Jodi Katzin asks: “I have worked with a few business coaches and still am having trouble getting that first client! I work so hard on my posts but, with a small following and the algorithm, I don't know how many eyes are actually landing on them, so I get discouraged easily. I guess my question would be if there are ways outside of social media to get things off the ground.”

    752. Do You Have a Hidden Fear of Success? Here's How to Get Past It Jul 13, 2021
    Show notes

    • Losing friends due to success
    • What holds us back from success

    Show Notes:

Some of you might have something holding you back that you don’t even know about. It’s deeply rooted in your subconscious and it’s stopping you from achieving what you want in life. That thing is a hidden fear of success. It might sound funny at first, but it’s a very real fear that many people experience. But, how do you squash that fear when you might not even be aware it exists?

The first step to getting over a fear of success is understanding what it is. Deep down, the fear of success is usually just the sum of many micro-fears of change. How will your life change if you succeed? How will it be better — and how will it be worse? The truth is that you will lose some things when you reach your goals, even before, on your journey toward them. Friends may be jealous. Family may question your skill set. You have to weigh these against everything else you stand to gain and have gained already.

There are a few things holding you back:

    • We think that we have unspoken agreements with people that we will always stay the same. But no one stays the same. Even more, you’re not supposed to.
    • Good is the enemy of great. What often holds you back from greatness is the fear of letting go of a life that’s “good enough.”
    • Fear of more work as you become more successful.

It’s possible to work around all of these. More than fear of change, we should be afraid of staying the same. In hindsight, it will be impossible to imagine ever staying in your life the way it was. We should always be growing and adapting.

    748. How to Identify & Utilize Every Resource You Need for Your BIG Vision Jul 06, 2021
    Show notes

    • Using your network as a shortcut
    • Tapping into your network
    • Auditing your network
    • The truths about your network

    Show Notes:

All of the answers you are seeking in your business are likely already present in your network. Your network is one of the simplest and most powerful things you can tap into – and you’re not getting enough out of it.

When you run into a problem that you don’t have the answer to on your own, start asking yourself: “Who do I know that might know about this?” If no one comes to mind immediately, dig a little deeper: “Who do I know who I don’t know what they do?” Of all the people in your network, you probably don’t know exactly what skills most of them have.

If you want to truly tap into the power of your network, try this exercise: grab a pen and a sheet of paper, and pull out your phone. Go through your social media friends and ask yourself: “Who is in my network that can help me reach my goals?” Go name by name, down the list, and write down every person who may be a valuable resource for where you want to go. This will instantly make you realize how powerful your network is – as well as give you a list of people to reach out to in order to speed up your journey.

You’re closer to your dreams than you think, but in order to get there you have to become an unapologetic asker.

    Show Notes:

Self-esteem is a major factor in a person’s success. That doesn’t mean you have to feel good about everything that you do. You just need to have the confidence to try. So much of our self-esteem is shaped in childhood, which makes it especially important to instill that confidence in kids early on. Jack Canfield and Miriam Laundry are both experts on enhancing self-esteem in children (as well as adults). Together, they co-authored the book “I Can Believe in Myself,” which helps children turn the words “I can’t” into “I can!” Whether you have kids and want them to be confident, you struggle with confidence yourself, or you’re interested in writing and publishing a children’s book of your own, these two have a wealth of knowledge that you’re sure to find value in.

    Question Highlights:

    • Where did the inspiration for this book come from?
    • Can you tell me about your course, helping people write books?
    • What fears do you normally see from people?
    • What was your experience after attending Jack’s event?
    • What do you experience in your life and career right now?
    • What feels important right now?
    • If you could only write one more book, what would it be about?

    Guest Bio:

Jack Canfield is the co-creator of the #1 New York Times bestselling “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series, including “Chicken Soup for the Kid’s Soul” and “Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul.” He started his career as a teacher in Chicago Public Schools and later went on to become an expert in the area of educating teachers and parents about how to build and maintain high self-esteem in children of all ages. He is also the co-writer of “100 Ways to Enhance Self-Concept in the Classroom” and “Self-Esteem in the Classroom: A Curriculum Guide.” He also recently published “The Big, Bad Bully,” which he co-authored with Miriam Laundry.

Jack is the founder and chairman of The Canfield Training Group in Santa Barbara, California, which conducts workshops and training on how to achieve greater success in every area of your life. More than 100,000 children and adults participated in this record-setting event, with the purpose of promoting positive mental health. Her books have also received numerous awards including a Mom's Choice Award and a Readers Favorite International Award.

    Show Notes:

Corey Phelps is the founder of Cultivate by Corey, a fitness-focused brand offering in-person classes and online courses. When COVID struck, she had to pivot fast and recenter herself, which led to her opening a new brand in her company: the Amplify Her Collective. In this coaching call, we explore the importance of finding mentors, how to build teams that invest in your vision, and extending your reach without sacrificing your core values.

    Question for Lori:

    • You have had so many accomplishments, from The Bliss Project to your latest endeavor of Lite Pink, which is such an inspiration from the community building aspect and how you have built it from the ground up as a female-funded business. How important was it for you to tap into your network as well as find mentors at each new level to support you, push you, and guide you?
    • What advice can you give on how to step into the CEO leadership role and build a team that is as invested in your vision and mission as you are?
    • I have defined my big ‘why,’ my mission, my core values, and have a proven process. How do I create growth, impact, and reach as many women as possible while maintaining authenticity, integrity, and personal touch as every woman’s success is important to me?

    Guest Bio:

After 11 years of teaching and coaching women on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle inside the Cultivate by Corey brand, from in-person classes at her studio to online courses and programs, there was something else brewing for Corey. In 2020, when the world shifted in unthinkable ways, so did Corey’s business and priorities. She felt a tap on the shoulder and stepped into the online space in a new way, supporting women in building and growing their businesses. What started as impromptu calls and presentations to a group of women needing support in learning the ins and outs of online business has transformed into a larger mission to support women in creating an unwavering belief in themselves, their capacity to build financial freedom, and having a personal life of their dreams (friends, kids romance all of it).
