Peter Madrigal Jun 15, 2020

Show notes

Vanderpump Rules OG Peter Madrigal steps Behind The Rope. Back in a simpler time when everyone had their Bravo contracts in place, a mere week ago, Peter sat down with The Rope to tell it all. What does HE think about it ALL? Peter explains exactly how the show was cast way back when and it is not what was expected. Peter is kind enough to entertain the Rope's desires to talk about all of his cast mates. Who changed the most since the beginning of the show? What does he personally think of Jax's marriage? What did he think of this past season and the newbies? Does he think the future of VR should be broken into two shows? How does he feel to be one of the only OGs to actually still work at Sur? What role does he play in helping cast the show as the real manager of Sur? Whose wedding was his favorite? House? Of course we also address the season finale's breaking of the 4th wall and how it felt like a series finale with everyone going their separate ways. The future of Vanderpump Rules? All these and more questions answered in this no holds bar sit down with the OG himself, Mr. Peter Madrigal.

Anastasia Surmava - Below Deck Med (Checking In) Jun 12, 2020

Show notes

With Below Deck Mediterranean back on the air, it is definitely time to check in with the one and only Anastasia Surmava. Connecting all the way from Sri Lanka, Anastasia took time off from running her Yoga Studio & Cafe to chat with the Rope. We last saw Anastasia on the high seas, doing double duty as Third Stew and Chef. For all of those wondering, she has been putting her chef skills to good use during quarantine with her fabulous IG videos. That and spending time with her boyfriend. Anastasia opens up about the on line bullying she received after her time on Below Deck Med and the double standard of being a strong female presence as a Below Deck “Chef“. Of course, no below deck convo would be complete without a full on discussion of Kate Chastain, The Captains Lee and Sandy and the newest franchise, Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Ships Ahoy!!

#RHONY's Martini Mike - In The Flesh Jun 11, 2020

Show notes

After the week we have had in the BravoVerse, thank you Vanderpump Rules, isn’t it time for a little light hearted fun? Perhaps some light hearted fun with a martini? Or two? Hells F’ing Yes!!! We welcome The One. The Only. Martini Mike (Michael Byrne) Behind The Rope. Hello People. Martini Mike from #RHONY. He has a freakin' Meme. Extending his 15 minutes, he is here to clarify and answer a few key questions for The Rope. Who are his favorite housewives? Who does he think are the best styled housewives? What day of the week did the infamous #RHONY episode film? What time did he get to the Cooke House that fateful evening? Who was he with? What was the name of the bartender serving him his drinks? Did he eat anything and, if so, what? What is Tinsley’ fav seat in the restaurant (hint it isn’t where the group was sitting that night), what is his drink of choice - ok we KNOW it's a martini - but gin or vodka, what kind and what garnish? Are his friends jealous of his “moment”? Did he get pics with the #RHONY cast? Was Luann drinking? How did he know who Leah and Elyse were? What are his plans in life now? Which #RHONY cast members DM’d him after the episode aired and which blew him off (the answers are NOT at all what you would expect)? And most important, just how many Martinis did he have that night?

Charli Burnett - Vanderpump Rules Jun 10, 2020

Show notes

Vanderpump Rule’s newcomer, Charli Burnett, steps Behind The Rope. And what a week it has already been for the Vanderpump Rules cast. Starting out lightly, Charli explains which came first, her real life job as a server at SUR or a much coveted role as one of the “newbies” this season on Vanderpump Rules. She explains which was more difficult - getting used to working at SUR or the presence of cameras while doing so. When she had difficult times during her freshman year of filming, because of a variety of factors (don’t worry you will find out), she turned to the one person all of us would love to turn to for advice, Lisa Vanderpump. Lucky Girl. Ok, enough of that. In yet another case of Vander foreshadowing, prior to yesterday’s terminations of Stassi and Kristen Doute, we discuss Charli’s relations with the OG cast, or lack thereof. Charli then wastes no time in explaining how the OG cast treated her, both on and off camera, and just how “welcoming” (Not) they were. If you didn’t think there was a division between the OG cast and the Newbies before this - well, hmm, you may want to take a listen to this episode.

