAX, The Game Awards actually brought some of that big stage magic back to 2020. Oh, you were too busy to catch it all? Cyberpunk is broken on PS4 & Xbox One Dec 11, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out! However, it is wildly janky across all its launch platforms including the Series X and PS5... but it’s particularly buggy on last gen consoles like the PS4 and the Xbox One.

Of course there were a few indicators leading up to launch that the game would have some bugs and after all CD Projekt Red did officially delay the game three times. Only PC copies of the game were sent out to reviewers and some were even told they can’t use their own footage of the game in embargo compliant reviews.

Now that the general gaming public has finally gotten their copies of the game it’s become really clear why. Cyberpunk 2077 is really, really broken on consoles. Some players reported sub 20 frames per second as well just an extreme level of open world jank.

Join us on today’s edition of Inside Gaming as we start the countdown to the next Cyberpunk 2077 patch and take a look at just how big the flames are on this long awaited launch day.

Cyberpunk 2077 is more broken than we initially could have guessed and some of the issues in the game may even be hazardous to your health. CD Projekt Red says fixes are on the way but will the day one patch do enough?

More specifically, reviewers have reported an unskippable section of Cyberpunk 2077 that could be incredibly dangerous for those prone to epelptic episodes. Other issues include a variety open world jank with critics claiming they didn’t get through a single quest without one bug popping up or another.

Certainly, CD Project Red delaying the game three times and releasing review copies exclusively on PC was some indication that launch would be a little rough but only time will tell if the versions running on Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4 will fare any better.

So start deleting all those old games and join us on today’s episode of Inside Gaming Daily as we make room on our collective harddrives for what’s sure to be an enormous day one patch for Cyberpunk 2077.
