    Blake brought with him his favorite Blanket as he and Tony talk about Craig Thompson’s award winning, auto-biographical masterpiece, Blankets.

    Blankets is an autobiographical graphic novel by Craig Thompson, published in 2003 by Top Shelf Productions. As a coming-of-age autobiography, the book tells the story of Thompson's childhood in an Evangelical Christian family, his first love, and his early adulthood.
    The book was widely acclaimed, with Time magazine ranking it #1 in its 2003 Best Comics list, and #8 in its Best Comics of the Decade.

    Star Wars: Comics In Canon - Ep 70: Vader Meets Ackbar, Is Hunted By Tarkin & Discovers The Death Star (Darth Vader #13-18 & A2) Sep 11, 2021

    Mike embarks on the third volume of the 2017 Darth Vader comics; The Burning Seas, tackling plot points of Vader confronting Gial Ackbar & King Lee-Char on Mon Cala, hunting down an ex-jedi padawan, before he is then hunted by Tarkin and Annual 2 shows him discovering the true power of the Death Star, all in one great episode! Mike also gives more information on numerous connections including the inquisitorius, Mon Cala & their star cruisers, Tarkin and so much more – this is a must-listen for any fans of the Dark Lord or Star Wars in general!

    These comics are set just approximately 1 year after Revenge Of The Sith, in 18 BBY.

    All standard issues were written by Charles Soule, with Giuseppe Camuncoli as penciller, Daniele Orlandini as inker and David Curiel as colour artist for all issues excluding 16, as Java Tartaglia & Guru eFX are colourists on issue 16.
    Darth Vader Annual 2 was written by Chuck Wendig, with Leonard Kirk as penciller, Walden Wong & Scott Hanna as inkers and Nolan Woodard as colour artist.
    Issue 13 was released March 2018, issue 18 & Annual 2 were released July 2018, the trade paperback collection was released April 2018 and the hardcover of volumes 1&2 was released October 2018. The omnibus with all 2017 Vader comics will be released October 2021.
    This story is heavily linked to the 8th volume of 2015 Star Wars comics (Mutiny On Mon Cala) which are issues 44-49 and Mike tackled these on ep 48 of SWCIC.

    Mike tackled the first two volumes of 2017 Vader in ep 62 & 66 of SWCIC. For the 2015 Vader run (set after A New Hope), check out episodes 15, 17, 19, 23 & 29 of SWCIC, plus ep 41 features the Vader: Dark Visions anthology mini-series and ep 49 is the Target Vader mini-series.

    Charles Soule wrote the High Republic novel Light Of The Jedi as well as the following SW mini-series; Rise Of Kylo Ren (in ep 1 of SWCIC), Obi-Wan & Anakin (ep 11) and Lando (ep 18).

    Check out the last episode of SWCIC where Mike embarked on the final issues of the 2015 main Star Wars run of comics; Rogues & Rebels!     CiM Book Club: Maus by Art Spiegelman with Dave Horrocks, Tony Farina, Mike Burton, JAC, Ria Carrogan & Superdummy Paul! Sep 10, 2021

    Welcome to the second Comics In Motion Book Club! This month we're tackling Art Spiegelman's classic graphic novel, Maus. Originally serialized from 1980 to 1991, it takes us through Art's interviews with his father, Vladek, about being a holocaust survivor and representing Jews as mice, Germans as cats, and Poles as pigs. This masterpiece is the only graphic novel to win a Pulitzer Prize, and the book club is the perfect place to discuss.

    Dave Horrocks (TV & Movies) is on hosting duties and joining him is a star-studded cast of the Comics In Motion family! We have Tony Farina, Mike Burton, JAC, Ria Carrogan & Superdummy Paul! The biggest challenge was keeping this down to less than 2 hours!

    Star Wars 73-75 were written by Greg Pak, with Phil Noto as the artist and colour artist. “An Echo Of Victory” from Empire Ascendant was written by Charles Soule with Luke Ross as artist, Guru eFX as colour artist. Issue 73 of Star Wars was released October 2019, issue 75 was released November 2019, Empire Ascendant was released December 2019 and the trade paperback collection was released March 2020.

Qi’ra & Crimson Dawn hold the auction for Han Solo frozen-in-carbonite, gathering the most notorious crime syndicates in the galaxy as well as piquing the interest of the Empire & the Rebellion! Mike provides tonnes of connections to other SW content as well as exploring the many different perspectives & double-crosses in the next chapter in this tantalising tale!

    This story is set just after Empire Strikes Back (& after the first runs of the Star Wars, Darth Vader & Doctor Aphra comics)and the reading order is BH14>DA12>WoBH2>DV14>Jabba>SW15.

    BH14 was released 7th July 2021, it written by Ethan Sacks with Paolo Villanelli as artist and Arif Prianto as colour artist. DA12 was released 14th July 2021, it written by Alyssa Wong with Minkyu Jung as penciller, Victor Olazaba as inker and Rachelle Rosenberg as colour artist. WoBH 2 was released 14th July 2021, it written by Charles Soule with Luke Ross as artist and Neeraj Menon as colour artist. DV14 was released 21stJuly 2021, was written by Greg Pak with Raffaele Ienco as artist and Jason Keith as colour artist. Jabba The Hutt 1 was released July 21st2021, was written by Justina Ireland with the “present” artist as Ibraim Robertson and colour artist as Edgar Delgado while the flashbacks have Luca Pizzari as artist and Giada Marchisio as colour artist. SW15 was released 28thJuly 2021, it was written by Charles Soule with Ramon Rosanas as artist and Rachelle Rosenberg as colour artist.

    In case you missed the War of The Bounty Hunters prelude and chapter 1, check episode 60 & 64 of SWCIC and check ep 43 for the Age of Rebellion Villains, which includes stories for Jabba, Boba, IG-88 and Vader, along with additional bio information.

    TV & Movie Reviews: Doctor Strange 1978 TV Pilot Aug 27, 2021

    Back in 1978 the Doctor Strange pilot aired and was intended to spin off another Marvel based tv show, like the Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man. But CBS didn't pick it up and this pilot was left to gather dust. Directed by Philip DeGuere Jr. and starring Peter Hooten, Clyde Kusatsu, Jessica Walter, Anne-Marie Martin, Philip Sterling and John Mills.

    Plot

    Thomas Lindmer (Sir John Mills), a world-weary sorcerer, foresees the return to Earth of his ancient adversary Morgan LeFey (Jessica Walter), who has been granted dominance over men's souls by The Nameless One (David Hooks). In order to combat her evil magic, Lindmer must pass the Guardianship of the Light onto a young psychiatry-resident, Dr. Stephen Strange (Peter Hooten), who has no inkling of his destiny.

    Mars is a 1984 American comic book series published by First Comics that ran for 12 issues. Inspired by the pulp science fiction stories of the 1930s and 1940s, creators Mark Wheatleyand Marc Hempel collaborated on the story featuring a group of explorers and engineers sent to Mars with the goal of terraformingthe red planet. When all communication with earth is lost, the team of terraformers must make a decision that will not only forever change their lives but perhaps the future of the human race.
