I'll Call You Right Back #177 - Dr Lauren Blood, Veterinarian Aug 26, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Dr Lauren Blood to talk about life as a Veterinarian. As a new dog dad and all around curious person, I was on the hunt to try and find a Vet who would be a good sport and could handle my cornucopia of ignorant questions I had in my mind. Dr Blood is that good sport. She is one of the Veterinarian's who started Cranberry Veterinarian Hospital and she was a pleasure to talk to. This week, we talk about everything from what made her get into pet medicine to kibble vs raw fed to her most disgusting stories about being covered in our pets poo to why there are increasing numbers in suicide among veterinarians. This episode is honestly just so good and I can't thank Dr Blood enough for answering all my questions and going above and beyond everyday to keep our animals safe and healthy. Thanks for listening.

I'll Call You Right Back #174 - Healthy Pet Products Aug 05, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Healthy Pet Products and Healthy Pet Grooming owner, Toni Shelaske to talk about how she got her start working in the pet world, why she decided on owning her own pet store, how she acquired Healthy Pet Products, the quality of products they carry, the pro's and con's between raw fed and kibble fed dogs, and so much more. When we got our dog, my wife and I became paranoid and obsessed dog parents. We just wanted to do all the right things from the start. After countless hours of researching and YouTube rabbit holes, we had a good idea where to start. Once we walked into Healthy Pet Products, we knew that was the pet store for us. A great selection of quality products with a great staff. This is a really interesting episode. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for listening.

I'll Call You Right Back #173 - The Other Chad Medved Jul 29, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with a very special guest and his name is Chad Medved. You read that right. Chad is ANOTHER CHAD MEDVED from Pittsburgh. Over the last few years, I've had a few people ask me "Do you work at Grist House?" and I never understood why. Was there someone else trying to be me?! Finally, I searched Chad Medved on Facebook and low and behold there was in fact ANOTHER Chad Medved that did work there. I knew immediately I had to get him on the podcast and talk about what life was like growing up as another Chad Medved and I am just so happy I did. Last night, I sat down with Chad and we talked about growing up, what his bedroom looked like compared to mine, bmx, skateboarding, how he got into the beer industry, and how he got his foot in the door at Grist House. This episode is sensational. Such a fun talk. I know you're going to enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks again so much for always listening and supporting what I do. I'm so thankful to be able to have this podcast and sit down with great people doing great things in our city.

I'll Call You Right Back #170 - El Guapo / S.S.B.CLUB Jul 08, 2021

Show notes

This week, I sit down with George Adelo of El Guapo and the S.S.B.CLUB to talk all about New Mexican cuisine and how he decided to bring the authenticity of Santa Fe to Pittsburgh. George opened his restaurant 'El Guapo' in 2019. It was located in Federal Galley on the North Side and had a delicious menu with authentic New Mexican dishes revolving around the New Mexico red and green chilés. I learned that the chilés used in these dishes are the key to it all. His time at Federal Galley ended and now he is in the process of opening his own brick and mortar location for the new 'Guapo.' While George is sorting out all the details with that, he decided to start something to keep busy for the time being. The S.S.B.CLUB is an underground burrito club that sells some of the most delicious burritos straight off of Instagram. George came by and brought me one of his Carne Adovada burritos from the Super Secret Burrito Club and while he told me about his life, I scarfed one down. It was spicy and delicious and everything I wanted in a burrito and this episode was just as good. I hope you enjoy George's story as much as I did. Thanks for listening.
