Show notes

Welcome to Episode 139.

It was a busy week for us last week so we're getting this one out to you late. It's also going to be a shorter show this week as we truly are squeezing this one in so we can stay at least a little consistent.

Before getting into our reviews this week, we give you an update on our new website Dan built. It's now live so check it out and let us know what you think. As always we've got to do our thing so we spend some time talking about this and that. This basically equates to us playing a game where Steve tries to figure out the real lyrics to a song that sounds as if it's saying something racists. This week we did AC/DC's Highway To Hell. We then devolve the show as we discuss the effects of aging on genitalia (yes, really). Not to mention a slew of other random topics you've come to know us for getting into.

We do spend some time talking about Disney's Investor's Day that happened last week, but we put it right out there: If you want an incredibly thorough breakdown, listen to Episode 359 from our friends at Pop Culture Leftovers. Brian put work in, so give it listen.

Finally we get to our reviews:

Steve has watched "Moonbase 8", starring John C Reily and airing on Showtime. He gives his thoughts on the new series. Lastly Dan watched "Heaven's Gate: Cult Of Cults" on HBO Max and is eager to give his review.

That's pretty much the show. We'll be back soon as we're recording Episode 140, but we're also recording another Patreon episode. See how you can support us there and get some bonus content below. We'll talk to you soon. Be good.

Peace!

TENET ( SPOILERS), Greenland, Fatman, Zappa, Fatal Vows, Ghost Of War, and More. Dec 04, 2020

Show notes

Greeting, Citizens!

It's that time again. No, not Christmas time. It's time to push play and catch up with ya boys on Episode 138. We've been lagging on getting reviews out to you so this week we not only hit you with some rapid fire reviews to get you started for the weekend. We bring a few biggies to the table as well.

Before we get to that we get into some quick "Noise News" as we talk about Warner Bros simultaneously dropping their feature films on HBO Max the day they hit theaters. How long do you think they plan to do this?

As far what we've been watching, it goes like this:

Steve has watched Ghosts Of War (Netflix)

Dan talks about the 2020 documentary Zappa (VOD)

Steve gives his thoughts on Fatal Vows (Discover ID)

Dan gives some quick thoughts about Big Mouth S4 (Netflix), Run (Hulu,) and Fatman (VOD)

We really should have saved TENET for last as this is our longest review but we just couldn't wait to... Well, you'll hear.

WARNING: THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE TENET REVIEW. AS MUDDIED AS THEY ARE, THEY'RE STILL THERE. (Sorry for the CAPS, but you spoiler-sensitive people are the worst)

Finally we wrap things up as we talk about Greenland, starring Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin, coming to VOD on Dec 18th.

So that's the show, gang. We hope you enjoy it. Keep sending in those emails and voicemails as we love hearing from our listeners. We'll be back before you even know we were gone. Talk to you soon.

Peace!

How Do You Talk To An Angel? Nov 28, 2020

Show notes

Greetings, Citizens! Welcome to Episode 137.

This episode was recorded on November 24th, but we got it out a couple days late. So that will explain the turkey talk. We're just calling it like it is this week: This episode has us at our most ADD. Perhaps it was the coming holiday. Maybe we just were a little too excited. Whatever the case, it was a struggle to get to the reviews this week.

After we get through our usual banter and a shit ton of tangents about everything from having "adult talks" with your kids to disco to Steve's over pronunciation of French words and Dan's alleged love of Y.A., to Beverly Hills 90210 and The Heights (remember that one?)

In Noise News.

It's week-old news but we talk about Wonder Woman 84 dropping on HBO Max this Christmas.
Ready Player 2 is out
The band Anthrax has a new graphic Novel coming out based on their album Among The Living
Dave Chappelle has Chappelle Show removed from Netflix

Reviews:

Because we ran out of time to really dive in to what we've been watching, Dan gives some quick thoughts on finally watching Dexter (now on Netflix), He's also watched "A Teacher" (Hulu), gives some quick thoughts on "Unhinged" starring Russell Crowe (Now on VOD). Lastly, Steve and Dan have both seen "Spontaneous " (VOD) and spend some time discussing it.

That, as they say, is the show. We hope you enjoy our chaotic chatter this week. We'll be back next week with more detailed reviews. Promise. We hope you all had a safe Thanksgiving and we'll talk to you soon.

Peace!

Welcome to Episode 136

After a week off we've returned with another show that's entirely different from what we originally set out to do. We had reviews for you this week. Really..we did. But it's us, people. You know how this works. We're very excitable when it comes to the musical arts and we tend to run with the feels when they hit us. We have confidence that you can get your review fix elsewhere this week. So sit back and listen to ya boys as they get on that grown folks music.

Here's a little of what we get into this week:

More auto woes from the Hudson camp
What have you got on the lights?
The Legend Of The Connect Four Kid

The Mandalorian S2E01, His House, Mr Bungle Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo, and The Queen's Gambit Nov 09, 2020

Show notes

Greeting, Citizens!

Welcome to Episode 135. This episode was recorded on 11-6-20, which was Dan's birthday. So naturally we start the show out talking about the perils of aging and not sweating it, losing your filter, hemmoroids, being a courteous patient at the prostate exam, and "super cool" stuff like that.

We also announce the winners of the Video Palace: In Search Of The Eyeless Man giveaway

We then go through some voicemails and emails that we've been sitting on for a while. Because of one of these voicemails, we issue you, the listener, a challenge.

Steve is given a custom Battle Royale by one of our listeners and here's the bill:

Kendrick Lamar v Travis Scott v Lil Wayne v Drake

When we get into reviews it goes down like this:

Dan gives his thoughts on S2E1 of The Mandalorian
Steve reviews His House and Blood Of Zeus (both on Netflix)
Dan reviews the "new" Mr Bungle LP "Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny Demo" (Out now on Ipecac Records)
Lastly, Dan and Steve review The Queen's Gambit (Now on Netflix)

We hope you enjoy this weeks show, and you know we'll be back before you know it. Look out for a new Patreon episode coming later this week. Have a great week, kids. Stay out of trouble.

Peace!

The Haunting Of Bly Manor, No Escape, and Hatchet Oct 17, 2020

Show notes

Welcome to Episode 132!

This week we're joined by our friends Spoiler Steve and Kova from Scene-It Cast. Right off the bat we want to let you know that though it certainly would be festive, the fact that this particular episode is a "Frankenstein's Monster", at least where the audio is concerned. When it was time to put the show together it turned out that there were multiple audio issues causing entire sentences to be inaudible. The weird thing is that it was with everyone not just one person. Luckily Dan is a Type A psychopath and had 3 different recordings going at the same time. (Extra, we know. But it saved the episode).Other than that one minor issue we had a blast recording with the guys from Scene-It Cast. Great conversations with topics ranging from Coen Bros movies, to Ari Aster, and the 2017 travesty known as "Mother" starring Jennifer Lawrence.

As far as what we've watched and reviewed this week, we start with "The Haunting Of Bly Manor" (Now On Netflix). Next up we have a fun conversation / debate about the 2020 movie "No Escape" (Now On VOD). Lastly we review the 2006 Slasher movie "Hatchet" (Available on Amazon Prime Video). This one gets heated in the funnest way as the 2 Steves go head to head. It's great, really.

That there is the show, ladies and gentlemen. A fine submission for the archives if we do say so ourselves. We want to once again thank Steve and Kova for joining us and making this one fun. If you're listening the day this drops we hope you have a great weekend. We'll talk to you soon as we have a new Patreon episode as well as Episode 133 coming your way later this week. We'll let you get to it.

Peace!
