The transfer portal opened yesterday in college football…did any Huskers enter their name, and what’s the update on Nico Iamaleava? Apr 17, 2025

Show notes

-It was a slow morning on the Nebraska front, with no known entries in the portal by midday…is that to be expected? Doesn’t the Nico Iamaleava story make it difficult to know if grass is greener elsewhere and if the money is as good?

-Speaking of Nico, he entered the portal with a “do not contact” tag…but we know that several schools are OUT on him…if it’s truly down to UCLA, why would they pay him what he wants? If the market isn’t high, there’s no reason to pay a high price…BUT, Urban Meyer says this was not something to be celebrated for Tennessee fans…

Should athletes and coaches have more time to collect their thoughts before they talk to the media after games/events? Apr 16, 2025

Show notes

-There’s been an interesting storyline in golf this year about golfers wanting more time to calm down before they go to the media tent—first with Collin Morikawa a month ago and now with Shane Lowry at The Masters

-It’s probably two very different spectrums of thoughts for both Sip and Bill on this, right? Would Sip want the access right afterwards to get that true emotion right after a game? And for Bill…as a coach…how much time is proper to get right mentally after a game? Is it the same or different in all sports or not?
