We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Gabby and Rachel’s season of The Bachelorette. Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season. Megan pulled the Queen of Roses aka the Beauty Queen. This card is all about self-confidence, self motivation, and independence.

This week we see an episode of filler. We start with Aven’s hometown, which is hella disrespectful for them to leave off last week. We get that they didn’t have anything to talk about, but they could have picked someone else to do dirty. We also see men talk shit about men that are not there, hot seats from Logan and Nate. We also see lots of ads for shit we can’t afford, or don’t want, and do not care about. The end.

We highlight BIPOC contestants because we believe it is important to highlight those who we see on our screen, because representation matters. This week we are highlighting Aven. We saw little from Aven when he wasn’t making out with Rachel or shirtless. It was hella disrespectful to not show us his hometown date with the rest, but really enjoyed his parents. Aven deserves better, follow him here!

Michael Vick was an incredible athlete from a very young age. He worked hard to build a life for himself that was out of the ordinary for the community he came from. But his idea to create and fund a criminal enterprise surrounding vicious and inhumane dog fighting became his downfall and legacy. We are bringing back the tarot readings for every episode of Gabby and Rachel’s season of The Bachelorette. Megan asked the Final Rose Tarot cards what we can expect from this season. Megan pulled the Eight of Flutes aka The Self Elimination. This card is all about awareness, walking away from what doesn’t serve you, and making those difficult decisions.

We’ve made it to hometowns! Because of our hometown football team (Falcons Rise Up), Megan is completely unable to watch this episode. But, have no fear, Danielle was still able to watch and she recaps it all for you!

Going into this episode, we expected seven hometown dates; we really get six(ish)... We head to New Orleans for a hometown date with Jason and all of Bachelor Nation falls in love with his mother and father. Zach’s hometown date also goes really well, and Rachel gets to meet his Uncle Kronk. Johnny flips the script and has Gabby meet his family before the date portion. We meet and fall in love with Erich’s family and his father Allan, who passed away in early July. Things start to go left with Tyler’s hometown date on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey… only continue to go left during Tino’s date, where Rachel is feeling hated.

To Erich and the Schwer family, you have our deepest condolences on your loss. May Allan’s memory be his legacy.

Ep. 196: True Crime: The Murder of Catherine Walker Aug 19, 2022

Last week on the Bachelorette the episode focused way too much on Logan. He decided he wasn’t feeling it with Rachel, wanted to switch to Gabby’s “team” (his words not ours we hate it actually) and created a sort of love triangle. Logan is a Southern California guy who grew up surfing and kayaking. Which led Megan down a rabbit hole across the waters to another location frequented by surfers, Hawaii.

This week, Megan tells the story of Catherine Walker, who truly sounds like a sweet and loving person. She was murdered in 2014 in her Honolulu, Hawaii home, when her Army Medic husband, Michael, was working. Soon after her death, the truth comes out… and Michael was not the man Catherine thought he was. (Story starts at: 2:38)

This week finds us in Amsterdam! There is only ONE week until hometowns and we have no idea how we got here.

This week we see the pressure mount, because a rose this week means hometowns next week. We see a heartbreaking one on one with Gabby and Nate. Gabby cried … Nate cried … Danielle cried. We also see a one on one between Rachel and Zach (we stan a therapy king). We also see two group dates, one with whips and one with cheese.

The last couple of weeks, Gabby has shared her experience with her estrangement from her mother. We appreciate her openness in sharing the way she processed her trauma, it is so important for people to see. This week Danielle covers a story of a really bad dad.

Mick Philpott never contributed to the upbringing or financial burden created by his 17 children with 5 different women. When his “mistress” left him and took her children, Mick came up with a diabolical plan that would take the lives of 6 of his other children by fire.

This story takes us near Tampa, Florida, which happens to be the ABC bio hometown of two contestants this season - Hayden and Jordan H. This story begins in 1975 when 15 year-old Elaine Ziegler goes missing one night from a campground near Spring Hill, Florida. Five years later, 21 year-old Sandra Graham disappears in Tampa. About a month later, 16 year-old Theresa Fillingim also disappeared from the Tampa area. This case is then connected to the 1980 murder of Rene’ Saling in Watsonville, California? You have to hear it to believe it.

Sparkle Rai was pregnant after recently marrying the love of her life and moving to Georgia. Her murder remained unsolved for 3 years, until someone came forward with a story that would highlight the most unlikely suspect, her father-in-law. Law enforcement would soon find out that Sparkle’s in-laws, who she thought were dead, did not approve of her marriage because of her race. Her father-in-law would stop at NOTHING to make sure she didn’t join the family.
