#30 Gymkata (1985) Nov 19, 2021

Show notes

This episode goes off the rails at multiple points, because the BMR crew can't keep it together while discussing the worst martial arts movie to feature gymnastics. Gymkata starred a very talented gymnast, Kurt Thomas, who was supposed to blend his talents with karate to strike fear into his opponents, but the results are largely hilarious.

The BMR crew dives into the 1996 action movie, Broken Arrow directed by John Woo and starring John Travolta. Legend says by the time the movie was done shooting not a single piece of scenery remained. Travolta had chewed it all. AIN'T IT COOL?????

We hand out our awards for the Top 3 Performances, The Will Patton Award for intensity and the Trash Can Full of Dirt Award.

On this episode of Bad Movies Rule we take a look at the 1982 cult classic Beastmaster starring Marc Singer and Tanya Roberts, along with Rip Torn.

This movies is a bit of a fever dream for us as we only had vague recollections from seeing it as kids. The re-watch did not disappoint, this movie is insane in all of the best ways. #27 Killer Klowns From Outer Space (1988) Oct 29, 2021

Show notes

Our first Halloween episode reviewing Killer Klowns from Outer Space. This one has to be on the Mount Rushmore of bad horror movies. The movie is about Mike Tobacco (his name, not a joke) and Debbie Stone as they run from giant insane omnipotent clowns. What's not to like?

As always we give out our Will Patton Award, the Trash Can Full of Dirt Award and Top 3 Performers.

#26 Conan the Destroyer (1984) Oct 22, 2021

Show notes

In the early 80's there existed two Conan movies. One was good and the other was Conan the Destroyer. A movie that I throughly enjoy, but from an objective standpoint is hard to defend as a good movie. We take our best shot. Also, Malak was the worst character maybe ever. Listen and let us know what you think of this movie via our email below. Which actor deserves to win our coveted Trash Can Full of Dirt award?

#25 The Postman (1997) Oct 15, 2021

Show notes

The movie that was famous for being a financial failure gets a chance at redemption. Is this the bad movies that people have claimed, or is there a diamond under all of the rough parts? Also, after 24 episodes of handing out an award named after Will Patton, we finally are talking about a film featuring an wonderfully intense performance from the man himself. There's so much to love, and we dream about what could have been. As always we dissect the film and then give out some awards to the (mostly) outstanding cast.

#24 The Last Dragon (1985) Oct 08, 2021

Show notes

The greatest martial arts movie to ever feature glowing martial artists, Bruce Lee's belt buckle and the kid from Surf Ninjas. This 80s gem is almost as bonkers as whatever the filmmakers were on when they put this thing together. It's hilarious, the final fight scene is actually well done, and it's 100% rewatchable. But is it a good movie? Listen to the BMR crew trying to figure that out. As always they give out the Will Patton award, the Trash Can Full of Dirt award, and crown the top 3 performances in the movie.
