-CBS Sports lists Lane Kiffin as the top Grinch for what he did in leaving Ole Miss; then Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua for his handling of no bowl game; Diego Pavia for his post-Heisman reaction; Bill O’Brien for exploding at media members; and Mack Rhoades for his fiasco in leaving CFP…anyone else we should consider on this list?

Welcome to Christmas Eve, where we can assess the month so far and say it’s been pretty overly good as a gift to The Stool and listeners Dec 24, 2025

Show notes

-Yes, there is still sadness and disappointment about the way that Nebraska volleyball’s season ended—but as Bill pointed out yesterday in Jake’s NFL Winners and Losers---the demise of the Dolphins doesn’t faze Jake with the early success that Nebrasketball has had (Joe Lunardi has the Huskers as a 4-seed in most latest Bracketology projection!!!)

-A bowl game win would be the cherry on top of a good month (besides the volleyball loss)…so we should be grateful today

-Also, ROLL CALL (sponsored by Madsen’s Bowling & Billiards): where are Breakers listening from today?

Marcus Freeman is apparently considered a ‘favorite’ for the New York Giants opening…are we really about to have both Michigan and Notre Dame open for head coaching jobs? Dec 23, 2025

Show notes

-We’re still not sure who is going to Michigan, as rumors swirl daily there…is it possible potential candidates for the job know that Freeman might leave Notre Dame to go to the Giants and are waiting it out?

-Which job is more attractive? Notre Dame has a national audience (Michigan does, too—maybe not as much), but Michigan’s in a stable and big time conference. Which job would a big time coach want more?

There’s rumors of potential interest from Nebraska in Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles…would he be a good fit in Lincoln and accepted by the fans? Dec 23, 2025

Show notes

-It wasn’t a great year for Chiles at Michigan State (10 TDs, 3 INTs); his stats also weren’t great last year (13 TDs, 11 INTs); and he had 4 TDs and 0 INTs at Oregon State in 2023

-There’s apparently rumors that Chiles could be the target for the Huskers in the portal…does he improve this team enough if he is the guy?
