Scream 4 (2011) Part 2 Jan 06, 2022

Show notes

Ready for seconds? In Part 2 of our super sized discussion on Scream 4, we are going through the iconic film beat by beat and deleted scene by deleted scene.

Expect plenty of praise for the women: Marley Shelton, Alison Brie, Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, Hayden Panettiere and, of course, Emma Roberts, who absolutely steals the show as Jill Roberts.

Plus: our reactions to the increased gore, Joe's continued disdain for Britt Robertson, Trace's fave Ghostface & Jill line readings, debates about Robbie's queerness and why this film is the gift that just keeps giving.

Scream 4 (2011) Part 1 Jan 05, 2022

Show notes

This is not f*cking Trevor, but it is a new year and that means we're covering another Scream film! To kick off our fourth year(!!!), we're finally (finally!) covering Wes Craven's Scream 4 (2011) in a discussion that proved so big we had to split it in two!

Join us as we travel back to Woodsboro to discuss the troubled production (Weinstein woes, rewrites, reshoots, etc.) before Trace's better half Ari Drew pops in to discuss the ins & outs of one of the screenplay's early drafts.

Plus: we rake some of Scream 4's harshest critics across the coals, review some of those last-minute casting changes and discuss the reappraisal that the film has seen over the past few years. Tune in for Part 2 tomorrow!

Witchboard (1986) feat. Kill By Kill Dec 29, 2021

Show notes

Turn on the Plot Broadcasting Network, grab your carpenter's hatchet and check for that secret figure 8 symbol because we're discussing Kevin Tenney's debut feature Witchboard (1986)! Joining us for the discussion are the dynamic duo of Patrick and Gena from Kill By Kill!

Join us for the rare episode in which Joe is crude and Trace is a prude as we go all in on the sexual chemistry between the film's straight male protagonists Jim (Todd Allen) and Brandon (Stephen Nichols) before lamenting Tawny Kitaen's lack of chemistry with either of them.

Plus, bizarre pregnancy symptoms, the glory that is Kathleen Wilhoite's Zarabeth and her fringe, bullet hole-riddled Ouija boards and a fun game of "Choose Your Own Deathventure"!

Batman Returns (1992) feat. Alex Hall Dec 15, 2021

Show notes

Happy holidays, Bats! We’re heading back to Gotham City to discuss Batman Kills…wait…no…Batman Cameos…wait…still not right…Batman Returns! Joining us for the conversation is Alex Hall, a film writer who specializes in queer & lesbian horror cinema!

Join us as we laud the queer-coding of Catwoman and the Penguin before trying to figure out just how this dark, campy and horny “family” movie got made (Tim Burton’s expert negotiation skills and bringing on the Heathers screenwriter probably has something to do with it).

Plus, erogenous zones blown sky high, resurrection via pussy, a nose-biting castration, Poodle Lady appreciation, a lesson in vichyssoise, and just how epic and amazing is Danny Elfman’s score? Mee-OW.
