    Show notes

EPISODE 10: Clark, Hyung and John have fun talking about so-called "error cards" – some worth thousands of dollars, some with crazy theories and stories behind them, and others just plain bizarre including an "obscene" C3PO card that you have to search on eBay to believe. The guys also suggest what card they would buy now for $100, $500, and $1,000 in a new podcast segment called, "On A Budget." And they "Pick One" again in the final segment with each choosing two athletes or cards and debating which one they would rather invest in. This week's pairs include: Miguel Cabrera 2000 Topps Chrome vs. Albert Pujols 2001 Topps Chrome / Anthony Davis 2012 Panini Prizm (PSA 10) vs. Devin Booker 2015 Panini Prizm (PSA 10) / Lewis Hamilton 2020 Topps Chrome vs. Conor McGregor 2021 Panini Prizm.

And lastly, the "Ready For Launch" segment returns with Clark, Hyung, and John each selecting one card they think might be slept on right now, but could "launch" in value in the near future.

Plus they get into some non-rookie cards that are worth a look as potential big-time investments. Clark also takes his turn in the Top 5 segment and lists his favorite Trae Young rookie cards. And the guys play "Pick One" with a twist this week – each of them presented their own respective pair of players for the others to debate on who they'd rather invest in. This week's choices include: Bo Bichette vs. Rafael Devers (Hyung); LaMelo Ball vs. Justin Herbert (John); and Damian Lillard vs. Jayson Tatum (Clark). Oh, there's also another story from Hyung about the time his team faced a young(er) Bichette during an exhibition game – he became a Bichette believer after one particular at-bat.

    Show notes

EPISODE 5: Clark, Hyung, and John, get into the sports cards and sets they feel get no "hobby love" curiously and unjustifiably, as well as some hobby products where the hate has gone too far (like Upper Deck Basketball – the posterboy of the 1990s junk wax era?) Plus, the guys share some of their past predictions and moves in the hobby that haven't worked out (yet) in a new segment called, "Dead Wrong." And they play another round of "Fast Five" this week, deciding if they would buy/sell/hold on the following players: Justin Herbert, Keston Hiura, Pete Alonso, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Paul George.

Discussing "Hobby Logic" and Things That Only Make Sense in the Hobby; And Ranking Kobe Bryant's Top Five Sports Cards Jun 29, 2021
    Show notes

EPISODE 4: Clark, Hyung, and John discuss things that only make sense in the hobby – otherwise referred to as "hobby logic." For instance, why are numbered Panini Select basketball cards worth less than some base Panini Prizm cards of the same player? Or why are shimmer and wave and other alternate refractors/parallels so undervalued compared to the same numbered "true refractors?" Or why are so-called "flagship" rookie cards worth much more even though the card design is ugly? Two words: Hobby logic. John also shares his top five Kobe Bryant basketball cards, and a bonus top five list of Kobe insert cards (so a top 10 list, really); and they also play "Pick One" again choosing which sports card to invest in between Sidney Crosby vs. Connor McDavid / Clayton Kershaw vs. Jacob deGrom / Kevin Durant vs. Stephen Curry.

Are We Entering the Junk Slab Era? And Ranking Fernando Tatis Jr.'s Top Five Rookie Cards Jun 22, 2021
    Show notes

EPISODE 3: Clark, Hyung and John discuss whether the so-called Junk Slab Era is upon us, especially with loads of slabs expected to return from PSA relatively soon. Will it result in a further dip in the sports card market or even scare away investor types to look for alternative investments outside the hobby? Hyung also ranks his top five Fernando Tatis Jr. rookie cards in the new "Top Five" segment (he actually chooses eight or so cards). Plus the guys play "Pick One" again in which they decide who to invest in between Devin Booker and Donovan Mitchell, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Shohei Ohtani.

They also decide which cards to buy, sell, or hold in this week's "Fast Five" segment that includes: Tyler Herro / Lamelo Ball / Serena Williams / Connor McDavid / Jarred Kelenic. Plus a new segment is introduced in this podcast episode called "Pick One" in which they choose one player to invest in of the two athletes presented. And just for fun, the boys guess how many Instagram followers Cristiano Ronaldo currently has (their guesses were way off.)

And the guys choose whether they would buy or sell (or hold) on five players in the "Fast Five" segment, which include the following this week: Luis Robert / Shohei Ohtani / Trae Young / Ja Morant / Deshaun Watson.
