Super Bowl LIV Recap ft. Matt Pyne Feb 04, 2020
    Show notes

The Baltimore Beatdown podcast is back for Tuesday, February 4th. This time, Jake is joined by Russell Street Report blogger Matt Pyne (@MPyne_) to recap the big game from this past Sunday. That would of course be Super Bowl LIV in Miami, in which the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious over the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 to claim their first title in several decades. The guys have plenty to talk about, starting with their perspectives on the game heading into it, what they thought of some of the big plays as they were unfolding, the halftime show and commercials, as well as plenty of other stuff surrounding it all. They also try to touch on things from a Ravens point of view from time to time, and try to parse through it all and see if Baltimore can learn anything from these two teams. Hope you guys enjoy the recap, and until next time, have an awesome week!

    Kyle Barber Jan 31, 2020
    Show notes

Jake is joined on this fine Friday by Baltimore Beatdown's head honcho himself, Kyle Barber (@BB_KylePBarber), the managing editor of the site. The guys have plenty to go over this week, and for the most part, tried to keep things Super Bowl focused. As a result, they touch on Terrell Suggs' comments during his media availability in Miami, Lamar Jackson stating he has no interest in even watching the game, and an interesting nugget about Joe Flacco's standings among all time performances in the big game. The boys also discuss who they'll be rooting for on Sunday, before finally jumping into the big topic for today's show: the guys' top five favorite Super Bowls of all time. We hope you all enjoy this one, and have an amazing, safe Super Bowl weekend. Enjoy the game!

    Vasilis Lericos Jan 28, 2020
    Show notes

Spencer is out sick, so Jake has the pleasure of being joined by great friend of the pod, Vasilis Lericos (@vasilisbeatdown), for this Tuesday edition of the Baltimore Beatdown Podcast! Vas is a huge proponent of strong salary cap management and is very passionate about roster construction, so he jumps on the pod to discuss what the Ravens offseason is currently looking like from his perspective a few weeks out. The guys break it down position by position, and discuss ideal free agency and trade targets, as well as potential draft pairings that could help this team out in 2020 and beyond. The discussion also includes some talk on possible extensions for players such as Ronnie Stanley and Marlon Humphrey, and much, much more. We hope you guys are having a good start to your week after what was a tough/strange weekend in sports, and that the pod provides something even somewhat beneficial to those who are struggling to make sense of all that's happened. #MambaForever, and we'll talk to you guys later on this week.

Early draft talk + mailbag Jan 22, 2020
    Show notes

The boys are back in the studio on this fine Wednesday to talk some Ravens with you beautiful people. To do so, they start by opening the mailbag for the first time in at least a few episodes to riff on what you guys want to hear (remember to get your questions in whenever and on whichever your social platform of choosing is). They then jump into a lengthy discussion about the draft thanks to the kickoff of the annual Reese's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The guys talk about the hot names down there, some of the other names throughout the draft that aren't in attendance, and of course how the Ravens figure into all of this. We hope you guys enjoy, and talk to you again very, very soon.

Drowning our sorrows with PFF Gordon Jan 14, 2020
    Show notes

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened - or, at least that's what the boys are trying to tell themselves after the Ravens were stunned at home in the divisional round to the wild card seeded Tennessee Titans led by castoff quarterback Ryan Tannehill. It's about as insane to type out as it is that it actually occurred, and it's not a whole lot of fun to talk about either. That said, Jake and Spencer have a job to do and as such they're here to talk this thing out with you guys in the hopes of getting some closure on the season ending so abruptly. They also have the pleasure of welcoming a great guest in to help them do so - Gordon McGuinness (@PFF_Gordon) of Pro Football Focus (32:18). Gordon joins the show to chat with Jake about how he got his start watching and covering football while growing up in Scotland, what made him a Ravens fan, some thoughts on this season, and more. We hope you guys enjoyed despite the heartbreak, and we'll talk to you again on Friday.

Remembering the Titans ft. Barstool RDT Jan 10, 2020
    Show notes

The boys are here for divisional week, and have a slapper of an episode locked and loaded for you fine people to dig into! They're obviously here for one reason - to preview the Titans @ Ravens game, and they have a few different ways of approaching it for you all. The first it to bring in the Tennessee fan perspective, and for that, friend of the show Barstool RDT (@editti22) stops by for a lengthy interview. RDT is the Barstool Sports Orioles blogger who grew up a diehard Titans fan, and gives a perspective on what that's been like, and what his outlook for Sunday is. The boys also have a preview of their own to give, with an additional segment dedicated to the game itself so be sure to stay tuned for that to get yourself nice and learned up on what to expect this weekend. We'll talk to you guys on Monday - enjoy the game, be safe, and above all, go Ravens.

Wild card recap Jan 07, 2020
    Show notes

Jake and Spencer are here for you guys with the rare Tuesday episode, this time coming at you all from a few different angles. The first of which is to recap a wild card weekend that was one of the more memorable ones in recent history, with two significant upsets taking place, as well as two different tilts heading to overtime on two different days. They also have a very lengthy mailbag to get through, with several very interesting topics to touch on. Some of them include potential free agent acquisitions and players the Ravens may retain, what the gameplan is going to be for this weekend against the Tennessee Titans, and the boys' level of nervousness heading into that game (as well as much more, like always). Thanks for listening guys, and we'll talk to you again on Friday with a more in-depth divisional round preview!

Wild Card Weekend Jan 03, 2020
    Show notes

The boys are back to kick the new year off with a bang. The best way to do so is of course with a fresh mailbag to open things up, so that's of course what they start the show with. Topics include new contracts for pending free agents, talk of the upcoming playoffs, and much more. They also dive in to what they're expecting to see this coming wild card weekend. That includes a quick look at each of the four games, and of course a prediction for each one. Have an awesome weekend, and enjoy the games!
