    Crossing the Streams with Brent and Aaron

    Most of us older than 30 remember mix tapes and the time we spent meticulously curating the perfect collection of songs to introduce friends to new music. The mediums we grew up on have moved to streaming services and playlists, but the sentiment still rings true. Every Monday, Aaron and Brent trade songs to find out what has changed and what will never change. Music is ever-evolving, but the fingerprints of the past are always present. Get ready for a mixtape throwdown for the digital age with Crossing the Streams.

    The Guess Who & Band Of Horses May 30, 2022

    Aaron's song picks for the week come from a Seattle-based band led by singer/songwriter Ben Bridwell while Brent spotlights music from one of the most successful Canadian rock groups of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Formed after the break-up of Bridwell's previous band, Carissa's Wierd, Aaron highlights three songs from the group Band Of Horses. Originating in Winnipeg as Chad Allan & The Expressions before a clever marketing ploy permanently altered their name in 1965, Brent looks at three songs from the career of The Guess Who.

    Aaron highlights music from a blues-based band from Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota and Brent spotlights a blues group from Kentucky that is fronted by a local radio and television personality. Originally started in the late 90s by Mato Nanji along with his brother, sister and cousin before eventually continuing the group on his own, Aaron looks at three songs from the band Indigenous. Formed in the early 90s by singer "Fast Layne" Hendrickson before turning over frontman duties to a skilled blues guitarist, singer, and ... meteorologist, Brent highlights three songs from Paducah's Lew Jetton & 61 South.
