Latest Episodes:

Episode 73 - Boar, Murder Mystery, Jokoy Comin In Hot, Euphoria, I Am, and The Dead Don't Die Jun 21, 2019

Show notes

Welcome to Episode 73.

This week we beat the summer blues in this hot city by getting our minds on several things:

First off we're already talking about Halloween again and we bring bup our Halloween bugaboos. Dan's one step closer to Christopher Walken. We've got new tees for sale and we want to tell you about them. We have some unfortunate news about our upcoming The Boys podcast, but we have a very good reason for it.

Before we get into what we've watched this week, things go in an odd direction for a bit. We love bringing up old shit and it leads to a debate of sorts regarding a past conversation about Nine Inch Nails followed by another debate about past behavior. It's not a boring conversation and we learn is not afraid to "pee on a lion".

Here's what we've been watching:

Boar (Netflix) Murder Mystery (Netflix), Jokoy- Comin In Hot (Netflix), Euphoria (HBO), and The Dead Don't Die (In Theaters now).

Dan also gives a very brief review of I Am Mother, also on Netflix

We hope you enjoy this week's episode and thanks for waiting an extra day for it. Have a great weekend!

Episode 72 - Big Little Lies, The Chef Show, Good Omens, When They See Us, and Chasing Happiness Jun 13, 2019

Show notes

Ladies and gentlemen of the Heroes of Noise Community:

Welcome to Episode 72!

This week we start out with Steve's plans for a new studio. We then send many thanks to our listeners who helped us reach 14,000 downloads this past week. While this is certainly not a massive number compared to other podcasts out there, this is HUGE to us. We also give some shout-outs to the other podcasts that have been super supportive of our show. In other news, there's a Patreon page coming and we discuss a possible benefit that we'll give out to certain tiers (but more on that later).

Before we get into what we've been watching this past week we discuss the phenomenon of country rap and whether this is a new thing or simply a fad.

What we're watching:

Dan has seen the first episode of Big Little Lies Season 2 (HBO) , The Chef Show (Netflix), Good Omens (Amazon Prime), and When They See Us (Netflix).

We then get down to the main event which just so happens to be The Amazon Original Chasing Happiness, a Jonas Brothers Documentary. TBH neither one of us thought we'd have the feelings we got from this film and we get into that.

That's the show for this week. You may notice it's a few minutes shorter, but fret not. It's just how this particular episode worked out.

We hope you enjoy Episode 72 and if you do, tell someone about it. Also, a reminder that we now have the Heroes of Noise Podcast Community Facebook group and we want you to be a part of it. You can join by clicking the link below. We hope we see you there soon.

Enjoy! 🤘🏽✊🏾

Show notes

Welcome to Episode 71!

Pardon the delay but it's been a busy week with weird work schedules, graduations, and such keeping us from delivering on time. Hope everyone is doing well. Ok..lets do this.

This week we talk graduations, killer Uber drivers, and whether or not we both literally need psychological therapy. We also give some shout outs to some VIP listeners that have been extra supportive.

There's a new Heroes of Noise Podcast Community Facebook group and we'd like you to join. We also have a Heroes Of Noise Discord server that we're working on. We wanted to give our listeners a place to congregate and get to know each other. If you're listening to this podcast, you really should be there. Particularly the FB group.

As far as what we've been watching, Dan has seen the first episode of Swamp Thing and gives his opinion as well as some breaking news. He's also watched Always Be My Maybe on Netflix, as well as Godzilla King Of The Monsters. Steve and Dan discuss the first episode of Black Mirror season 5 and ponder the future. Show notes

Welcome to Episode 70!

