Just Checking In | BE Moment Aug 28, 2019
    Show notes

Have you ever set a goal with a friend and then completely forgot about it? And when they shoot you a text reminder, you recommit and get to work on it?

One of the things I LOVE about my coach is that she checks in. In the past, I'd have coaches that I'd speak to every other week and I'd feel great the day of our call. Now, we do a 30 minute call in our off coaching weeks to see where I'm at, if I've run into obstacles and how I can course correct to get back on track.

It's easy to get caught up in the do…..caught up in our day…..and to forget our intention. And suddenly, we are so far from where we started, we feel like the day is a waste, and we'll start over the next day. But how much time are we losing? And ultimately, we are building a muscle of being in this lower energy, in a state of business or of worry or of checking out.

So how do you check in to stay IN your Be State?

    Check In Questions

Am I being _____ in this moment?

Does watching this/doing this/eating this support me?

How can I be more _____ in this moment?

When you're checking in often, it's easier to course correct.

Checked in - am I being focused, feeling and in flow in this moment? NO! Does doing this more support me? No? How can I be more? Seek first to understand, remove the distraction, recenter myself.

Here's a highly effective and simple way to ensure that you're in your BE state throughout the day…..by giving yourself daily reminders that force you to stop and go through this process.

    Setting Alarms

    • Select the time of day that you are often the most stressed, or find yourself busy.
    • Set an alarm to BE your ideal state.
    • Select a song that helps you feel that way
    • Take a moment at that time to recenter yourself, focus on your breath. You can listen to the song for a minute or two, or take a few minutes to meditate.
    • That alarm is going to go off EXACTLY when you need it!

Finally, when you're finished listening to this, go to www.futureme.org. You're going to write yourself a letter.

Describe the state you want to live in. How does your life look different when you show up and live in this state? How do you impact others around you? What does it allow you to experience? Who deserves this best you? How do you feel when you achieve the things you want to do, but by being you? What does becoming this person mean to you?

You can choose when that email shows up - 1 year later, a month later? When you receive it, you'll have completely forgot you wrote it, but it'll show up when you absolutely need it most.

Clearing Space, Creating Clarity | BE Moment Aug 21, 2019
    Show notes

Anyone else feel a bit overwhelmed by clutter? In your calendar, in your house, in your life? Where you don't feel like you can catch a breath? Or like you need to first clean and make room before you start anything new? Or worse, you feel like you don't start anything because you've got so much going on, you can't figure out where to start?⁣

    ⁣

And even organized clutter is still clutter!⁣

    ⁣

I'd been feeling a bit stuck on a few projects (my book and some of my business pursuits) because there was SO MUCH going on.....and my office was a reflection of that! And despite multiple attempts to get things organized and to get rid of things I didn't need, I kept making excuses of why I needed to keep something (and then basically reorganized new piles). ⁣

Even though my office might look somewhat neat to a stranger, it was mirroring my life, books overflowing the bookshelves (yes, color coordinated), thank you cards to be mailed under my desk and the closet, oh, the closet….years of Christmas Cards I would someday create an album out of!

    ⁣

The team from Put Together Place came in a few weeks ago and literally, did magic! I can't explain how much lighter I feel, how much I love the new space and how inspired I am to work in it! ⁣

    ⁣

Three things I learned and now believe about creating space!⁣

    ⁣

    1. Empty space isn't just physical, it's mental. ⁣

As they hauled out boxes of books, redundant electronics and even fancy dresses I no longer need, I could just FEEL the space in my mind as well. I sat down and edited my book.....finishing in two hours what I thought would take 12!⁣

    ⁣

    1. Hire a professional. We are too attached to our clutter, whether it's commitments, books, photos, or even relationships.⁣

I had attempted to do it before on my own, but I was too close to the clutter, too attached. Sometimes, someone further away can see the picture more clearly. And they LOVE doing this (I do not)!⁣ And when you see someone else holding your stuff with no emotional attachment, it is SO much easier to LET IT GO.

    ⁣

    1. Don't underestimate how quickly space can be opened and what it will allow room for!⁣

The team finished more in one day than I could have done on my own in a week (because I would have been constantly distracted)! And more importantly, when it was done, I felt a total energetic flow! I finished my book, took care of a few other items that had been on my to do list and I wanted to KEEP going! I feel SUCH room for the goals I have this year, instead of wondering how I'm going to accomplish them with everything I have going on!

I just got back from 10 days of travel, inspired and ready to dive into some projects. Coming home to an organized, minimalist-ish office means no overwhelm. That space creates clarity. ANd clarity creates action.

Once you create the space, resist the urge to fill it back up! One thing we rarely schedule time for is the time to breathe, to think, to BE.

Fear Less, Be More | BE Moment Aug 14, 2019
    Show notes

We hear what we need to, if we open our heart and mind. And this Celebration, I felt like EVERY speaker was talking about fear. And fear is the reason I almost cancelled going.

The speakers on stage would talk about what they were struggling with, how they had fear about doing the hard things to change it, and then the incredible things that happened when they got on the other side of fear.

One speaker REALLY talked about how she faced her Fear - Michelle Poler is a TEDx Speaker and founder of @hellofears. She committed to the 100 day project where for 100 days, she faced a fear EVERY day. Fear is our ally. But it's important we can really understand it so we know it's purpose.

There are 3 categories of fear.

