DJ LOMAXX GOES LIVE WITH EMERGING STAR J-THURO! Feb 23, 2017

Show notes

J-Thuro is a (hip-hop) artist born and raised in the Flatbush/Crown Heights area of Brooklyn, NY and is of Guyanese descent. Many call this area of Brooklyn the Carribean NY. Growing up in the 1980's & 90's was tough for J-Thuro. He witnessed a lot of mayhem growing up which shaped his storytelling style of rhyming. J-Thuro attributes his being one with rhythm and his writing knack to the times when his mother left the radio on all day in their home to prevent potential robberies. This situation started J-Thuro's passion & love for music. When J-Thuro heard the likes of Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., 2 Pac, Jay-Z, plus many more on the radio that sealed the deal in J-Thuro wanting to make his own stamp in music.

J-Thuro's debut mixtape, “Bringing Hip Hop Back” is available for FREE DOWNLOAD on DatPiff (http://www.datpiff.com/J-Thuro-Bringing-Hip-Hop-Back-mixtape.675817.html) & www.jthuro.com, Follow J-Thuro(@therealjthuro) on Twitter and Instagram for the l

DJ LOMAXX GOES ONE-ON-ONE WITH RISING STAR TL WILLIAM’S! Feb 08, 2017

Show notes

ABOUT T. L.

Following the success of the smash hit “Gettin Mo Money Than You” (including a video which continues to garner over half-a-million views on YouTube) from his debut LP The T. L. Williams Experience, T. L. spent the past 2 years playing shows around the country with grammy-award winning artists such as Rhymefest; as well as sharing the stages with the likes of Aaron Carter, Dreezy, and Taylor Bennett; and starting the paradign-shifting arts organization symphony of change.

?When T. L. decided it was time to start recording his second album, the songs he’d written centered around an unapologetically free notion - love, empowerment, fearlessness, and celebrating your individuality. These songs culminated in The New Normal, a diverse collection of futuristic funk, the recording of which marks the reboot of the legendary Chi-Sound Records. The label was founded in 1976 by Carl Davis who mentored T. L. shortly before his passing in 2012. T. L. was recently appointed EVP in t

DJ Lomaxx Goes 1-ON-1 with Emerging Star TRENT DUPRI! Jan 27, 2017

Show notes

My name is Trent-Dupri an upcoming artist out of Pacoima, Ca. As far as I can remember music has been my objective. At the tender age of 4 I was listening 2 artist such as 2pac. N.W.A and Snoop Dogg from the west coast which I’m a native of, and a couple from the east like Big'l ,Jay-z, n Nas just to name a few others. I first started putting words together when I was about 10. From there I went on to Junior high and High school doing rap battles a lil bit more. And then I started to see my potential to grow an decided to turn it into art such as the artist I listen to. Know a little history about my family I have 3 other siblings a brother and two sisters and both parents but they are divorced. Since then I been doing things on my own started recording my first works in 8th grade. And went onto record a numbers of covers and solo and collabo tracks with a couple of partners at the time. Later we branched off and started to do our own thing. Produce by Smoke Bomb Entertainment.

DJ Lomaxx Goes 1-ON-1 With Rising Star Stoops! Jan 20, 2017

Show notes

My name is Byron Johnson, but I go by the name of Stoops. Since I wrote this, I’mgoing to speak in the first person. When I’m big enough to have somebody actually write my bio, we’ll bring in the third person. Anyway, I’m from Detroit, Michigan, but my passion brought me to Los Angeles. That passion is music, and it’s been my passion since I was 12 years old. I always knew it would drive my life, but I had no idea it would land me in Hollywood. And there’s nothing like being an independent artist in that city. I went from working on film sets, to random music sessions with Peedi Crack, to delivering Puffy’s dry cleaning every day, trying to figure out how to let him know what he had in front of him. Either way, it always comes back to the music. I had the most success I’ve ever had in 2016, and I expect 2017 to be bigger.

The video for my song, “Freedom”, hit over a quarter million views in just over a quarter of the year, and the song itself hit over 70,000 streams. I’m charting
