The Lost Art Of Sexual Polarity - MTP309 Jun 24, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Zan Perrion (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/zan) Post-modern culture is pitting men and women against each other more and more as time passes. So who is left to make the case for the glory of men and women having the hots for each other? It seems like a weird question, but my friend Zan Perrion and I are left to stand in the gap. Zan loves women more than any man I've ever met (even myself), and proves it every day of his life. Listen in as he rekindles the case for masculinity and femininity as divinely-inspired intelligent design. Why are so many men afraid to express their natural attraction to women nowadays, especially given that heterosexual women WANT heterosexual men? What should our response be to this trend of aggressive fighting strategy toward women who hate men, or even men who hate women? Are you some sort of simp for having positive regard for women? Where did that fear even come from? What if our biggest complaints about interacting with women are really nothing more than weak excuses? What significant mental shift would transform most men's views and behaviors toward being a sexual man? Next, get Zan's thoughts on sexual equality versus 'sameness'. What is it about eye contact and non-verbal communication that so powerfully draws men and women to each other? Why is it so many men get hung up over romance? What is it women really want and need when they crave a man who's romantic? The June Masterclass For Men is called, 'How To Make Women Love You'. Weaponized Words Wreak Wreckage - MTP308 Jun 17, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Emily McKay (https://www.deservewhatyouwant.com) As the lyrics of one of Tyler Childers' songs say, 'There is hurt you can cause that time alone cannot heal'. When it comes to our interactions with women, a breathtaking amount of that pain is caused by what we say...or what SHE says. And when we get into a relationship, the stakes get even higher. Emily and I get straight to the point in this episode, first addressing the weird childhood refrain that 'sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me'. So then, what about childhood? How does what our parents--and maybe even teachers--tell us form our views of and expectations toward future romantic relationship? What's the truth about how early-stage communication between men and women can deeply impact BOTH participants, both in the short-term and the longer-term? What are the differences between how men and women tend to process conversational conflict...and the surprising similarities? What are the patterns that lead to couples blurting out extremely painful barbs at each other...and how can we guard against saying that which can never be unsaid? In what ways can be arm ourselves with wisdom so as to prevent harmful insults, angry threats and heated 'confessions' from ever being uttered to begin with? What subjects should couples absolutely avoid if they want to avoid bitterness and resentment? Finally, listen in for some practical, actionable habits that Emily and I have adopted within the framework of our marriage to ensure our conversations remain productive...even when we're cranky? Make A Woman Your Partner, Not Your Adversary - MTP307 Jun 10, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Allana Pratt (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/pratt) The last time Allana was on, she spoke memorably about how a woman recharges a warrior's masculine energy with femininity. So when I started considering the topic of men and women being in partnership with each other rather than being adversarial, she was the first co-host who came to mind. And sure enough, this show delivers. Let's face it, there's just way too much out there about men and women lacking trust for each other, or even flat out not liking each other. Yet, if you think about it, the natural order of things dictates that men and women are designed to be together. So what happened here in post-modernity? What has contributed to the rampant blame game between men and women? What patterns of failur result in us thinking the other gender is no darned good? How has our 21st-century culture of self-absorption impacted relationships? Is our wife or girlfriend really OURS? Listen in as Allana makes a solid case for partnership being better than the sum of the individual parts. Plenty of couples go through hardship--or even crisis and tragedy--and end up breaking up. Meanwhile, other couples emerge stronger together. What's the difference maker? If we happen to have fallen into a habit of blame, what exactly do we replace it with after we get rid of it? Do you really have to give up selfhood to be in partnership with a woman? Well, of course not...but what does that look like in daily life? And finally, what are some practical steps we can actually DO to increase our level of partnership with women? Where do you stand on all of this? Isn't it time to find a PARTNER you can't wait to wake up to every morning? Let's talk about it 25 minutes for FREE. https://mountaintoppodcast.com

