Writing on GamesCast Ep.86 - Does Pizza Fuck? Sep 11, 2018

Show notes

Nico has returned from New York... only to swing right back in as we discuss how Spiderman has not only defied our expectations but has reinvigorated Hamish's love of games. We then talk about the question on everyone's lips: what if Heat could be made into something way, way worse? The answer is GTAV.

Writing on GamesCast Ep.85 - Das Accoutrements Aug 30, 2018

Show notes

We've been gone a while but fear not! A slight format change and making things slightly more concise means more easily sustained energy and less time we need to carve out to actually do this dang thing! And what a time to get back into it! Hamish has returned from Gamescom and has a LOT to say about the Cyberpunk 2077 demo, Sekiro, Spiderman, Kingdom Hearts 3, and more! We also discuss No Man's Sky's daft multiplayer and the fact that Shenmue is still a prrrretty bad game.

Writing on GamesCast Ep.84 - Google suck a bigger bag of dicks Jul 29, 2018

Show notes

Woaaaaaaaah, it's the Writing on GamesCast reporting from somewhere on Spaceship Earth; here to bring you high-frequency thoughts on that No Man's Sky update, A Way Out (spoilers at 1:28:00), Wreckfest and Typing of the Dead before the ludicrous heat sends us off on tangents about saving cats and how getting away from social media does wonders for your mental health.

Writing on GamesCast Ep.83 - Green Hill Lodge Jul 12, 2018

Show notes

Hamish is back from LA while Nico maybe literally melts from the heat. Either way, we've been playing a bunch of video games, feeling baffled by The Crew 2 while loving the hell out of Wreckfest, biting people in Vampyr, doing other vampire-related things in Bloodstained, fearing for the future of Life is Strange (spoiler warning for Captain Strange at 1:19:40), talking about Matthew McConaughey as Sonic, and trying (and failing) to not sound like total wanks when discussing how we conceptualise m

Writing on GamesCast Ep.82 - The 2nd Annual E3 Extravaganza! Jun 13, 2018

Show notes

We're back after a month-long break and to celebrate, Hamish is in LA, we have 40s and we're spending over four hours (!) talking about every E3 press conference! Witness as we get a lil drunk then proceed to sober up; discussing why Daemon X Machina was the game of the show, Death Stranding's Bad Toenail Scene, some asides about Detroit Become Human, and quoting Limp Bizkit lyrics at each other. Ohhhhh maayayayayyy gaaaaawd!

Writing on GamesCast Ep.81 - The TurkeyCast May 12, 2018

Show notes

It's your favourite TV news and Chad experts (?) back once again to give you the leanest cast in a while, clocking in at a measly three hours as opposed to three-and-a-half. We haven't played many games, but we've battled royally, we've warred godly, we've raced... pod-ly, and most important of all, Nico has more hot Dawson's Creek gossip.

Writing on GamesCast Ep.80 - Gotta Go Last May 03, 2018

Show notes

Do you ever wonder if God of War got any better? What's it like to play The Last of Us for the first time in 2018? Is the Detroit: Become Human demo total, irredeemable shite? Will we ever get to that backlog of listener questions we have? All these questions and more answered on your favourite film and TV podcast, the Writing on GamesCast!

Writing on GamesCast Ep.79 - Badical Shites Apr 21, 2018

Show notes

It's 4/20 and we smoking that Home Improvement weed! We're also discussing the generation-defining, game to end all games God of War, Cliffy B's continued struggles for relevancy in Radical Heights, how Thumper led Hamish down a hole of ZX Spectrum home development, Nico's return to Yakuza Kiwami and a long time is spent talking about weird bands. More like Dumper!

Writing on GamesCast Ep.78 - Pighammer Apr 07, 2018

Show notes

Hambo and Nico are back to give you the lowdown on what's REALLY bullshit, people's potentially odd expectations of Far Cry 5, the solo career of Wayne Static (may god rest his soul), a Final Fantasy XV debrief, why Devil May Cry 3 is the best game ever made, why Burnout Paradise is the best game ever made, as well as fulfilling all your Matthew McConaughey ASMR needs. Also, don't forget your regularly scheduled d-beat minute.

Writing on GamesCast Ep.77 - Johntendo Mar 27, 2018

Show notes

LIFE STUFF GOT IN THE WAY AGAIN SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY. We've been playing a LOT of games though, so that means almost three and a half hours of proper, proper shite. Some thoughts on Yakuza 6 (and the weirdness surrounding that embargo), PUBG mobile, remembering the Devil May Cry series and everyone's favourite non-genre - Nintendocore.
