We’re through one round of the College Football Playoff and as predicted---2 good games, and 2 duds…can we really justify the Group of 5 in a 12 team playoff? Dec 22, 2025

Show notes

-Alabama/Oklahoma was awesome on Friday night, as the Sooners jumped out to a 17-0 lead, only to lose the game, 34-24; setting up Indiana/Alabama on New Year’s Day

-Miami beat Texas A&M, 10-3, in the only other competitive game of the weekend---otherwise, Ole Miss buried Tulane, 41-10; and Oregon beat James Madison, 51-34. Is the Group of 5 really justifiable in a 12 team playoff?

A factoid in a CBS Sports flattering article about Nebrasketball brings a lot of things to perspective about the rest of the season Dec 18, 2025

Show notes

-As this show has often said---it seems like Nebraska’s ceiling every year is ‘bubble team’…but we’ve never seen anything like this before

-CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander wrote about Nebraska and pointed out that with games upcoming vs. North Dakota and New Hampshire, the Huskers should be 13-0…in the last 30 years, 96 high-major conference teams have started 13-0 and of those 96 teams, 86 made the tournament---an 89.6% success rate. But this is more than just ‘making’ the Dance…
