Supergirl 1x16 - Falling | Review Mar 18, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: Spoilers/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #131 - Supergirl 1x16 - Falling | Review - Kara falls prey to red kryptonite, and National City falls prey to her wrath! We know it seems wrong, but we love Kara when she's under the influence of red kryptonite! Yeah, maybe she goes too far when she's throwing Cat Grant off of balconies or calling Lucy Lane a poor man's Lois, but it's refreshing to see Kara have a spine when she's Kara! Plus, yay character development and story progression!

Legends of Tomorrow 1x08 - Night of the Hawk | Review Mar 16, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #130 - Legends of Tomorrow 1x08 - Night of the Hawk | Review - Time to go back in time to the 1950s! It's full of bigotry, hawk monsters, and delicious casserole! And this episode is filled with untapped story potential, unexplained aliens, and bad decision-making! Vandal Savage is masquerading as Curtis Knox who likes to throw parties and cook casseroles (and maybe swing?)! And since it's the 50s, why not have Kendra and Ray pretend to be an interracial married couple? And let Jax run around sitting with whites in local diners! Cause that seems smart.

Lucifer 1x07 - Wingman | Review + Captain America: Civil War Spidey Geek-Out! Mar 15, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #129 - Lucifer 1x07 - Wingman | Review + Captain America: Civil War Spidey Geek-Out! - Lucifer's on the search for his wings, and we're on the search for damns to give! It's time to put the procedural away, boys. At least, that is our collective thought here! What's happening might be interesting if we could only stop worrying about Chloe Decker and her corrupt cop case and start focusing on that other little story this series has going on. You know, the one featuring angels, demons, God, Lucifer, and the quickly-approaching war between the two. Or maybe even the whole Lucifer-becoming-immortal question. Why is that happening? We get closer with this episode, but patience (and procedurals) wear thin. Also, we geek out about the new Captain America: Civil War trailer featuring Spider-Man! (We know it's not DC... we just wanted to).

Gotham 2x13 - A Dead Man Feels No Cold | Review Mar 14, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #128 - Gotham 2x13 - A Dead Man Feels No Cold | Review - Mr. Freeze is on the loose, and Penguin is on the mend. Also, Bruce and Alfred are back! Unfortunately, so are dutch tilts (just for a moment). Amidst Ace Chemical shout-outs, Mr. Freeze's rampage, and a riveting game of Duck, Duck Goose, Jim Gordon manages to look guilty while Hugo Strange manages to get his hands on Victor Fries' formula. Oh, and Ms. Peabody is weird...

Legends of Tomorrow 1x07 - Marooned | Review Mar 07, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN Podcast #126 - Legends of Tomorrow 1x07 - Marooned | Review - It's flashbacks and backstabbings on this week's Legends of Tomorrow! Back story is given on our intrepid Captain Rip Hunter while Ray plays Captain Kirk (despite Kendra preferring Captain Picard), Snart wonders whether he can ever trust his partner Mick again, and, oh yeah! The Waverider needs a software update to find Vandal Savage. Good thing another Timemaster ship is nearby and under attack by time pirates!

Lucifer 1x06 - Favorite Son | Review Mar 07, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN Podcast #125 - Lucifer 1x06 - Favorite Son | Review - Someone's stolen Lucifer's Russian Dolls... Lucifer finds that he must punish someone who has dared to steal something he had in storage... something his Father gave him. And while Detective Decker suspects that he was storing something illicit, the audience gets to roll their eyes in knowledge that the true contents of the crate (besides Russian dolls) are his wings. As they search for wings, Amenadiel gets closer to Lucifer's therapist, and she in turn gets closer to a break-through with her newest patient.

Supergirl 1x15 - Solitude | Review Mar 07, 2016

Show notes

WARNING: SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN Podcast #124 - Supergirl 1x15 - Solitude | Review - It's Supergirl vs Blue Supergi--er, Indigo! Laura Vandervoort, the Supergirl of 'Smallville' is playing Indigo, otherwise known as Brainiac 8! But that's literally the least interesting thing about this episode! Winn is recruited (again) to work for the DEO (right before playing tonsil hockey with Siobahn Smythe), Lucy breaks it off with James (FINALLY), Alex finally tells Kara the truth about who killed Astra, and the writers get silver age on this shit with Kara visiting Superman's Fortress of Solitude and opening it with a giant key made of a million tons of condensed dwarf star!

After two long months, it's time to jump back into the cesspool to discuss uneven tones, bizarre creative choices, and even more new villains in this the first chapter of Wrath of the Villains.
