Episode 51 The Bachelor: Chicken Legs & Carlos vs. Fraudulent “Wolverine” (Season 16, Week 6) Nov 18, 2020

Show notes

This week there was a lot of unnecessary drama between Ed, Chasen and Bennett and we were not here for any of it. The toxic masculinity in this episode was OVER THE TOP as the men start to focus their attention on each other, the drama and not Tayshia.

We also saw a wrestling event, which reminded us of our episode on the Fabulous Moolah, Episode 38 you can check that out here.

We say goodbye to POC contestant Montel Hill (who just got there). Our POC highlight is Doctor Joe, AKA Dr. Joseph Park. We love the jokes and the genuine connection he is making with Tayshia! Give us MORE!

We get into a DEEP conversation about colorism and the Bachelor Franchise. It’s an important conversation, one that we truly hope ABC takes to heart. This convo starts at 1:08:16.

Episode 50 True Crime: The Crimes of Lisa Nowak and the Murders of Larissa Dumansky and Piper Streyle Nov 16, 2020

Show notes

Megan’s story this week is based on one of our favorite contestants, Ivan! Ivan was our POC highlight of the week, and we love him. Ivan is an aeronautical engineer, so Megan tells the wild story of NASA Astronaut Lisa Nowak and the attempted kidnapping of Captain Colleen Shipman. Thankfully Captain Shipman survived and seems to be thriving now. (Story starts at 9:19).

This week we had a rude interruption from Chris Harrison with an unnecessary update from Clare and Dale (like we didn’t see their journey 2 seconds ago *insert eye roll here*). Danielle has been waiting to cover a South Dakota case seeing as though Dale is from Brandon, South Dale-kota (she thinks this joke is funny, Megan was not amused).

Danielle covers the murder of Piper Streyle that opens a pandora’s box and reveals a sexual sadist serial killer among the small town of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Content Warning: Sexual Assault. (Story starts at: 34:38).

Episode 49 The Bachelor: It's Finally Tayshia Time Bitches (Bachelorette Season 16, Week 5) Nov 11, 2020

Show notes

It’s finally time for Tayshia! We had the honor to see Tayshia meet the men (and surprise … more men), have group dates, and go on a one on one date. Tayshia is a breath of fresh air into this season and we are HERE FOR IT.

Also in this episode, we get an update from Clare and Dale who seem really happy together. If Clare likes it, we love it! Danielle does, an incredibly fast rapid-fire, recap of their time on our screen (AGAIN).

Our POC highlight this week features Ivan, who FINALLY got the screen time he deserved! Ivan is an Aeronautical engineer born in Chicago, who makes his way to us from Dallas, Texas. We cannot wait to see more of Ivan and Tayshia in the very near future.

Make sure you listen through the end - we included a short outtake for you!

Episode 48 True Crime: The Murder of Madame Rose Leon and the Murder of Bianca Devins Nov 09, 2020

Show notes

This week we saw Chris Watson and Bri Stauss from, The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart, serenade Clare and Dale on their first one-on-one. Chris calls himself Jahatian, which is Haitian and Jamaican. Danielle covers the murder of prominent political figure and business woman, Madame Rose Leon in Kingston, Jamaica. (Story starts at: 11:43)

As this week was, once again, the Clare and Dale show, Clare talked to Chris Harrison about how she checked out each guy on social media, which is unfortunately how Bianca Devins met the man who killed her. Bianca was an awesome 17-year-old who just wanted to help people with mental illness. Content Warning: self-harm, suicide attempt mention. (Story starts at: 44:22)

Episode 47 The Bachelor: We Don't Know if We Need Drinks, or Sleep, or What!? (Bachelorette Season 16, Week 4) Nov 07, 2020

Show notes

We are joined by amazing and mysterious Amanda and Cassidy from Drinking the Kool-Aid Pod! Amanda is a superfan of the show and long time watcher. This was Cassidy’s FIRST EVER Bachelor Franchise episode!

In this episode, we finally find out how Clare “blows up the Bachelorette” by proclaiming her love for Dale and dumping with the rest of the guys. Clare and Dale have a lot of relationship firsts in this episode - the first one-on-one date, first dance, and first PROPOSAL.

In this episode, we also get to see our friends, Chris and Bri, from Listen to Your Heart! They sing “Found You” from their first album. You can check out our interview with them here!

Our POC highlight this week features Demar, the spin instructor from Scottsdale, Arizona. Demar rocked the heck out of a black on black suit and looked absolutely amazing.

Episode 46 True Crime: The story of Kai the Hatchet-Wielding Hitchhiker and the Murders of Brett Goldin and Richard Bloom Nov 02, 2020

Show notes

This week Dale came to save the day when trash bag Yosef came for Clare in the most disrespectful way. In addition, we saw Tayshia at the end of the episode come out of the water like Ariel, from The Little Mermaid, to save us from the downward spiral this season is taking. Based on that, Danielle covers another hero, Kai, who saves a woman from a man that claims to have the power of Jesus and strikes a man with his car. There is a dark twist in Kai’s story that leads him to a very different outcome than expected for this “hero”. (Story starts at 11:17)

This week’s Bachelorette episode featured a roast, hosted by hilarious comedian Margaret Cho! Megan covers a case featuring a comedian’s murder, the Capetown murders of Brett Goldin and Richard Bloom. These two were in the wrong place at the wrong time, unfortunately, and were found naked and shot execution-style. (Story starts at 41:36)
