Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip forms a mihghty podcast triumvirate with ADAM BUXTON & RICHARD HERRING!

You already KNOW Adam and Richard from their illustrious podcast careers (The Adam Buxton Podcast and RHLSTP respectively), but surely a ton of you also know them from their comedy or acting careers too, in solo form as well as in double acts. I mean this is all just fluff really because if you listen to Distraction Pieces then by now you'll know all of this and the podcast will either be currently downloading or already in progress. And you will know Adam and Richard anyway. I guess I'm just being polite really. No harm in that! ANYWAY - without spoiling anything, it's a lovely conclusion a lovely chat which goes into a load of awesome ground, with tangents and welcome back and forths throughout. You know what it is. You shall enjoy!

Show notes

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip is joined by RIO & CHARLIE of the incredible BLOOMSBURY FOOTBALL!

Todays episode is a wonderful chat with coach and mentor Rio Rosenberg, and founder / CEO of Bloomsbury Football Foundation Charlie Hyman! A really nice conversation about what the foundation is, does, and means to those who join. Bloomsbury Football Foundation is all about access to football to those who might have previously faced obstacles in playing the sport in a team with all the equipment and whatnot that is necessary. Listen to the episode to get a beautifully inspiring idea of what they do, and hear all about Rio and Charlie and their own missions, involvement and journeys too. Enjoy and look at the links below to find out more - so much to see and inspire, so do take some time and consider involvement if it appeals too!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip is joined for a Xmas tradition catch-up by old pals POLARBEAR and MUSA OKWONGA! Part 2 of 2...

If you're listening to this podcast, I'll make a pretty safe bet that you will be familiar with spoken word superheroes Polar and Musa. If not, I'll make an equally safe bet that if you like Pip, you've now got two friends in waiting, as this crew go back a long way and share a lot of amazing ground, stories, past, influence and style but carry their own unique sparkle and fire. You could add Inua Ellams and Kae Tempest to the gang too, and a ton of others. ANYWAY - this is a continuation of the yearly Xmas drinks catchup tradition that goes back a while, where the crew celebrate and bigup others and their influences, favourites, and really get into the technique and inner workings of it all. The list of topics is too deep to relay here so just trust that between Pip, Polar and Musa, you will have yourself a wonderful time of it.

Inbetweeners Special w/Joe & Simon • Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip #487 Dec 02, 2022

Show notes

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip is joined by Inbetweeners heroes and OGs JOE THOMAS & SIMON BIRD!

This bonus episode is in partnership with All 4, featuring Joe Thomas and Simon Bird from The Inbetweeners.

Pip has been circling these two for a good while now, although Simon has appeared on DPP all those years ago in 2020 - but as a duo, the lads come correct and you know it's a great one. You of course know them from The Inbetweeners, in small and big screen variants, as well as their individual work of which all of the original gang have developed through the years, but here's a great chance to check in with Joe & Simon with a new fresh perspective of their work back in the day. A very entertaining chat with ace backstage gossip and all of that good old fashioned self deprecating (and straight up deprecating!) charm that you know from them. Listen and enjoy!

You can stream The Inbetweeners and many more on All 4.

John Hathaway • Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip #486 Nov 30, 2022

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip is joined by MMA superhero JOHN HATHAWAY!

A truly great chat with Pip and John, and while you may see the initials M, followed by an M, and then an A, in the above description, this isn't necessarily one strictly for the UFC heads. Although you'll surely have a great time if you ARE one. John's been through a whole lot in his journey to perfection, and as you'll hear not every pro fighter is immune to human issues. He had a major battle with some internal maladies which you'll hear about in a very tactful way, but managed to navigate through with grace and made a major comeback. But as you'll also hear, there's some huge stories to be told and as you'll expect, Pip's on his game with this one. Enjoy!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip is joined by the superb director JACK SPRING!

A great catchup with Pip and Jack as they get all the way into the film making craft, covering almost every aspect from the journey into it all, to learning the ropes on the business side, funding, casting, all of that good stuff as well as all the extra bits and pieces you would want to hear and know about. A perfect chance to get to know Jack better, and the perfect chance to hear more about his film Three Day Millionaire too, which sounds incredible... Enjoy!

Mark Mylod • Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip #484 Nov 21, 2022

Show notes

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!

This week Pip is joined by TV and film director behind almost everything MARK MYLOD!

An amazing chat with someone who began their storied career working on some cornerstone shows in BBC history like Grandstand, Eastenders and Blue Peter but ALSO Maid Marian which was a huge deal for those of us of a certain age, let's say... Anyway - through a series of chess moves on the board of the industry he currently finds himself in an incredible position working on some true TV greats like Succession and Game Of Thrones to name but two - but also his own film The Menu, which you'll find in cinemas currently (at time of typing). A wide ranging and honest chat but with a focus on the topic at hand, which gives so much room for hearing the tale of Mark and his years in the game. It makes for a really fascinating chat which will vibrate with everyone and anyone who appreciates their media, on the small or big screen. Or massive screen at home. However you get down.
