The Creator Has Come Down Dec 21, 2014
    Show notes

Dr. Sams expounds on the reason for being. It is the biggest question one can ask. And there is no better time than to reflect than at Advent, when the Creator of the universe put on a human body, lowered himself from His realm to ours, and became our brother. The Greek word for "word", Logos, implies purpose. If you read, "In the beginning was the purpose for existence...", you begin to see how much more Logos means than "word". We are designed to be God's and with God. This is the foundation of all Christian hope. Life, light, hope, God - came to us and brought us these gifts. Would you receive the gift? Hear the good news again. Immanuel. God with us.

The King Has Come Down Dec 14, 2014
    Show notes

What if you were given access to the most important person on the planet? What would you do with that access? On this third Sunday in advent, Dr. Sams preaches on how The King has come down to dwell among us, through Jesus’ birth. This is not a fairy-tale, far-off type of kingdom we imagined in childhood, but instead a King who comes to our workplace, our homes, and into our imitate lives. We are given access to God the Father, and He desires to dwell among us all, no exceptions. Watch or listen, and hear the good news. God is with us!

The Savior Has Come Down Dec 07, 2014
    Show notes

We need rescue from our circumstance. Simply put, we cannot see what God sees. And regardless of how immense, our need is usually veiled from us. Dr. Sams teaches us from the book of Mark about how God immediately works. If we can connect with the immediacy (the "right now") of God's work in our lives, how the joy of Advent will take hold. We can live lives of purpose, lives full of joy, and free from any chain the world would place on us. Listen, and hear how God's reach into our lives is timeless.

The Son Has Come Down Nov 30, 2014

Rev. Dorr-Tilley opens the Scriptures to shine light on what appears to be nothing special: a genealogy. And yet, it is a reminder that the promises of God are consistent and persistent. They do not fail through even the 42 generations listed in Matthew 1. Watch or listen, and find out how much of God's goodness is revealed in a simple list of names.

The Rhythm of Gratitude Nov 23, 2014
    Show notes

Senior Director of Caring Ministries, Mike Morgan, walks us through how resting brings us to an opportunity to remember and be grateful. Rest is frequently unrecognized as a gift from God, so much so that he commanded we rest in the ten commandments. Rest slows us down enough to remember our blessings, and to be grateful that God is everywhere, is good, and is our advocate.

    A Life Pressed Down Nov 09, 2014
    Show notes

Olive oil was a common household item in the first century. In the production of olive oil, olives go through three separate pressings. Each one is symbolic of what we experience in our lives, and what our Savior experienced in His life. Dr. Sams show us how avoiding suffering (the pressing down) denies us beautiful truth that can be critically useful (or poured out) to our neighbors. Watch, and be encouraged by the work God is doing through you.
