It’s another DFSR solo podcast with Doug Norrie breaking down a three game NBA slate for FanDuel and DraftKings. Even with such a short Valentine’s Day slate there’s plenty to discuss. Some injury news we’ll want to check in on throughout the day starts with whether the Bulls will sit both Jimmy Butler and Dwayne Wade again. If so, then Michael Carter-Williams should see plenty of minutes though it’s less clear about the rest of the team. There’s also the Cavs without Kevin Love tonight and Doug talks about how that effects the rest of the team, specifically Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Channing Frye. DFSR’s Doug Norrie takes to a solo, on-the-road NBA podcast to discuss a huge Monday in the NBA. There’s a ton to break down with some cheaper values already creeping to the forefront this early in the day. Some of the more relevant games include a Sixer-Charlotte affair with Nerlens Noel coming in at a great price considering Philly’s without Embiid and Okafor. On the Charlotte side you could see another start from Frank Kaminsky and Kemba Walker is coming cheap on FanDuel thanks to some recent rough shooting. The Pelicans and Suns should play in a fast-paced game with Anthony Davis (eep) as the top big money value target tonight if you can stomach the nightly injury risk. All of this and much more for a big night in the NBA.

DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take a look at a five game NBA slate for FanDuel and DraftKings. The big news here is the Cavs likely sitting their big three in Lebron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. That leaves Cleveland incredibly thin across the board and we could see steady doses of most of the cheap Cavs’ players. This will be the piece of news to monitor as we get closer to lineup lock. After that we can likely safely get big money in on Russell Westbrook and James Harden because the punt situation should be robust. They also talk about the Orlando Magic possibly without Aaron Gordon and how that would effect the Orlando starters. Then they finish off with some NoHalftime challenges.

He breaks it down game by game spending a bit more time with teams like the Wizards facing the lowly Brooklyn Nets. John Wall, Brad Beal, Markieff Morris and Otto Porter all make for strong cash game plays. There’s also the Cavs who could be without Iman Shumpert tonight and the Pistons squaring up against a fast-pace/ no defense team like the Lakers. He also talks about the Nuggets’ injury situation and who could emerge for them tonight as well as the question marks around the Warriors/ Bulls game. DFSR’s Doug Norrie and James Davis take a look at an interesting three game slate in the NBA. Sometimes these small slates can get a little tricky but this one looks packed with value. A lot of that comes from the Hornets getting to face the Nets who of course are the team we always want to target against in DFS. Playing four Hornets is totally in play with Kemba Walker and Nic Batum likely coming in as chalk. James Harden is another chalk play against the Magic though we do need to worry some about the blowout there. The guys also discuss the state of Orlando and how they’ve redistributed minutes in the short term. And finally they talk about the Mavs against the Blazers and whether Yogi Ferrell is still a popular play tonight.

The same can be said for the Mavericks against the Blazers. They also break down some of the bigger money guys like James Harden against the Bulls and Russell Westbrook who’s coming in under price against the Grizzlies. Dear Derozan will sit again making Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell fantastic values for the relative usage and minutes increases they’ll see against the Celtics. We also know Kevin Love will sit tonight which will leave a decision on whether we can pay more than $11K for Lebron here. It’s close and Doug dives into his thought process on that one. He also talks about the Knicks and how to evaluate that team with guys like Derrick Rose and Kristaps Porzingis questionable. It could open the door for Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Jennings and even Wily Hernangomez. All of that and more on a full day of NBA action for FanDuel and DraftKings.

It’s a full day of DFS talk here with a solid basketball slate. The show starts with a solo-pod style NBA breakdown. DFSR’s James Davis is off speaking in front of the New Hampshire Senate on a proposed DFS bill there leaving Doug Norrie t break down the NBA action. He talks about the big money guys like James Harden in a slower matchup against the Kings and Russell Westbrook with a bad matchup against the Spurs. That leaves us possibly stomaching Anthony Davis who’s always an injury waiting to happen. Doug looks at each game, the injury news out there and some of the DFS value he’s seeing with guys like Kenneth Faried, Tarik Black and even Evan Turner on the cheaper side of things. As of the time of the recording, half of the games didn’t have Vegas lines as we wait for a bunch of injury news to flush out. Doug goes game-by-game and breaks down things to look out for and who would stand to see increased value in injury situations. It’s a tough nut to crack this early in the day as we are waiting on news about Joel Embiid, Demar Derozan, Kawhi Leonard and Hassan Whiteside just to name a few. There’s also talk about some of the safer plays like Kemba Walker, Nic Batum and how the Magic look tonight against the Celtics. Then at the 37:25 mark Doug jumps on with Blake Pender, the founder of LineupLab and DFSR’s partner and CTO. They discuss the process for creating new DFS products, how to use the PlayerLab tools and what to look forward to coming down the DFSR pike.
