Is There A Time When Christians Should Stop Evangelizing? Jul 15, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 488 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I have a friend whose grown children show no interest in God, church, the Bible, or prayer. He says that he's trusting the baptismal covenant that his children will return to the Faith. Is that a correct view of baptism? It almost sounds like baptismal regeneration to me.

    2. It seems to me that the law is different from the Gospel because the law is something we do while the Gospel asks nothing from us. But 1 Peter 4:17 speaks of "those who do not obey the gospel of God." Can you help me distinguish between the law and the Gospel?

    3. I've recently been studying Genesis 3:16. I know the common interpretation of the verse is that a woman's desire for their husbands is about wanting to usurp their husband's authority. Some newer interpretations suggest this view is incorrect and it's more about the post-fall loss of the unity and harmony that the Lord intended for marriage. Is it right to assume Genesis 3:16 presumes that women just want to usurp authority? I feel like this view has some dangerous implications, particularly in regards to misogyny and abuse, but I want to follow Scripture correctly.

    4. I have a question which nags me because I have so many unsaved relatives. How often do I present them with the gospel? They never come to me to ask a question of any kind that might lead to a gospel conversation. I've gone to them over the years, they've all heard the gospel from me, and I pray for them all the time. It hit me this week that I don't see Jesus or the apostles running after anybody once they've heard the truth and turned away. Is that my example, too?

How Can I Serve God when My Heart is So Selfish? Jul 14, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 487 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. When Jesus called God Father in John 5:18, was this a new concept for the Jews, or did they have something like this in the OT?

    2. I thought I was a Christian, but then I got caught up in the lie that I was supposed to be the opposite sex. I went through with a sex change, but now I have realized it was all a lie. Am I an abomination unto God? Can I return to him?

    3. I have a question about two parables: Jesus describes himself as the good shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one sheep who went astray. How does this match with the parable of the prodigal son? Does Jesus seek us out or do we have to come to him of our own accord?

    4. When I read about Paul in the NT and how his whole purpose was to spread the gospel, it inspires me to be a better Christian. But I find myself with this almost selfish intention. I want to be seen as a superior Christian, almost like people in the Bible were. I want God to be so pleased with what I'm doing, not just like regular Christians, but someone willing to die for him. And so when I sin, I get mad at myself because I think God will look at me like a regular Christian, and that is such a selfish thought. And I just started crying in my car because of how selfish that is.

What Should I Do If I'm Having Homosexual Thoughts? Jul 13, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 486 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Why do we have denominations? Why can't we just worship as one?

    2. Will we be raised bodily like Christ was raised? If so, does this mean we'll have scars from our past as Jesus had? Will our burial grounds and casket be opened like Jesus' tomb was? Or was Jesus' bodily resurrection representative of our spiritual resurrection?

    3. How do I live out Romans 8:13 in everyday life?

    4. I'm 17, and I've been having lots of homosexual thoughts lately. I don't know what to even do. I pray about this issue more than nearly any other thing in my life, yet I feel like nothing has changed. I don't want to be like this for the rest of my life. How do I get rid of this temptation? What will happen to me if I become gay? Could you give some advice or biblical wisdom to help?

What Should I do When Church and Sports Compete? Jul 10, 2020

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I am a Christian who goes to church every Sunday, but I want to start gymnastics and most of the competitions are on Sunday morning. I'm wondering if it is okay if I miss a day of church (even though I don't want to)?

    2. I have a question about Genesis 6. I believe you would call them the Nephilim, or the sons of God, uniting with the daughters of men. That passage perplexes me.

    3. Romans 8:16 says, "The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God." I am now coming to understand that our ultimate grounds for assurance is in what Christ has objectively done for us. How are we to look at this verse in light of our present reality?

Should I Leave My Church If I Think It Is Changing for the Worse? Jul 09, 2020

Episode 484 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Why should I trust radio pastors? They ask people to put 100% of their trust in God, and then ask us to give our money or time to fill their coffers as they wear $1,000 suits! Does the Holy Spirit work better in expensive suits?

