    Crossing the Streams with Brent and Aaron

    Most of us older than 30 remember mix tapes and the time we spent meticulously curating the perfect collection of songs to introduce friends to new music. The mediums we grew up on have moved to streaming services and playlists, but the sentiment still rings true. Every Monday, Aaron and Brent trade songs to find out what has changed and what will never change. Music is ever-evolving, but the fingerprints of the past are always present. Get ready for a mixtape throwdown for the digital age with Crossing the Streams.

    Aaron and Brent highlight music from an Atlanta-based progressive metal band who just released their eighth album in October and a brother led group that gained significant exposure from an appearance on MTV Unplugged.

    With a style that combines elaborate riffs, complex time signatures, and a melodic range that has earned critical praise over their 20 year career, Aaron looks at three songs from Mastodon.

    Formed by brothers Kurt and Chris Kirkwood in 1980, Brent spotlights three songs from The Meat Puppets 1994 album "Too High To Die".
