    Addict II Athlete Podcast

    The Addict II Athlete podcast is hosted by Coach Blu Robinson, a licensed clinical mental health counselor and substance abuse counselor who has worked in the field since 2001. He is a fantastic public speaker, coach, and therapist who works with many individuals, youth, couples, and families addressing issues like addiction, trauma, communication, parenting, and more. Blu hopes to provide listeners with the skills and game plans for anyone to turn their mess into their message of hope and a bright future. The AIIA podcast is here to inspire anyone. We share recovery stories, education, life tips, address teen and parenting issues, and more. Our topics address all walks of life but also addiction recovery with tips and fundamentals for those seeking recovery as well as the family and friends of someone who is. Addict II Athlete removes the negative stigma of addiction and mental health and creates a foundation of potential and support. Addict to Athlete is a nonprofit team of peers, friends, and family who have a desire to create a new way of life. By knowing an addict, having been affected by addiction, or being in recovery yourselves, Team Addict II Athlete is here to help. We have come together to help one another with the outcome from all angles of addiction using our Erase and Replace Philosophy. Erase negative behaviors by replacing the void left behind with health, service, support system, and recreation. We are here to carry the message of recovery and change the outlook of addiction. Our goal is to spread the message of recovery to the addict and family of the addict who still struggles with addiction and to show that we have discovered a more excellent way to live. Moving from Addict to Athlete, dismisses the old way of thinking that recovery must remain anonymous as you become an Agent of Sobriety and a Champion of recovery.     Todd Sylvester, an experienced motivational speaker, author, and life coach, has spent over twenty years inspiring adults and children alike to avoid and change addictive behaviors. He is also a podcast host for Beliefcast a top Memtal Health podcast.
    Todd currently works as an Addictive Voice Recognition Counselor at Wasatch Recovery for those struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Here he provides one-on-one mentoring to local as well as international clients. Described as having "a unique gift to develop trusting relationships quickly," Todd has guided hundreds to sobriety and other behavioral successes through the individualized support he offers each client.     A recovering addict himself, Rob Eastman struggled with judgment, breaking free, and painful misunderstanding. He was faced with people who thought that his addiction was just a chemical imbalance, and with those who thought it was just in his head, but he was rarely treated as a whole person. When he was, it changed everything. A certified life coach and personal trainer at Eastman Fitness. Rob's book: "Warrior in the Garden" will be launching on Wednesday, September 27th. "This book is an intimate and powerful look into the life created.     Running Ransom Road: Caleb Daniloff May 09, 2023

    Caleb Daniloff Boston area writer, sober runner, and author. He is a contributing editor to Runner's World magazine and the author of Running Ransom Road, a memoir and co-authored November Project: The Book: Inside the Free Grassroots Fitness Movement That's Taking Over the World. His work has appeared in numerous outlets, and he has received multiple awards, including a nomination for a Pushcart Prize.

    Caleb also shares how he and his wife worked through assisting their daughter in her fight with addiction. His advice can be so helpful to other parents with children who struggle.     Living a healthy and drug-free life can be challenging, especially if you are used to relying on substances to cope with stress or other issues. However, making healthy choices and engaging in positive activities can help you break free from addiction and improve your overall well-being.

    Intentional Walk by Corey Harrington May 17, 2021
    Show notes

    An intentional walk occurs when the defending team elects to walk a batter on purpose, putting him on first base instead of letting him try to hit. Intentional walks -- which count as a walk for the hitter and a walk allowed by the pitcher -- are an important strategy in the context of a game. They can be used to put a runner on first base, setting up a potential double play.

    Listeners, today's podcast features Corey Harrington an inspiring man who had aspirations of playing professional baseball and due to some unfortunate experiences, made it as far as the minor league. But his story didn't end there. Listen as Coach Blu and Corey talk about the secrecy of addiction and the fear of letting other people know. Then metaphorically Intentionally walking into recovery by choosing to let others in. Personal accountability, a healthy dose of trust, and Corey has now been able to turn the mess into a message.
