Show notes

Greetings, Citizens! It's that time again. Welcome to Episode 64. This week we start the show off with a few Dad jokes, we get Steve's take on the Episode IX trailer and also wish for a Vader Standalone movie. A happy belated birthday is wished to Steve and to celebrate we tease about some new content that's coming your way. But what could it be?.. Theres a new trailer for The Boys that just hit. Could that have something to do with it?...

As far as what we've been watching goes, we discuss the What We Do In The Shadows series on FXX, Jordan Peele's Twilight Zone, The season 8 premiere of Game of Thrones, and we close things out with a discussion about the Netflix original series Black Summer.

Pardon the "start and stop" moments as we had a few interruptions. Not a big deal though, we assure you.

Time to press "play" and enjoy the ride. Heroes of Noise is about to bring it. 🤘🏽✊🏾

Bonus Episode - Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker Teaser Trailer Breakdown Apr 14, 2019

Show notes

Greetings, Citizens! Dan here.

I don't mean to show favoritism, but this bonus episode is for the rabid Star Wars fans that can't get enough of the just released Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker teaser trailer.

Sure it was only 2 minutes long, but that didn't stop special guest Johnny Bucks and I (Steve sat this one out) from breaking it down scene by scene. Listen in as we give our thoughts on the brand new teaser trailer.

* This was recorded just a couple of hours after the release of the trailer. It only happened because I needed to get my thoughts out immediately. Keep in mind that after a little time and MANY more viewings, my thoughts have changed on certain things and of course I have a million more questions and theories. Make no mistake that I'll address them at a later time. Take it all with a grain of salt and understand that emotions were raw and most certainly fresh. Besides, this is free and it's all out of love.

Thanks to Johnny Bucks for sitting in and getting nerdy with me when I needed it most.

Alright, people. Let's do this. Let's talk some Star Wars!

Episode 63 - The Rise of Duran Duran Pt 1 Apr 11, 2019

Show notes

Greetings Citizens! We've got something special for you this week. What happens when you give Steve Hudson a bunch of New Wave songs and he finally discovers Duran Duran? You get some SERIOUS research on his part as well as a a two part podcast series about Duran Duran. That's what happens.

This week we're going back in time to discuss the story of Duran Duran and the various hits they've had over the years.

Two things happened while recording this episode:

We had to stop recording due to uncontrollable noise outside We realized we needed more time and wouldn't be able to cover everything we wanted to in just 1 episode. That's why part 2 is coming next week. If you're curious how far we're diving in, expect us to finish up somewhere near the Wedding Album. We hope you enjoy our chat about the lads from Birmingham that rose to the top faster than they could've imagined and became a hit machine throughout the 80s. The same lads that made you want your MTV. We're shooting to get you part 2 next Wednesday.

So for now press "play" and get listening! 🤘🏽✊🏾

Episode 62 - The Joker Trailer, Shakespeare The Title, and 80s Music Revisited Apr 04, 2019

Show notes

Greeting citizens! This week we might sound a little different to you due to an audio setting glitch. Being real, it's not bad at all, but it does sound different from what you're used to hearing. That said, lets talk about this week's show.

Some of the topics covered this week:

Avengers Endgame tickets have been purchased and we couldn't be happier
IMAX vs "LieMax"
Can you contract scabies in the movie theater from cloth seats?
Steve gives us a taste of his "sexy talk"
We discuss the new "Joker" trailer, Joaquin Phoenix's and others method acting approaches
A brief Quentin Tarantino movie ranking
New Quiz called "Shakespeare The Title"

From there we finish up getting into a music discussion mostly removing around the 80s. Some of the musical acts discussed are Wham, Duran Duran, Kenny Loggins, 38 Special, Scandal, The Jets and more. We also reminisce about the old Eighth grade dances and the love songs we danced to. Warning: You will hear Dan sing.

Theres's more but it's up to you to listen to the rest. So that's it, ladies and gentlemen. Time to push "play" and enjoy another submission from ya boyz. Let's begin..

And now the formalities:

Greeting Citizens!

We have a bonus episode for you this week because we love you so goddamn much.

We watched Jordan Peele's "Us" and we knew... we just KNEW that we had to give this one it's own episode. This isn't a breakdown. This is just us trying to process the movie and giving our takes on it.

Episode 61 - Godzilla Trailer Thoughts, Shazam Sneak Preview, The Dirt, and Us Mar 28, 2019

Show notes

Greetings Citizens! Welcome to Episode 61! First off we'd like to thank everyone that was voting for us in the My Rode Cast Competition. We fought the good fight but alas...no victory. But as the great Matthew Wilder once said, "Nobody gonna beak my stride".

We went to see a sneak preview of Shazam and have quite a bit to say about that in a non spoiler discussion. Before the movie started we saw another trailer for Godzilla King of the Monsters and are now officially freaking out about the potential badassery of the upcoming movie. The Motley Crüe biopic The Dirt is now on Netflix and we give this movie some serious attention.

We ended up running out of time to really give Jordan Peele's Us the attention it deserves so even though we talk quite about quite a bit, expect a bonus episode this week where we really dive into it.

Now do your thing and push "play". It's been a whole week. Let's catch up.

Episode 57 - The End To The Trilogy Feb 27, 2019

Show notes

Greetings, citizens! First and foremost we're sorry you didn't get this episode much earlier. We recorded it on Sunday. Folks...this episode was a BITCH to put up. From technical difficulties while recording, to file problems, to computer problems...it was like it didn't want to be put out. Nevertheless, here it is. The last in the trilogy of Steve's "hangups". We wanted to call it "The Babadook Series" (you'll hear why), but that would be false advertising to any new listeners. That's just a small part of this episode though.

Here are just a few things we discuss:

Attention Deficit Order's introduction of "Duck Butter" to us.
Jason Mamoa vs Lenny Kravitz: whose got worse Duck Butter
The coolness factor of Billy Dee Williams
Listener mail / voicemail
The joy of kegeling
Catching "The Babadook"
Wedding songs
The Billy Joel concert fiasco
The fantastic weekend of Johnny Bucks
The podcast family
Steve's definition of a "quickie"

And there's plenty more. Seriously.

So for now, sit back, press "play" and enjoy the ridiculousness that is Heroes of Noise Episode 57.