This week's episode is special because it marks a special moment in Steve's life. We spend some time talking about his new romantic c situation and learn the detail of how they met, the first date, meeting family, etc. It's good stuff, we assure you. We also discuss Rocketman for a moment and give our thoughts on it's potential success. We also ask the question of whether or not the rock star biopics are coming out too fast.Is there a live Heroes of Noise podcast in the works? Not yet but we cover that too. Episode 69 - GOT Finale, Fleabag, See You Yesterday, Catch-22, Bonding, Kung Fury, and Chernobyl May 24, 2019

Show notes

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time once again. The Heroes of Noise have returned with Episode 69 and we appreciate your patience as we are a little tardy this week. We'd like to welcome any new listeners that came over from Scene-It Cast and Pop Culture Leftovers. We'd also like to thank the aforementioned podcasts for having us on their shows last week. We had an absolute blast. If you'd like to hear those episodes and also subscribe to a couple of great podcasts, we'll include links below.

At the top of the show we talk a little this and that and then spend some time going over listener mail. This inspires another round of "Star or Superstar" where we make the call on whether or not a particular celebrity should be considered a star or...you guessed it.. A superstar.

Here's what we've watched and talk about this week:

We spend a little time talking about the Game of Thrones series finale and although this is a quick segment, we pull no punches.
Steve has seen Fleabag and gives his first impressions on a show recommend by our friend Melissa Sloter from the Wild Pretty Things Podcast as well as the Winter Is Here Podcasts
Dan has seen See You Yesterday (Netflix), Catch-22 (Hulu),and Bonding (Netflix). He's also watched 2015's Kung Fury, a crowdfunded movie that has achieved cult status and also has a sequel coming starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Fassbender. Click the link below if you want to experience the greatness.
We both discuss HBO's Cherynobl, which tells the story of the 1986 reactor meltdown in the Ukraine.

So that's whole bunch to read. What do you say we just get to the show? Sound good? Cool, but make sure you check the rest of the info below. Talk to you next week!

Bonus Episode Cobra Kai Season 2 (Spoilers) May 09, 2019

Show notes

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Cobra Kai Season 2 has dropped on Youtube Premium and we thought there'd be no other way to celebrate it than to drop bonus episode on you.

This week Dan is Joined by Chris from Attention Deficit Order Podcast. Please forgive the first minute or so as it's a little choppy. In fact we almost lost the files for this but luckily there was a backup recording so all is well.

This is not a breakdown episode as much as it is a celebration of Cobra Kai. Listen to our thoughts on how the season went, the characters, the fighting styles, and also our predictions for Season 3.

Lastly, though it doesn't have a thing to do with Cobra Kai, we also give some quick thoughts on the newest Spiderman Far From Home trailer that dropped recently. This goes down at the 1:07 mark.

We hope you enjoy this special bonus episode and remember:

Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy

Episode 67 - Avengers: Endgame Theater Reactions, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile, and Dead To Me May 09, 2019

Show notes

Greeting Citizens! Welcome to Episode 67

This week on Heroes of Noise we start the show out listening to some Avengers: Endgame Theater Reactions (Some spoilers here if you haven't seen it). Speaking of 'Endgame', the number one movie in the world is creeping up on Avatar. It's only a matter of time now... We say goodbye to Boyz N The Hood and Poetic Justice director John Singleton (1968 - 2019), and Steve is dealing with life as his son Maj is set to graduate high school.

We had a lot of listener mail to go over as we've been slacking the past few weeks and not reading/ playing it. Because this goes on for a while we've time stamped. Lister mail starts at 1:46:28 and includes an impromptu game of "Star or Superstar" thanks to an email from Favaun.

At 2:14:53 we give you another "Old Men on New Music" . This time we're talking about K-Pop sensations BTS

When we get into what we've been watching we covert Netflix original Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile starring Zac Efron. We give our praises to another Netflix original. This time we're discussing Dead To Me starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini.

Lastly we talk about Game of Thrones S08E03 "The Long Night" and the subpar visuals that it gave us, particularly after watching 'Endgame'.

Listen to our friends' Game of Thrones podcast called "Winter Is Here". It's hosted by Michael Winkler and Melissa Sloter. Believe us when we say they spare no details in their breakdowns. You can subscribe to the show on iTunes right here

There's plenty more but we'll let you hear it for yourself. We hope you enjoy this week's show.

Carry on.
