Is It Wrong To Want God To Be Here Physically? Jul 01, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 478 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Should people or pastors call themselves prophets or "man of God" today? If so, what does it mean to not touch the anointed ones and do prophets no harm?

    2. In Genesis, in the Hebrew language, the creator of the universe is referred to in the plural form of Elohim. If God is triune, and one within the Trinity, why does the Hebrew word, Elohim, refer to the plural gods?

    3. Is it okay to wish God was here physically with us even though I know it won't happen? I was told this is idolatry, which makes me so sad because often I am pushed away, judged, or ignored because I'm autistic. None of the promises God made about church come true for me. Sometimes I wish I could touch, hug, hold, or smell God as my loving, affectionate Father. I especially long for this now that people are difficult to see with the Coronavirus restrictions. I wonder how orphans long for these basic needs but can't get them. Do they think about God in the same way?

    4. When will churches across the United States of America open to full capacity? So that way we can go back to what we used to do: shaking hands, hugging one another, that would be great. That way, all of us believers could attend that very first church service since March.

Is It a Sin to Listen to Secular Music? Jun 30, 2020

Episode 477 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I know God accepts me in Jesus but the way I walk does not reflect this. I tend to perform, not for God, but to meet my own standards. I feel trapped, as my pride gets in the way of enjoying God's grace. Even though I know this issue, I still feel trapped. What can I do?

    2. I had a question on predestination. I was wondering if God created time, space, and matter, would it be more that he is not confined in the time, and he knows who is going to be saved, rather than he chose who is going to be saved?

    3. was the generation that died in the wilderness saved? Did they put the blood on the doorposts only to die in the wilderness?

    4. I am a Christian, and I listen to country music. Is that being of the world? Am I doing something wrong?

Why Did Jesus Say "You are gods" to Humans? Jun 29, 2020

Episode 476 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. What if I have been the prodigal son, but multiple times? In Hebrews, it sounds like if you fall away, you can't be renewed to repentance. But Israel always seems to be falling away and returning to God. I guess I just feel the need to exhaustively make sure that I haven't disqualified myself. 2. In Leviticus 20, there is a long list of sexual sin. Why does God say that they should die? That's pretty harsh. Why would that not apply in today's world? 3. What did Jesus mean that we are gods? Isn't that polytheism or something? Is a part of me divine? 4. This is Jim, in Zechariah 11:10 when it says that he revoked or broke the covenant, what exactly does that mean? Did God or Satan Take the Life of My Son? Jun 26, 2020

Episode 475 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I've been doubting my salvation. I started reading the bible back in the 90s. Back in those days, I was addicted to cocaine, marijuana, porn, smoking and drinking. About 15 years ago I quit drugs, and about two years ago I quit smoking. I'm only about 560 days sober. My question is, am I saved? I know that my life changed, and I'm growing, but I doubt my salvation. So anything you have to say, thank you so much. 2. Almost every Christian church here in South Africa dance during Sunday services. Is it biblical, or is it one of the worldly things being adopted into the church? 3. Three and a half years ago, my 15-year-old son passed away. The autopsy revealed natural causes. I've been having terrible PTSD. I know he [my son] is in heaven. My pastor said Satan, not God, took my son. I'm very confused. I believe God calls his children home for a reason, even if it's early. It took me a year to get the courage to open my son's laptop, and when I did, I saw that he was planning to commit suicide a few days after he actually died. So I believe that God actually took him before he could do that. But now I'm confused. Did Satan take him? Or did God take him to avoid that? 4. I'm John, a 12-year-old from Charleston, South Carolina. Here is my question: Would you go to hell to save two sinners?

How Do I Share the Gospel with My Gay Parent? Jun 25, 2020

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Is it a sin to skip church? 2. Before the restrictions related to the coronavirus, our church was to no longer serve the Lord's Supper once a month on Sunday, but once a month on a Wednesday during an all-church prayer night. I struggle to understand why we would observe it on any other day than the Lord's day. Is this an acceptable practice? 3. How would you suggest someone of the faith talking to a parent who is gay and lesbian about the Christian faith? She knows the gospel, but she will say God made her that way, that He loves her, and that she is going to heaven without having to change or deny the flesh. 4. What exactly happens when we die? Do we go to heaven, or into a deep sleep? Request our latest special offers here or call 1-833-THE-CORE (833-843-2673) to request them by phone.