Heather & Terry Dubrow Jun 08, 2020

Show notes

Checking in from Chateau Dubrow, in all its glory, Heather and Terry Dubrow, step Behind The Rope. Heather bonds with The Rope over the joyous role of being a successful Podcast Host a la Heather Dubrow’s world. We then get right into The Dubrow Diet, one of the most googled diets out there. Terry explains the science behind The Dubrow Diet (we paid attention, really), a keto fusion diet involving intermittent fasting. We got the Dubrow stamp of approval for a little vodka, a little caffeine and oh, the Dubrow Diet has anti aging effects. Sign us up!! The conversation eventually turns to Botched and the extra challenging cases Terry faced during this current Season 6. Before Botched there was The Swan, one of the best reality shows of all time (google it people), which Terry was a Doctor on. He informed us it is ranked as one of the worst reality shows of all time (we now love it just a little more). We lasted a whole 40 minutes before finally bringing up, obviously The Real Housewives of Orange County. Heather was a true sport in entertaining ALL RHOC questions past and present. Fear not, Heather may soon be back on our TV screens. The Dubrow's have a new reality show they are working on together. Listen here for all those details and so much more.

Show notes

Artist and Musician Nicky Bondz Steps Behind The Rope. Having worked on 12 songs, almost a full album during quarantine, Nicky takes time out of his busy day to chat with The Rope. Getting his PhD in Mental Health, Nicky has uniquely blended his doctorate schooling into his hit music by encouraging people to stay strong during this unprecedented tough time the world is facing. One of Nicky’s new singles called “HOME” is a feel-good song that’s a cross of pop with a little bit of EDM and hip hop. Of course, all roads Behind The Velvet Rope lead to Bravo. In this case, that would be Nicky’s recent appearance on Bravo's Hit Show, Blind Date. Find out what went on when the Blind Date cameras weren’t rolling and what Nicky really thought of his experience filming with Bravo, during this special chat with Nicky Behind The Velvet Rope.

Randall Klein - Camp Getaway Jun 04, 2020

Show notes

Randall Klein from the freshman Bravo show Camp Getaway joins us Behind The Rope. Randall is Miss Camp. No really, she grew up going to camp, loving camp, did camp teen tours, and now works at Camp Getaway. She is also a huge Bravo fan and avid listener of Behind the Velvet Rope Podcast. The woman has good tastes. Randall takes us Behind the Ropes of the new hit Bravo show discussing how she got hired, her fellow social coordinators, the romances and love triangles, and some of what we can expect as the rest of the Camp Getaway season plays out. Part Below Deck, part Summer House, Randall and David break down the appeal of this fun summer indulgence and what really goes on behind the scenes at a weekend playground for adults. Of course Randal and David bond over Randall's favorite Bravo shows besides Camp Getaway - RHONY and discuss all the ins and outs of their favorites and not so favorites. Finally, they debate who is the hottest guy on Bravo. Hint - they actually agree!!

Meeting Tom D'Agostino / Britney & Jax Jun 03, 2020

Show notes

Being a third wheel on a date with Harry Dubin? Why not. Whose says there is proper ettiequte and rules on RHONY’s ground zero, the UES. Meeting Tom D’Agostino at The Regency? Oh yes. A D’Agostino Dubin Sandwich Pic? Thank you Harry for making that happen. Further downtown, a run in with Jax & Brittney occurs. Feeling nostalgic, the convo quickly turns to past hang outs with the cast of 90210 and Melrose Place. Ah, nostalgia. (Audience Appreciation Day is alive and well with SaraSara.)

Elyse Slaine (#RHONY) - Welcome Back! Jun 01, 2020

Show notes

Elyse Slaine - welcome back!! Wasting no time, Elyse gives us her take on the latest #RHONY Newport "Hurricane Leah" Vacation Episode and what watching herself on TV throughout the season has been like. Elyse opens up about how social media now plays a role in her life and the realization that anything she says on line can, may and probably will be used against her. Elyse discusses her one big regret from this past season, who was the hardest to get to know better and the current status of her relationships, or not, with the cast. Obviously, we had to bring up her unfollowing Ramona on social media and why an unlikely friendship formed between her and Leah. Of course, no RHONY sit down is complete without a full discussion of OGs Jill Zarin the Bethenny Frankel. Put that Apple down and listen in.
