Moving on to "Hobby Headlines," the guys get deep into what the future of the hobby might look like with recent news from Fanatics that the company aspires to be a "one-stop shop" in five years when its MLB and NBA licensing deals come into effect (and all the current players in the hobby that might be in trouble including PSA, PWCC, local card stores, eBay). Clark, Hyung and John also introduce a new segment called "Tricks of the Trade" where they offer tips and advice on anything hobby related including how to find good sports card deals on eBay, and when to buy sports cards. In a new segment called "Hobby Shoutout," Clark, Hyung, and John give props to those who they go to in the hobby for education and/or entertainment value (such as Scott Baldwin (@scottie_b_cards on Instagram), Geoff Wilson (@sportscardinvestor) and Sasha T (@sashatamaddon). They wrap up the show with the regular "Pick One" segment where they offer two players/cards/sets, and then debate which one they'd rather invest in. Strategies To Making Short-Term Flips; Playing On A Budget (High-Roller Edition); And More Hot Takes (Knicks Will Win the Championship? Trout Cards Are Overvalued? Jokic Goes Back to Back MVP?) Sep 21, 2021
    Show notes

EPISODE 16 - Clark, Hyung, and John revisit their discussion on who deserves to win the AL MVP (Vladdy vs. Shohei) and whose sports card they'd rather invest in now. Plus they get into their strategies of flipping cards in-season (or short-term flips) as a way to possibly build capital and invest in bigger cards. The guys also play "On A Budget" but this time it's the "high-roller edition" where they choose cards they like to invest in if they had $2,000, $5,000, and $10,000. To wrap up the show, they return to the "Pick One" segment, the hot takes edition, where they offer two hot takes and each one chooses which is more likely to happen, and what might be the sports card implications of that.

QB Picks With Major Card Value Upside As New NFL Season Begins; New "Buy Buy Buy" Segment Showcasing Recent Sports Cards Bought; Hot Takes Galore (ie. Vladdy over Shohei as AL MVP?) Sep 14, 2021
    Show notes

EPISODE 15 - Clark, Hyung, and John talk about the recent PSA update announcement and whether that changes anything (not really). Plus they give their QB picks and NBA sleepers for this upcoming season on who can potentially see their card value jump. And in the name of transparency, each of the guys discuss sports cards they recently bought and why they're super high on the player. The show caps off with the popular Pick One segment but this time with a twist. Instead of choosing two players to pit against each other (and then debating on which is the better investment), the guys give two hot takes and then they debate on which of the hot takes are more likely to happen (ie. Luka Doncic never wins an NBA Championship vs. Connor McDavid never wins a Stanley Cup).

    Show notes

EPISODE 14: Clark, Hyung, and John usually talk about buying and selling sports cards, but in this episode, they get into the art of trading in the hobby and how to do so as safe and secure as possible (whether it's via Kijiji, Instagram or any other platform). Then the guys all pick one sports card they think is undervalued and can potentially explode in the Ready For Launch segment. Plus, they play "Pick One" again pitting two athletes or cards against each other to debate which one they rather invest in. This week's Pick One pairs include: Trevor Lawrence vs. Aaron Rodgers; 1st Bowman vs. Topps Flagship; and '90s Basketball Rare Inserts vs. Modern Basketball Case Hits.

Underrated Plays In The Hobby; Which Trade Won (Mike Trout Bowman Chrome Xfractor Rookie vs. Fernando Tatis 1/1 Flagship Platinum)?; Stories About Playing With Joey Votto and Dustin Pedroia Aug 31, 2021
    Show notes

EPISODE 13: Clark, Hyung, and John discuss some underrated plays in the hobby, which is any play that more collectors should probably be thinking about to yield a good ROI in their sports card investments (ie. Investing in SGC 10 Sports Cards and Using "John's Ratios" to find deals). Plus the guys play Fast Five again, choosing whether they would buy, sell, or hold on these recently retired five athletes this week: Drew Brees; Eli Manning; Maria Sharapova; Dustin Pedroia; Vince Carter. Speaking of Pedroia, Hyung recalls what it was like to play against him in his freshman year (as well as a fun story about playing with a young Joey Votto back in 2005...in Amsterdam). And to close off the episode, John puts up a recent mega card trade in this week's "Pick One" segment. Which trade would you say won between the 2009 Mike Trout Bowman Chrome Xfractor Rookie Card and the 2019 Fernando Tatis Topps Flagship 1/1 Platinum Card?

Possible Scenarios In A Fanatics (and Topps-less?) Sports Card World; Dissecting The PWCC Vs. eBay Bombshell News; "On A Budget" Segment Returns Aug 24, 2021
    Show notes

EPISODE 12: Clark, Hyung, and John go right into discussing the two major pieces of hobby news starting with the incredible Fanatics licensing deal with MLB and MLBPA. They play out scenarios on how that might impact the hobby including potentially living in a Topps-less world. And if that news wasn't enough, the guys also give their take on eBay suspending PWCC, one of the biggest consigners in the hobby, after accusing them of practising shill bidding on their auctions. And they squeeze in and bring back the "On A Budget" segment where Clark, Hyung, and John, each choose a card they would invest in for $100, $500, and $1,000.

Plus they revisit the "Dead Wrong" segment where they share some of their mistakes made in the hobby that they've learned from. And they play "Pick One" again pitting two players and/or cards against each other, and then debate which one they'd rather invest in. The pairs for this week include: Ken Griffey Jr. 1989 Upper Deck (PSA 10) vs. Derek Jeter 1993 SP Foil (BGS 9); Color Blast Inserts vs. Blank Slate Inserts; Ronald Acuna 2018 Topps Update White Jersey SSP #US250 vs. Ronald Acuna 2018 Topps Chrome Sapphire #698.