What Happens When God Is Not Impressive In My Life Anymore? with Special Guest Dr. Michael Horton Jun 24, 2020

Episode 473 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Why do I constantly hear negative thoughts from the Enemy? I was baptized for second time last year. So much different this time because I am actually a Christian. So why do I hear these negative thoughts? Maybe it is harder now because I have the Holy Spirit. I am being told, "Take every thought captive," but how do I do this? 2. Who are the "cloud of witnesses" mentioned in the Bible? I do not believe our loved ones in Heaven can see us on earth but some are teaching this. Please explain. 3. Hi I'm Matthew, I have a question on Matthew 6:14-15 When it says "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses". Does this mean the forgiveness of our sins from God is conditional on whether we forgive the sins of others? Thank you! God bless. P.S. I listen to snippets of your podcasts on Instagram from Singapore, and I enjoy them very much! 4. What happens when God is not impressive anymore in your life? I need an answer for that. I mean, I don't find anything appealing anymore about God. I've been a Christian for a while.

How Can God Be Just, Merciful, and Good? Jun 23, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 472 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. In Matthew 27:52–53 when the saints came out of the tomb after Jesus' resurrection. They went into the holy city and were seen by many. This would be huge! It's the only place in written history I can find it. How do you explain that nobody else ever thought it was worth mentioning?

    2. If Jesus knew that the Roman authorities would crucify him, why did he say, "My Lord, My Lord, why do you forsake me?"

    3. Should our main focus in the church be the preaching of Christ from all the Scriptures? What about growing his people in faith and boldness? Do we just preach and trust the Lord to grow his people, who then go out and love and serve their neighbors and share the gospel with them?

    4. How is it possible for God to be good, just, and merciful all at once? Being just means that there are laws and rules that are written and will be followed. Being merciful is negating justice. How can God embody all three?

    5. 2 Samuel 23 has always baffled me. Every time I read it, I wonder why David didn't drink the water which three of his men risked their lives to get for him. It seems ungrateful. What is God teaching us here? These verses are in a chapter about David's mighty men. Should the focus be on them and not David's offering to the Lord?

Does God Ever Tell Us That We're With The Wrong Person? Jun 22, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 471 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I have a dear friend who is a devout Mormon who believes she is a Christian. Now, I'm a Christian, and we were in a conversation the other day and she was talking about "the Prophet." How do I witness to my friend? She believes in Jesus Christ and talks about how Jesus Christ is her savior, but I know that Mormonism is a cult.

    2. What does Isaiah mean when in Isaiah 64:6 he says, "All our righteous acts are as filthy rags"?

    3. Why wasn't Joseph at Jesus' crucifixion? Any explanation will be of much help.

    4. Why was one of Noah's sons cursed and not the others?

    5. Does God ever tell us that we're with the wrong person, other than what is written in the Bible? Over a year ago, I walked into a lecture hall and I got the weirdest sense that I was supposed to be with someone I saw in the room. I dismissed the thought immediately. I'm happy with my partner. We are dating not married, and I don't want things to change. But the feeling kept coming back, so I prayed for wisdom and read the Bible. I then prayed for the feeling to go away. Now, I just feel stressed. I can't shake the sense that this isn't the life I'm intended to live, and I'm with the wrong person. I thought this feeling would go away once the semester was over, but it's been over a year. Does God ever do things like this?

Should We Sing to the Holy Spirit in Worship? Jun 19, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 470 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Where do evil and sin come from? Are they from Satan? Do we just have them?

    2. How should i understand church government? What kind of authority do elders have?

    3. I have been told that we shouldn't personally address the Holy Spirit in prayer or song because we don't see that anywhere in Scripture, but the Nicene Creed states that the Holy Spirit, "with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified." Is there any conflict here? I know from John's Gospel that the Spirit's role is to glorify the Son and to lead us in all truth (the Word), but can the Holy Spirit be the direct object of our worship?

    4. Could you explain what Jesus meant when he told us to "remember Lot's wife"? What does that mean for us today?

Is Satan to Blame for the Problems in the World? Jun 18, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 469 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Do we need to speak in tongues under the Holy Spirit in order to be received by the Father in heaven?

    2. In Ezekiel 40, God shows Ezekiel a vision of a temple. What temple is this, since the measurements do not fit the temples built under Ezra and Nehemiah,or by Herod? Now that there is no need for sacrifice because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, and there will not be a temple in heaven, what is the purpose of this vision? Where does this fit into prophetic history from Ezekiel's standpoint?

    3. A good friend of mine often says that Satan is the source of the problems we face in life. For example, her sister who is not a believer is going through a divorce, and she often says Satan is to blame and he wants to destroy marriages. Another scenario would be when she feels depressed. She will say that it's the Enemy. I would like to better understand what the Bible says about Satan's role in our sufferings. I do believe that Satan and the spiritual forces of evil are at work in the world, but if Satan can't be everywhere at once, how can we blame him for all our problems? What is the meaning of Ephesians 6:10–20 and how can we apply that to our lives as Christians?

    4. I'm concerned that I had a dream last night and the Lord gave me a message. His message was, "Your faith is as sand." Should I be worried that the Lord is trying to tell me that I am a weak Christian or that he is not happy with how I am living my life? I try to be a good Christian and live a clean life, but maybe there is something more I need to do.
