Winter, Spring, Summer, And Fall, They're Available Every Season Dec 28, 2022
    Show notes

In this episode, Rich and cohost Joe Ayler have a conversation with Chris Coleman.
You could say landscaping is in Chris' blood. His father initially started the landscape company before Chris was born, so it was no shock when Chris started working for the company while in high school and was Superintendent of all crews not long after graduating. Chris spent the following years learning all aspects of the business and even working for another landscape company for a year to round out his experience and knowledge. When his father passed away in 2013, he and his wife, Sarah, knew they wanted to take over. While some rebranding was involved, their goal was to build a strong company with a focus on high-quality work and knowledgeable solutions, and Four Seasons Nursery & Landscape Services was born.

Chris believes learning and growth never stop, and being stagnant is moving backwards. This focus on improvement has led him to seek out certifications and experience to make him a subject matter expert in areas like stormwater management and erosion issues, native and rain gardens, fertilizer and pesticide applications, and safety. He has maintained his pesticide applicator certification for commercial and private use, the fertilizer applicator and business license, his Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) license, extensive OSHA training, certification through the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professionals, including the pro certification, buffers certification, and crews certification, as well as Maryland Department of the Environment, State Highway Administration, and Harford County certifications for erosion and sediment control, among many others.

Chris has enjoyed the opportunity to help build the family business and expand from landscape maintenance into hardscape, drainage, and landscape installs, and now into stormwater maintenance for residential, commercial, and government clients. The expansion brought a name change to fully encompass the services offered. Through his experience and knowledge, Four Seasons Landscape & Construction Services has developed a reputation for quality, reliability, and the ability to solve complex problems through best practices. Clients know they are hiring a family-owned and operated business with deep roots in this area, allowing Four Seasons to develop long-lasting relationships with clients based on trust. Trust in communication. Trust in reliability. And trust in the knowledge and experience of all staff members, starting with Chris and Sarah, and through all office and field staff.

Focusing on Kore Issues is Essential in Addiction Recovery Dec 26, 2022
    Show notes

In this episode, Rich and cohosts Wendy Beck and Jennifer Hathaway have a conversation with Kelly Backert.
Kelly tells us about her battle with addictions and her road to recovery. Now she's helping others with her Kore brand.
Kelly and her husband, Matt, own a fitness business called Kore Bootcamps. She finds it rewarding to assist others in learning how to improve their health and happiness. She believes it is her mission in life to teach others how to have a healthy perspective on body image, nutrition, and physical activity. She thinks that one's value cannot be gauged by their weight alone. There is no such thing as a flawless or disciplined life. It's about making headway and giving one's all to the causes one cares about.

Leaving The Computer Field For Less Stress And More Money Dec 14, 2022
    Show notes

In this episode, Rich has a conversation with Chris Myles.
Chris and his wife tied the knot in 2013, and they welcomed their first child, a son, in 2016. His wife sat him down and said that she needed to leave her $40,000 per year job in order to offer "mommy-care" rather than "day-care" for their child.
So Chris began his online business endeavors with specialized blogging, video sharing website YouTube, and affiliate programs. After 18 months, they had enough money to pay off their debt and his wife could finally retire.
Chris is a major fan of Marvel movies and admits to being a Seinfeld and The Office nerd. Investments and e-commerce are two other areas of interest for him.

His background includes a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA license and he’s a certified ontological coach with Newfield Network. He works with business owners to help them turn their businesses into what he’s labeled “the well-oiled machine” process.

    1. Actionable financial data limiting the owner to one hour per week.

      • Detailed narrative of monthly financial statements with recommendations for improvement and strategic planning strategies.
    2. Elimination of dysfunction. Get the business systems dependent rather than people dependent. Pull the owner out of managing the minutiae.
    3. Install and embrace long-range strategic planning as a regular process of designing the business for the future.

Cary has coached thousands of people and helped hundreds of businesses throughout his career.

He is a public speaker and hosted the “Financial Design Hour” on WJBO radio in Baton Rouge for several years.
