Elvira: Mistress of the Dark (1988) feat. Jinkx Monsoon Oct 26, 2022

Show notes

Happy Halloween, everyone! Load up your leopard-print convertible because we're heading to the good, decent town of Fallwell, Massachusetts to appraise Aunt Morgana's house, book and dog in 1988's tit-filled camp classic Elvira: Mistress of the Dark! Joining us for this delightful conversation is two-time RuPaul's Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon!

Join us as we give an Elvira primer before discussing the origins of Mistress of the Dark and diving into its botched release that all but assured we'd never get an Elvira sitcom (where the fuck was Fox???). But hey, at least she's not just a great set of boobs. She's also an incredible pair of legs!

Plus, evil Russian wizards, magical rings, demonic dogs, babies born with makeup, penis snakes and the joys of a queer, feminist icon who owns her sexuality. Déjà Vu!

The Invitation (2015) Oct 19, 2022

Show notes

We're celebrating episode 200 with a five star film: Karyn Kusama's masterful The Invitation (2015).

Every aspect of this film is sheer perfection (direction, editing, score, lighting, screenplay and acting). We're obsessed with the layered and nuanced depiction of grief, Will as an unreliable protagonist, terrifying character actor John Carroll Lynch and the glorious house porn.

Plus: speculation about the after life, why Kira wins Best Girlfriend, good queer representation, as well as blow and blowjobs. Oh, and Trace ruins the film with a Claire tidbit. It's a masterclass!

Porno Queers: 'The Ring' Parody 'The Hole' (2003) Oct 18, 2022

Show notes

Explicit Content Warning - Don't let Trace's mom listen to this!

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Ring (2002), we're checking out Wash Westmoreland's gay porn parody, The Hole (2003), starring Tag Eriksson, Josh Hammer, Jason Adonis, Derec Lang, Adam Killian,T.J. Hart and Trent Atkins as Gangbang Boy.

Join us as we break down this 1 hour 50 minute (!) narrative, which features a future Bravo reality TV star, an Anthony Starr from The Boys lookalike, a "cum!" chanting bukkake scene and gently homophobic and/or hilariously satirical take-downs of gay culture and stereotypes. Plus: the soft core version and why the bisexual fantasy scene works best for us!

Chucky S02E02: 'The Sinners Are Much More Fun' Oct 13, 2022

Show notes

We're in disagreement about the second episode of S02: Trace likes how quickly things are advancing, while Joe is frustrating by the lack of Devon & Jake content. All of the "Jennifer Tilly" & Nika stuff, though? Comedy gold! And what to make of Nadine and the arrival of Glen/Glenda?
