I'll Call You Right Back #157 - Pat Deivernois Apr 01, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Pat Deivernois to talk about his 7 month adventure hiking the entire 2,200 Mile Appalachian Trail. This is a feat that many set out to accomplish but only one in four people finish. Patrick is an animal to say the least. In this episode, we talk about physical preparations, mindset throughout, food, the types of gear used, how he became a viral meme immediately finishing his journey, his next (and longer adventure) and so much more. I LOVED talking with Patrick. The whole conversation was insanely motivating. I know you're going to love it as much as I did. Thanks for listening. Enjoy it!

I'll Call You Right Back #156 - Turner's Mar 25, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down and have another great conversation with the one and only, Turner Dairy Farms. Besides being the creators of the greatest Iced Tea ever, Turner Dairy Farms has been providing milk and other dairy related goods to the community for over 90 years now. Steve Turner is the head of marketing and the great grandchild of the Founder, Charles Turner. This week, he and I talk about everything from the ways the dairy industry was impacted during the pandemic, to the collaborations they have done and have coming up, to the stellar "Good Fuckin Iced Tea" rating Dave Portnoy gave them in the Mineo's 'One Bite' video. As someone who has grew up on the Premium Iced Tea, I am honored to be able to say that my podcast is sponsored by Turners for over a year now. I'm proud to be Fueled By Turners and I'm excited to drop this episode. I know you're going to love it. Thanks for listening. Enjoy it!

I'll Call You Right Back #155 - Beedie & Billy Hoyle Mar 18, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with the World Tag Team Champions, Beedie & Billy Hoyle. These two guys are exceptional at what they do. Beedie is a fantastic lyricist and Billy Hoyle is an incredibly talented producer. Both are respected throughout the city for their abilities. They finally gave the people what they wanted, and TODAY, along with this episode, they drop their first collaborative project, BEAT BULLY HOYLE. This week, we talk about the process of their new project and how it came to be. I was able to listen to the entire tape right before we recorded and it was great. This was another fun conversation with two really talented people that I'm proud to call my friends. Get the tape TODAY. You absolutely will not regret it. I hope you like the episode as much as I did. Thanks for listening. Enjoy.

I'll Call You Right Back #154 - Yoli's Mar 11, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Ben Bartilson to talk about his restaurant Yoli's. Ben is someone who grew up around the same area we did. He was my brothers age and I didn't really know him or talk to him but I knew his name from my brother and his friends. Fast forward some years and I hear about this amazing restaurant from my mom and dad. Lol It was called Yoli's. I swear every time I talked to my parents they were out to eat at Yoli's. Antonette and I were convinced we needed to try it and we were sold. Every single thing we ate there was amazing. The pizza to the wings to the pasta. Just all around great food. I knew I had to get him on to tell me how he got things started. When you see someone you know doing something great it just makes me want to hear about how they made it happen. This week, Ben and I talk about everything from why he started to cook to a good tangent about how Prince's guitar solo from 'As My Guitar Gently Weeps' is close to being the sickest live performance ever. Ben is great. I'm so happy for his success and I'm excited to drop this episode. Enjoy it!

I'll Call You Right Back #153 - Nadja, the Dawg Pt. 2 Mar 04, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with my wife Antonette to talk about a bunch of stuff. We talk about our dawg and how the first month has been going, our consultation with Success Just Clicks dog training, being new dog owners, the new ceiling @Mike Tedesco Contracting installed in the studio, more house stuff, and the furniture problems we've been having. Another great and fun episode that I know you guys will enjoy. Antonette is a fan favorite. Anytime she's on, I always get people telling me how much they enjoy hearing us chirp back and forth with each other and that makes me happy. Next week, I start back up with some in house guests and I couldn't be more excited about it. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did and thanks for listening.

I'll Call You Right Back #151 - Nadja, the Dawg Feb 11, 2021

Show notes

This week, I had a guest cancel last minute. I know. It's a bummer but shit happens. Instead of skipping an episode or doing a shitty sounding zoom interview, I'm using this week to talk about life as a new puppy owner. My wife and I rescued a pup a couple weeks ago and ever since, we have been sleeping with one eye opened. As you can probably guess, having a puppy is a massive commitment and hard work and we are both experiencing it for the first time. From crate training, to puppy biting and "teething," to pet insurance and more. I'm going to talk about my experience (or lack thereof) with it all. It's been stressful but very exciting to say the least. We are all learning together and things are getting better day by day. Once I get done with new "dog dad" talk, I answer a bunch of random questions that yinz submitted to my 'questions' box on my story. There's been some real good ones so far and I'm excited to answer them. You have til about 6pm to DM or submit yours for tonight and I'll try my best to give the best answers I can. Thanks for listening to the episode. I hope you enjoy it.

I'll Call You Right Back #150 - Kelly of STAR 100.7 Feb 04, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Kelly of STAR 100.7 to talk about life being a radio show host during a worldwide pandemic! We talk about what a day in the life of Kelly is like for her pre and post COVID. Lately, I've been wondering how radio show hosts are dealing with their "9 to 5's" while being stuck at home with spouses, newborns, pets, or whatever other factor that they have to adapt to in their workdays. This was a great episode and Kelly was super fun to talk to. I'm excited to release this one. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Thanks so much for listening as always.

I'll Call You Right Back #149 - Sarris Candies Jan 28, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with one of the most important names in the city of Pittsburgh, Sarris Candies. As a young boy with a unsatisfiable sweet tooth, the Sarris name is something I became familiar with very quickly. Their Chocolate Covered Pretzels are some of my absolute favorite things on this entire earth. This week I sit down with Athena Sarris to talk about all things chocolate! We talk about how Frank started a candy empire, what it was like growing up in a candy store, the process of expanding, the 2500lb chocolate castle, the fire of 2012, and so much more. I couldn't be more excited to cross another big name off my bucket list of legendary interviews. I am so excited to let yinz hear this episode. I hope you enjoy is as much as I did. Thanks for listening. Check out Sarris Candies -

I'll Call You Right Back #148 - Jon Quest Jan 21, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Jon Quest. I first learned who Jon was way back when I learned about the 'Varsity Squad.' Jon was the counterpart to Beedie in the well known and well respected rap duo. I used to see them at shows all the time killing shit. Jon and I have never met but I've known about him and his skills for a long time. He's a respected emcee with a great talent for vivid storytelling through his lyrics. More recently, following along with his social media, I have seen Jon start down a more spiritual path with Reiki, meditation, and yoga. As I continue to get older, the idea of health and wellness take up more thought in my mind so I'm curious to hear about Jon's spiritual journey and how he made his decision to embark on getting to know his inner self. Enjoy the episode. Thanks for listening. www.whoisquest.com
