It appears to be the end of an era in Miami: Tua Tagovailoa is benched by the Dolphins in favor of Quinn Ewers Dec 18, 2025

Show notes

-It’s a youth movement in Miami after the loss to Pittsburgh officially eliminated the Dolphins from playoff contention, as the team also cut veteran pass rusher Matthew Judon, allowing him to sign with a playoff-bound team if they choose to

-Tua has been a bottom 5 QB in the league this year and it’s been a steep regression that has had only brief glimpses of hope…now the Dolphins will see what Quinn Ewers has to offer as they head to an offseason in search of a new GM and (possibly) a new head coach…and QB. Troy Dannen reiterated on radio this week that Nebraska is set up well ahead of the transfer portal in terms of money for athletes…does that take away excuses for the program? Dec 18, 2025

Show notes

-Dannen spoke on Sports Nightly on Tuesday and mentioned when Matt Rhule said that Nebraska’s roster needed $25-30 million to contend, and then he signed his contract extension a few weeks later and those comments were done on money

-Dannen said the university has fully pledged its resources to football but the other programs will also benefit from it---and he even said “whether its $25 or $30 million, $22 to $50 million, we can compete” because of reallocations approved by the university president….are we reading this wrong or does it sound like they are taking away any excuses?