    What You Don't Know Will Kill You - MTP306 Jun 03, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host David Medansky (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/antidiet) Let's face it. There are a whole lot of things we are doing--either sins of commission or omission--that are shortening our lifespan as men. Not coincidentally, some of these same questionable habits are also making us less attractive to women and less likely to get ahead in our careers. Yet, we stubbornly refuse to modify our course...even when we know we're not doing ourselves any darned good. But here's the thing, the truly insidious part is we're probably also doing things that we have NO IDEA are killing us. Enter my guest, David Medansky. Now sure, like me David lost 50 pounds. But see, he doesn't believe for a second that dieting as you know it is good for you at all. For example, how are we supposed to differentiate between good, solid wisdom and convincing marketing tactics? Do you really have to get older and slower by default? What is the one simple, easy and cheap thing we can do immediately to be healthier all around and live longer, yet the vast majority of American men do NOT do? Despite the title of the episode, what are some other things we KNOW we should be doing, but don't? What is the biggest change to our culture in the last fifty years that is straight-up KILLING us...with our happy permission? What is it about our food supply that we don't know, but is definitely hazardous to our health? Are you a 'stealth mode soy boy'? This all-important episode might not only change your life, it may prolong it. Get in on the latest Masterclass For Men at https://mountaintoppodcast.com/masterclass. Whatever Happened To Rites Of Passage? - MTP305 May 27, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Tommy Breedlove (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/legendary) Without rites of passage, we aren't as well-equipped to face the reality of adult life. This used to be a foregone conclusion in cultures all over the world, for both men and women. There was a clear rite of passage from childhood into adulthood. But such has become purely symbolic in Western culture, if not rendered completely irrelevant. What happened to rites of passage? And more importantly, WHY did they all but disappear? And what has the impact been on our lives? My guest is bestselling author Tommy Breedlove. He is not only returning for his third appearance on this show, he's an erstwhile member of the board for the Rites of Passage Council. We have bar mitzvahs, graduations and weddings...but why do those ceremonial rites of passage fall short of really turning boys into men? Indeed, elaborate and far more intimidating ones are still a big part of cultures like the Maasai. What are rites of passage meant to teach us...and how are they still relevant in today's world? Is fatherlessness part of the problem? Expectation of a university degree, delayed marriage and generally prolonged adolescence is a 20th century development...how has that messed up taking on adult responsibility? Whatever the societal trends, the end result is there are WAY too many 'man boys' in today's world. Is an unsung value of military service that nobody has ever emerged from it still a little boy? A particularly troubling issue occurs when men who don't leave their parents house by the end of adolescence. And what about other rite of passage...from childhood to adulthood, student to workforce, single to married, and especially from adult to elderhood? And isn't it a travesty that the next time we see some of our family is at their funerals...after they're dead. Tune into the latest Masterclass For Men on respect at https://mountaintoppodcast.com

Your Sexual Fantasies Are Too Small - MTP304 May 20, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Kenneth Play (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/kenneth) My guest Kenneth Play has been called The World's Greatest Sex Hacker by numerous media outlets. Whatever you can imagine is possible sexually with women, he has probably experienced it. In particular, Kenneth is well-versed in how to bring out a woman's sexual fantasies. Dating back to Nancy Friday's book My Secret Garden, it has been well established that women typically are full of deranged, horny, dirty thoughts. But most of us as men never lift the veil to see what's truly under there. I mean, we usually won't even face our OWN sexual fantasies, right? What are some of the most basic and common female sexual fantasies? Why is taboo such a turn on...yet it's more common to fantasize about such things than we think? And why do men talk about all the chicks they're bagging, or even their penis size...but never about the techniques they use? Meanwhile, how do women talk about their sex lives with other women? Why is any talk about sexual fantasy perceived as SO shameful, let alone acting on it? How do our sexual fantasies intersect with the probability of experiencing it in real life? Would most of us chicken out if confronted with the opportunity to actually make them happen? Does being a man of faith conflict with sexual fantasy? Does today's post-modern culture actually encourage more sexual fantasy or simply contribute to sexual frustration? Are some sexual fantasies better off being left alone rather than realized? And when that's NOT the case, how can we be more adventurous in exploring them? Wait until you hear Kenneth talk about 'woke porn', and why it doesn't exist. Also, he freely discusses sexual stereotypes of being an Asian Man...and how he blasted through them. Get in on this month's Masterclass on respect here: https://mountaintoppodcast.com

Does The Right Woman Make You Live Longer? - MTP303 May 13, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Hosts Dr. Michael and Dr. Barbara Grossman (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/grossman) You've probably heard that those who are in a long-term relationship live longer. Well, my guests are specialists in that area. In this episode, they reveal exactly what we can and should do to make sure that happens. Can you believe there was an 80 year study to find out the truth behind this? What are the baseline rules for making sure you're in the right relationship with the right woman to promote longevity? What if we're already in a relationship that is likely the opposite of that? Even though the premise of this episode isn't completely gender-specific, why is it especially pertinent to men?How do maturity and responsibility intersect with all of this? As we go through different life stages during a relationship, how does the dynamic change that keeps us thriving over the long haul? What is the medical science perspective on all of that? How do menopause--and yes andropause--affect the power of our relationship to increase our overall longevity? You know testosterone levels were going to come up in a conversation like this. What does Dr. Michael have to say about that? What are Dr. Barbara's ways to 'socially engineer' your relationship right now to propel you to a long, happy and healthy life ahead? How does the frequency of sexual activity affect longevity, especially for us as men? Who lives longer, parents or childless couples? And...the most tantalizing question of all: Generally, we do our best to be healthy and look good during our dating days, and yet even though the stereotype is we 'let ourselves go' after marriage, why is it 'old married couples' STILL tend to live longer? Ready for that once-in-a-lifetime relationship that isn't going to kill you? Then perhaps it's time to get on the phone with me for 25 minutes to put a plan together. https://mountaintoppodcast.com

