Joshua Shea talks about his porn addiction, experiences with it, and how he triumphantly recovered from it. From his youth until the present, Joshua shares his learning's on what elements may contribute to the rise of this behavior, its effects on his mental well being, and the importance of staying on your medication. He also breaks down on what misconceptions people have when dealing with it, and his opinions on how we should deal with this issue moving forward on an educational level. By the end of this episode, you will learn what porn addiction is, how to identify if you manifest this behavior, have empathy for people that are involved in it, and what to do if you or someone you know has this problem. There aren't a lot of people talking about this, so we hope you stay tuned! ~ About Joshua Shea: Joshua Shea is a father of two great kids and husband to a wonderful wife and a menagerie of cats and dogs. He lives in Central Maine, where he was born and raised. Today, he works as an author and speaker/presenter sharing his story and educating about addiction. His books about addiction can be found on his home page. He believes if we can begin to talk more about porn addiction and mental health, others may be able to address their addictions before they devolve to the unhealthy and criminal places where his hit rock bottom. This has not always been his story. For years, on the outside, people saw him as a successful magazine publisher, film festival founder and city councilor. He hid his mental health issues, pornography and alcohol addictions from the world. The end came in 2013 when he engaged a teen girl in an online chatroom, for which he later served six months in jail. That was the wake up call he needed and thankfully his Higher Power gave him the strength to fix a very broken person. Like most in recovery, he probably understands the issues better than the non-addict, but please don't misinterpret his stories, experiences, thoughts and opinions as any definitive answers. Those who attack you. Those who mock you. Those who cull you. Those who control you. Those who label you. Do they represent you? Or, do they represent themselves (in some form)? Mental Enslavement. The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought'), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding 'mind' control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of 'group-think'), but, more importantly, aid in the construction of a vehicle (a 'ship') that provides the scattered ('free thinkers') with a 'starter' new social-networking platform which allows for freedom of thought, expression, and patriotism or national pride (the feeling of love, devotion and sense of attachment to a homeland and alliance with other citizens who share the same sentiment). When 'non-dogmatic' information becomes FREE & TRANSPARENT it becomes a threat to those who attempt to control the narrative and/or the stable. When you are awake, you stand on the outside of the stable ('group-think' collective), and have 'free thought'. "Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma. When you are awake, you are able to clearly see. The choice is yours, and yours alone. Trust and put faith in yourself. You are not alone and you are not in the minority. Difficult truths will soon see the light of day.

Skye is of Japanese and Caucasian descent whose career background has centered around screen acting, where she has trained for over 15 years. Skye has called her start in adult video as "unexpected." She was a frequent co-host of adult personality Tony Batman's A! Entertainment. In 2001, Skye opened an online store (Purely Skye Designs) which featured original handcrafted jewelry and accessories. In 2013, she partnered up to start a new company, Shameless Shirts, where she designs screen printed T-shirts with explicit sayings on them. Skye identifies as a sex-positive feminist, supporting pornography. She has said in the past: "I feel that the majority of feminists, particularly conservative or radical ones have lost track of the true definition of what feminism is. It's as if they are lost in the idea that women are not sexual creatures just as men, but instead victims to sexuality in general". Skye volunteers by participating in food sorting for AIDS Project LA as well as, a meal food service at the Union Rescue Mission. After graduating from college and when her adult career is over, she plans on going to graduate school to become a marriage counselor and sex therapist. Skye is known in the adult industry for her appearance in feature titles, including movies for Wicked Pictures and Sex Z Pictures. She also had a toy modeled from her own body from Topco, an adult toy company.

Skye was featured in the 2008 movie Sex and the City, twice as an extra in Dexter, and she also appeared on Entertainment Tonight for her role as Ginger in the Gilligan's Island Adult Parody and on the Maury Povich show. In 2009, she was cast in a sizable role, playing the character "Brenda" in Pimpin' Pee Wee (a film based on the 1982 Porky's), a comedy by cult film director Brian Trenchard-Smith and, in 2011, she co-starred documentary style film Cinema Salvation.

Rick Russotti, is the producer of the Mitigation Journal Blog. Rick retired in 2009 as a Battalion Chief/Paramedic after 21 years of service in the emergency services fields. He holds Associates Degrees in Fire Protection Technology and Nursing, with a certificat in Disaster and Emergency Management from the Rochester Institute of Technology. As a young firefighter/paramedic, his interest in emergency management was sparked in 1989 watching the Loma Prieta earthquake unfold on television. Rick was captivated by the devastation and even more so by the response. From the point on, he dedicated his career to the study of large scale events... natural and man made. Having studied "terrorism" and "homeland security" long before they were popular terms, he's seen the progression (or lack thereof) of preparedness... and in 2005 started the "Mitigation Journal" in an attempt to refocus efforts back to civil preparedness. They've expanded their target audience to include health care and non-traditional responders.
