Are there Different Levels to the Holy Spirit's Anointing? Aug 12, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 508 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Are God's promises conditional on our actions? If we don't forgive others, will he not forgive us? Do I fall out of God's favor every time I sin?

    2. Does God control governments, history, and policies in order to fulfill all that he promises to do?

    3. Can Christians have the Holy Spirit in the same way the early disciples did at Pentecost?

    4. What is the difference between the soul, the spirit, and the flesh, which is like our body? What is the difference between those three, and are the soul and the spirit the same thing?

    5. A pastor recently said that there is a difference between knowing that you are a sinner and actually mourning over your sin. God has shown me that I am a sinner, that I cannot make myself good enough for him, and that I need Jesus. But I don't remember mourning my sin, and I feel like I'm mentally torturing myself to see if I am truly saved. What does it mean to mourn your sin? What makes it true mourning?

Did Jesus Break the Law When He Healed on the Sabbath? Aug 11, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 507 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. When Christ died on the cross was he in hell for 3 days?

    2. Should we pray for healing to escape our suffering, or strength to endure it?

    3. Did God write the law to save us? Did Jesus break the law when he healed on the sabbath, or his disciples when they plucked grain in the fields?

    4. In the parable of the lamp in Luke 8:18, why does Jesus say to "give more" to "the one who has" and to "the one who has not, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away"?

    5. In Psalm 73 says, "Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart." Is God only good to those who are pure in heart? How can I ever find God's goodness knowing that I still commit all kinds of sin?

Is My Fear a Hindrance to God's Love? Aug 10, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 506 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. How should I pray for immediate healing?

    2. Are we sinful because we're evil, or are we evil because we're sinful?

    3. I have a question about 1 John 4:18. "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." What does it mean that there is punishment in fear? I was recently diagnosed with cancer and I'm finding myself very fearful. I'm just wondering what the punishment part has to do with my situation?

    4. I have a question concerning 1 Corinthians 5:5. What does Paul mean when he says he is delivering the sinning member of that church over to Satan for the "destruction of his flesh"?

Is Heaven Our Happy Home Or a Temporary Hotel? Aug 07, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 505 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Can a Christian get their faith back after losing it?

    2. Truthfulness is an important matter. No one wants to believe in something that is not true. How can we defend and proclaim the truthfulness of our Christian faith and the Bible?

    3. In 1 Corinthians 11:34–35, it says women must be silent in the churches. This verse just really bothered me when I first read it. I know Paul is speaking to the Corinthian church, but I was wondering if you could clear this up?

    4. When Christians die, do we remain "asleep" until the glorious return of our Savior, Jesus, or do we go to heaven to be with Him immediately upon our death? It seems to me like the Bible teaches both.

    5. As I was reading the book of Mark I noticed that it said 16:9–20 is not included in some of the earliest manuscripts. What do you think of this section? Is this an important piece of scripture that we must read?

Is the Trinity Like an Egg? Aug 06, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 504 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. I have a couple of friends who say that Jesus has come to them and spoken to them in their dreams. Most recently, they said that Jesus came to them and said UFO's were real and angel's chariots. I kind of cringe any time I hear that. I wanted to know, what are your thoughts on Jesus coming to people in their dreams?

    2. As an introvert, I've actually enjoyed being at home more these days. I actually worry about when life goes back to normal because I don't want to lose the joy and contentment I've been experiencing. Is this wrong?

    3. Is thinking about our Triune God as an egg Modalism? The egg, egg white, and shell are three separate things but still one egg, like how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three separate things but all God. Is this a valid way of thinking or not?

    4. I asked Jesus Christ to be my savior a while back, but I can't stop drinking, smoking, and cussing. I've tried everything. What can I do?

Are Miracles the Mark of a True Christian? Aug 05, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 503 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. What book do you recommend to best start a study on the book of Revelation?

    2. If God forgives all our sins when we put our faith in him, what about our future sins? Are they also forgiven?

    3. My question is from Matthew 11:19. It says the Pharisees called Jesus a glutton and a drunkard. So did Jesus actually get drunk, because why would someone call someone else a drunkard if he didn't drink alcohol? And just to be clear I'm 100% Christian, my faith and hope are in Jesus Christ, I'm just asking from a secular point of view.

    4. Are Christians today called to perform the same miracles as the disciples did in the Scriptures? Preach the word, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, that kind of stuff.

Jesus, Gender, and the Gospel in the Modern World Aug 04, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 502 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Did Old Testament believers experience the new birth? I mean, were they born again?

    2. I've dealt with pornography since I was probably 7 years old, and I can't let it go. I want to. How can I? I've gone to God and asked for forgiveness more times than not. I need help. I call myself a Christian, but I can't get past that, so I can't move.

    3. I'm a high school teacher in Canada, and one of my goals is to treat my students as Jesus would treat them. One of the struggles I face is that I'm receiving some pressure to use gender pronouns that students would prefer. This means that students who identify as transgendered who are born with female anatomy might be asked to be referred to with the pronoun he or him. In the past, I've been taught that using pronouns that deviate from a male and female identity will ruin my Christian witness. How can I respond in a godly way to this issue, while still treating my students with love and respect? Do you have any advice for me?

What Happens If I Die Before I Am Baptized? Aug 03, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 501 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. In Matthew 12, Jesus said that an evil and unfaithful generation asked for signs. But in the previous chapter, when John the Baptist doubted if Jesus was the Christ, why did Jesus point to his miraculous works? And why would he perform so many miracles if only the wicked and faithless desire them?

    2. Is there a doctrine or something that churches have that we can call or check online to see if they study or believe in the same way that we do, as each of us believes differently?

    3. What happens if I die before I'm baptized? Are there rules on who exactly can baptize you?

    4. I recently heard a sermon on justification and it mentioned the active obedience of Christ. I hadn't heard the term before, but one of my friends said it wasn't biblical but part of a man-made theology. Is there any biblical or historical evidence for this teaching?

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. What would you say is at the core of the answers you give us? What is the heart of your show?

    2. I've been a life-long Christian, and I believe that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I know that He sustains me, but there's one place in my life right now that I'm fighting: loneliness. How can I seek solace in my loneliness?

    3. Is there a biblical basis for preferring that heads be bowed and eyes closed when praying? In corporate prayer, when asked, "Let us bow our heads in prayer," is it disrespectful to instead raise one's face heavenward (which is how I like to pray)?

Will God Reward My Good Works When I Reach Heaven? Jul 30, 2020
    Show notes

Episode 499 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions.

    Show Notes

    CoreChristianity.com

Key questions answered in today's show:

    1. Getting to church with our children is often stressful. This last Sunday I said some harsh words to my kids, threatening them with discipline. In the moment I felt justified, but I also know I spoke out of anger, not love. I really want our family to be at church to hear the call to worship, but I am terrified that my behavior is only making my kids despise going to church. What can I do?

    2. Whether I pray right or pray wrong, will God always hear my prayer?

    3. Does Ephesians 2:8-9 contradict Revelation 22:12? Is Jesus returning with a reward that is something other than salvation that can be earned by works? Or is the "what they have done" in Revelation 22:12 simply the act of believing in Christ?

    4. Matthew 22:30 says, "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven." If God instituted marriage for us on earth, why would he remove it in the afterlife?
