Work + Life Harmony | Time Management, Organization and Planning for Overwhelmed Women

You wake up with a plan. By 10 AM, it’s completely off the rails. By bedtime, you’re mentally running through everything you didn’t get to and wondering how tomorrow will be any different.

Work + Life Harmony is the weekly podcast that teaches women a completely different approach to time management, weekly planning, and productivity.

Hosted by Megan Sumrell, a time management expert with 20+ years in systems and planning, this show will change the way you think about your calendar, your to-do list, and how you spend your time.

Megan covers everything from weekly planning strategies and daily routines to goal setting, organization, and how to handle the curveballs that throw your whole week off. Her approach was built specifically for women managing work, family, and the million things in between, not recycled advice from productivity systems designed for someone else’s life.

If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of overwhelm, guilt, and never-ending to-do lists, start here. New episodes every week.

How Planning Systems Prevent Overwhelm Nov 01, 2022
    Show notes

Planning tips and organization techniques are fantastic for getting things in order in the short term, but they aren’t enough to prevent us from feeling overwhelmed again later. That’s why we need repeatable planning systems in place, and today, I’m sharing three of these life-changing processes!

Do you know the difference between planning tips or techniques and planning systems?

Both are amazing and can help you out, but only one is capable of preventing you from feeling overwhelmed continually.

While planning techniques give you those quick wins, they aren’t enough to stop you from feeling overwhelmed in the long run because they aren’t part of a repeatable system. That’s why, today, I’m sharing with you the three planning systems you need to keep the stress and overwhelm at bay LONG TERM!

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

    • Why planning tips feel so rewarding in the moment but don’t prevent overwhelm from creeping back in
    • The three continuous, repeatable planning systems I use
    • How to start using these processes in your own life to stop feeling overwhelmed

    Like what you heard here?

How Planning Changes Your Personality Test Results Oct 18, 2022
    Show notes

Most of us approach personality test results with the idea that they can’t be changed, but recently, I’ve seen shifts in not only my own Myers-Briggs personality type but in the types of women in my community. And today, I’m sharing how weekly planning may be impacting these changes!

What is your Myers-Briggs personality type?

For years, my personality test results showed I was about as INTJ as they come!

However, recently, I’ve noticed that these results — specifically the first and last letter in your Myers Briggs personality type — have a direct impact on how you plan and manage your time AND that, with weekly planning, they can even shift.

By the end of this episode, you will learn:

    • The way to understand your personality test results and what it really means to be an introvert or an extrovert
    • How my Myers Briggs personality type has shifted over time
    • Why weekly planning can change your test results — and your life!