    1. Universal fear - fear that keeps us safe and alive (heights, spiders).
    2. Cultural fear - it keeps us from being outliers. it's the fear of not being loved or accepted.
    3. Personal fear - keeps us from being our BEST self and reaching our potential.

Courage and fear are both part of us. But which is tipping the scale? Instead of asking, what's the worst that can happen, ask "What's the best that can happen"?

My question for you - Are you showing up for your dreams bravely? Are you honoring them? Or are you letting fear get in the way? Have courage, because everything you want to be, do and have is just on the other side of that fear.

Moms On A Mission (Part 1) - with Lacey Thomas, Ellen Barnard and Jessica Bird Hagestedt Aug 11, 2019
    Show notes

This year is my fifth Celebration, an incredible personal development event (and party!) to be inspired, learn, grow and set goals for the year ahead. This year, we're in Nashville, TN. Yee haw!

After a full day that stoked the flame of my fire for my online wellness business (as well as for the benefits of the business model of referral marketing), I interview the moms I'm sharing a house with. These women are not only part of my team, but part of the community that I call friends and family.

They have different reasons they said yes to working with Isagenix (and me!), different why's, different struggles and different triumphs, but we're united in a common bond of wanting to improve ourselves while impacting others and creating legacy for our children.

Part 1: Interviews with primal nutritionist, childbirth educator and doula Ellen Barnad, with my high school classmate, talented esthetician and makeup artist Lacey Thomas, and former D1 athlete, personal trainer and holistic health coach Jessica Bird Hagestedt.

Maybe, It Is About You | BE Moment Aug 07, 2019
    Show notes

You know the saying "it's not about you"? But sometimes, it really IS all about us!

Third trimester, I was frustrated. I was about to launch my podcast and was feeling a lot of fear. I hadn't been prioritizing my workouts and I was NOT sleeping. I felt pretty miserable and stressed out.

My husband got home that night and did something minor and I told him "I am NOT feeling supported. I need more support from you". And he very calmly said "if you're not feeling supported, is there an area where you aren't supporting yourself?

Of course, in my tired, moody state, that wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear, but one of the things I love about my husband is that he works with a coach and works on his own issues and often, the things we are working on mirror each other!

I thought about it and asked myself...how can I better support me? Am I setting myself up to succeed in the areas that are important to me before I expect someone else to?And when we can really look honestly at ourselves, we can determine what we need to do.

If you aren't supporting yourself and you're expecting others tol, it's like pouring water into a cup with holes….there will never be enough to fill up the cup. When I am really supporting myself, I'm high vibing on life. I FEEL support from those around me. Opportunities literally fall out of the sky. There's no room for negativity or drama and it's as if people can sense it.

It's YOUR job to support yourself, to make yourself happy, to love yourself. How can you apply this to every day? To what you're doing? To what you're eating?

Ask: Does what I'm doing now support me? Does what I'm doing now help me achieve my goals? Does what I'm doing now help me become my highest and best self?

Do what you can to be happy, because when you're happy, you can do anything!

Living A Life of Big Magic with The Four Agreements | BE Moment Jul 31, 2019
    Show notes

This podcast has often been focused on people's personal journeys, or on ways to design your life. But the reality is that we don't operate in a bubble, that we are working to live and improve ourselves in a world where we are constantly interacting with others who have their own experiences, needs, fears and dreams.

This morning, I saw something posted by someone I know well and it cut deep. I felt very personally attacked. After I meditated, I unpacked my feelings around what had happened in the context of two books I'm currently reading.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

    Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

    1. Be impeccable with your word.
      1. Speak with integrity, Say only what you mean
        1. Argue for your limitations and you get to keep them. - Elizabeth Gilbert
        2. What if you talked to yourself as if you were talking to the person you love most in the world?
      2. Do not speak against yourself
        1. Have you ever felt better by lashing out? By gossiping? Or by complaining?
        2. We only have so much time and energy. If we use it to complain about others, to criticize others or to find fault in them, that's time that could be spent with those we love, towards working towards our dreams, to give to those in need. It's time we NEVER get back.
      3. Avoid gossiping about others
        1. What would your highest and best self say?
      4. Use your word in the direction of love and truth
      1. Nothing others do is because of you.
        1. Ask, are they hungry, tired or stressed? 95% of the time, that's the situation.
      2. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream
        1. THis is TOUGH!!! But think of this…. which is more painful… NOT pursuing the thing that you are called to do, whether that's creating a course, coaching, opening up a creative business, speaking…..because someone criticized or judged you? Because they wounded you with a pin prick of their opinion? Or not bringing forth to life something YOU were uniquely meant to do?
          1. YOU DO NOT NEED ANYONE'S PERMISSION TO LIVE A CREATIVE LIFE - Elizabeth Gilbert (Big Magic)
          2. Grieve if you must, but grieve efficiently - Elizabeth Gilbert
      3. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.
    2. Don't take things personally
      1. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want
        1. This might not even have been about me!!
      2. Communicate as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings and drama
    3. Don't make assumptions!
      1. Your best will change from moment to moment, from when you are healthy to sick
        1. You can measure your worth by your dedication to your path, not by your successes or failures.
          1. "You don't get any special credit for knowing how to be afraid of the unknown" Elizabeth Gilbert
        2. You not what is NEVER our best? Self sabotaging because we are afraid. Afraid of failure, afraid of others opinions.
        1. Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you? - Elizabeth Gilbert
      2. Do your best and you'll avoid self judgement and regret.
    4. Always Do Your Best