Be More Mature Without Getting Old - MTP302 May 06, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Julian Hayes II (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/julian) Remember that old John Cougar Mellencamp song that says, 'Oh yeah, life goes on...long after the thrill of living is gone'? Yeah well, I never liked that song. Now on the other hand, the saying, 'Old truckers never die, they just get a new Peterbilt'? That I like. Hence this episode with my new friend Julian Hayes II from The Art Of Fitness And Life. Julian is an erstwhile medical student who is now on a mission to declare the ART of a long, healthy, fulfilling life rather than simply the science behind it. In this episode, we focus on how to be active and enthusiastic well into maturity instead of being that cranky 'get off my lawn' guy. Listen in as he reveals how the root causes of most health issues--and even most dating and relationship issues--are LIFE issues. How is aging better tied to not just the left-brained aspects of health, but possibly the right-brained ones as well? What is 'healthy narcissism', is it really a thing, and can it actually make you live longer? Does the 'deferred life plan' really pay off? How did we all get talked into believing the stereotypes about older folks? How is it we tend to lose enthusiasm for life, living in 'greyscale' instead of full color...perhaps even literally? What is the relationship between community--either real or imagined--and avoiding premature aging? And what about meaning and purpose? Is lack thereof why so many people get sick and die so shortly after 'retirement'? Finally, Julian talks about a certain self-destructive tendency that comes with getting older, but perhaps ironically only tends to accelerate the process. So while it may be a myth that 'old guys rule', aging healthfully and gracefully doesn't have to be. Discover this month's Masterclass topic and more at https://mountaintoppodcast.com

Women Love Sex And Casual Flings - MTP301 Apr 29, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Lia Holmgren (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/lia) Far too many men somehow believe that women don't enjoy sex as much as we do. Further, they believe if sex happens, she's going to want to lock him down into a long-term relationship. Well, my guest Lia Holmgren is the author of a book FOR WOMEN on how to have empowered casual sex. In this episode, she will delight you not only with her mellifluous Eastern European accent, but with her decidedly unexpected take on women and sex. So, does Lia think women should reclaim the word 'slut'? Where exactly did the long history of slut-shaming women originate...and why? Are men simply possessive and jealous, or is there a more primal vestige of our caveman days going on there? Listen in as Lia perfectly describes just how screwed up sexual dynamics have become in this day and age...and exactly why. Hint: Only a few angry people made it this way, NOT the vast majority. So how did we as men convince ourselves women don't like sex? What's the uncomfortable truth that goes along with that mindset? What about the ev-psych argument that women are less horny because they can only have one baby every nine months, whereas men can spray their seed whenever and wherever? And even if women DO tend to feel more attachment after sex, is there more to that than meets the eye? Listen in as Lia challenges conventional wisdom. Can it be true that women actually like compliments from men and being touched on dates? Why do men forget sex is supposed to be fun? I mean, what's up with our aversion to fun in general? What practical ways can we as men be part of the solution to more and better sex for everyone? How do we help women celebrate their sexuality and empower their sexual freedom? Discover exactly how that indeed lifts a veil and opens up a world of opportunities. Get all the details about the NEW Masterclass series and more at https://mountaintoppodcast.com

    They Say Kindness Isn't Masculine - MTP300 Apr 22, 2022
    Show notes

Co-Host Dr. Mark Goulston (https://mountaintoppodcast.com/kindness) Nobody I know walks his talk better than my returning guest, Dr. Mark Goulston. What makes that particularly amazing is he is a world-class expert in conflict resolution and the inventor of the aptly named 'surgical empathy'. In this episode, Mark and I tackle the fascinating trend proliferating pro-masculinity circles of embracing 'toxic masculinity' rather than fighting it. Often, what comes with that argument is the weird assertion that kindness is not manly...and worse, that women find it straight-up unattractive. But here's the thing, isn't being kind different than being the dreaded 'Mr. Nice Guy'? What if our concept of kindness is indeed screwed up to begin with? Listen to the pure wisdom of Mark's five steps to being assertive without being a knucklehead. Thrill to his simple equation for channeling aggression properly. Prepare to be blown away by his radically simple way to get the best of bullies without losing your cool. Best of all, experience a live demo of how to be pretty much the opposite of an arrogant, douchey bull in a china shop...and yes, have women love you for it. Going the extra mile, you'll even be treated to objective examples of how kindness emerges victorious over raw aggression. And yes, compassion is indeed masculine. Indeed, 'nice' guys may finish last, but kind men win. I have to tell you, this is one of my favorite episodes ever...an instant classic. My solemn guarantee is you will be confronted (however kindly) with a breathtaking challenge not only to your concept of attractive masculinity, but to your sense of what brand of masculinity you find respectable and even admirable.