    2. How important do you believe it is to include a dedicated slot specifically for the public reading of Scripture in our worship service liturgies, and could you elaborate as to what most informs your thoughts?

    3. How, when, and what made God decide to have a specific group of people to call His own (Israel), especially when in the first place he created each and every person in his image? Why did he choose Israel and call other tribes his enemies and actually fight them using his chosen people?

    4. I am not happy with the direction my home church is going in. We have made several changes over the last year to become a more contemporary place. Could you provide me with some guidance on how to deal with these changes? online each Sunday and get connected with some friends each week?

Should the Church Allow Public Health to Impede Corporate Worship? Jul 08, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 483 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. In the Psalms, I've noticed that a lot of times that when the psalmist is praying, they seem to be making demands of God. For example, do this or that to my enemies. It seems quite disrespectful to me to talk like that to God, instead of using manners. Maybe this is justifiable?

    2. Why did Jesus tell all those whom he healed to not to tell anyone about Him?

    3. My son was a great kid growing up. When he went off to college, he got himself involved in things he had no business doing: alcohol, smoking. It has spiraled down from one thing to another and he admits he needs help. How can you help us?

    4. Is corporate worship commanded, and how is the church gathering together on Sunday morning different from and necessary in addition to personal and small group worship? If corporate worship is commanded, and if there is a particular purpose and benefit unique to corporate worship, then why has the church been so quick to allow healthcare to replace its worship of God as the driver in our obedience? If we can accomplish all the same things via zoom for example, then why not just join online each Sunday and get connected with some friends each week?

How Do I Trust the Promise of God From A Place of Need? Jul 07, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 482 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I was in a discussion with my friend about our beliefs. According to her, women are not able to cut their hair or wear pants. She sent me Deuteronomy 22:5, which talks about women not wearing men's clothes and 1 Corinthians 11:6, which talks about women not cutting their hair. Are we supposed to follow these commands as Christians? If not, how do we make sense of these commands in the Bible?

    2. What version of the Bible do you use on your show?

    3. I've heard the phrase "faith is like a muscle, the more we use it, the stronger it gets" very often in the Christian community. While it sounds like a great analogy, I just don't see it in the Bible. In Romans 12:3 Paul says God has assigned a measure of faith. Am I missing something?

    4. Jesus taught us not to worry about what we shall eat or wear. Philippians 4:19 promises that God will supply all our needs. Yet, believers in other countries starve to death because they didn't get the food they needed. I know the Bible is true, so there must be something wrong with my understanding. I desire to reconcile things I see with what I want to believe so that I can be confident in my trust of the Lord. He is certainly able to provide the basics for Christians, yet it seems like sometimes He doesn't. Please help!

    2. Was Saul similar to Judas, who walked with Jesus but never put his faith in him?

    3. What is the difference between John's baptism and Jesus Christ's baptism? Are these really two different baptisms? Does John's baptism confer to us the benefits of Christ? Could the believers in Acts 19 have repented and believed and still not have received the Holy Spirit in regeneration?

How Can Jesus Belong to the Royal Line of David if Mary Did Not? Jul 02, 2020

Episode 479 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I have heard some Christians claim that Acts 16:6 proves that God does not want to save everybody since Paul was forbidden to speak in Asia. Yet Paul and those with him were not the only evangelists. Sometimes it seems like the church in the US acts like the rest of the world doesn't exist, and I'm wondering if this tendency can be traced even to how we read the Bible?

    2. How can Stephen call the Jews stiff-necked people if it is God that changed his heart?

    3. I know someone who is believing and accepting as truth this book entitled "The Sacred Mushroom and The Cross." I wonder if you could steer me in a good direction in order to properly address this book and its contents with knowledge and grace.

    4. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the promised seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham, to whom belongs the everlasting throne promised to David. A lot of work went into preserving that seed, but then in Matthew 1, we are told that Jesus was born to the Virgin Mary, even though it was Joseph who was connected to the royal line of David. How does this work?
