This is not an Iowa show---but a breakdown of the AP All-American team shares an unbelievable stat for the Hawkeyes that will make Husker fans shake their heads Dec 16, 2025

Show notes

-The AP released their All-American teams yesterday---unfortunately, Emmett Johnson was a 2nd team player---but 10 B1G players made first team status, including 4 Ohio State players

-Iowa had 2 first team All-Americans (guard Beau Stephens, and center Logan Jones)…it’s the 7th STRAIGHT YEAR that Iowa has had at least one first-team All-American and the case in 10 of the last 12 years. That is incredible and needs to be honored.

A line in Sip’s Sunday column caught Jake’s attention…”Nebraska seldom plays with an underdog mentality that has long perplexed me”…why does this not change? Dec 16, 2025

Show notes

-Nebraska is in the postseason for the 2nd straight year after a long drought of no bowl games---because they weren’t very good---but they still don’t have a true signature win and we discuss the narrative of 29 straight losses to ranked teams

-Sip wrote that it’s ‘perplexing’ for why Nebraska refuses to embrace the underdog mentality---well, they are 16.5 point underdogs to Utah, so they’ll have to embrace it to win the game---but why can’t it be the case more often?
