    The summer has arrived!
This is the time during the year when most people want to take a complete break from their business for the entire summer, doing no business, no work, nothing.

Utilizing Your Time Efficiently with Jennifer Smith Jul 04, 2022
    Show notes

If Jennifer Smith is right, the way anyone shares how-to knowledge is about to change forever. A former VC and McKinsey consultant turned accidental CEO, she interviewed more than 1,200 business leaders on a quest to understand everything there is to know about processes, best practices, and productivity. Now with her startup Scribe, she’s empowering people to own their processes by building the world’s first operating system for know-how.

For as long as she can remember, Jennifer has been fixated on finding better, faster ways to get work done. That obsession led her to a career in consulting at McKinsey, where she spent seven years getting paid to uncover the secrets and shortcuts behind companies’ highest-performing employees. From there she moved to Silicon Valley VC firm Greylock, picking the brains of over a thousand CIOs, CDOs, and CXOs in an effort to understand their biggest operational pain points.
She was shocked to find that despite advances in technology, not much had changed since her early days at McKinsey — to get a true picture of their operational best practices, companies still had to hire a high-priced consultant to look over the shoulder of some overstressed employee. So she teamed up with a former Google engineer and quietly set about building a tool that could automatically capture how employees work, allowing organizations to finally understand, document, and optimize how work gets done.
Growing by word-of-mouth only, Scribe has already become a hit at tens of thousands of organizations from tech startup unicorns to Fortune 500 companies. And with over $30M in funding from some of Silicon Valley’s most prescient VC’s, you can be sure the knowledge sharing revolution they’ve started is just beginning.

    Episode Summary -
Do you spend your time being busy, yet end up having an unproductive day?
Do you ever feel like your to-do lists are getting longer daily, and you have no clue how to sort them out?

Do you find yourself focusing on the urgent all day long?
If any of the situations describe you, it probably means you need to look carefully at how you are managing your time.

The most common reason people struggle with their to-do list is that they tend to spend time on the tasks that are of the least importance.

There is a vast difference between being busy and being productive.

Being productive means you focus on how you can do more with less time and how you can make your work simple. It is also about identifying the tasks that are killing your time and getting rid of them.
In this episode, Jennifer Smith shares some productivity tips on utilizing your time more efficiently.
"Falling in love with the process is the way to overcome self-doubt and self-limiting belief."

Snapshot of the Key Points from the Episode:
[02:25] Jennifer shares her background story and talks about why she started with Scribe.
[05:03] Jennifer talks about Scribe - What is it, and how it helps people be productive.

What makes a Good Leader with Bob Tiede Jun 30, 2022
    Show notes

Bob Tiede is an accomplished leadership expert, author, and blogger who has served on the leadership team of Cru for fifty years.
Bob Tiede has been helping people work from their happy place for a decade. His Leading with Questions approach teaches leaders to be "serial askers" instead of "serial teller." By doing so, leaders discover barriers to progress and workflow issues while fostering a healthier, more productive workplace. Thanks, as always, for your time.

Ten years ago, Bob Tiede stumbled upon the book that changed his life: Power Questions by Jerold Pans and Andrew Sobel. After reading about the value of asking questions, and thinking about his 40 years as a leader, he had an epiphany: He had spent his entire professional life as a benevolent dictator, “telling” instead of asking in his personal and professional life.
Eager to share his knowledge, Bob started a blog, Leading with Questions (see the press kit here). Nine years and more than one thousand blog posts later, Bob has connected thousands of leaders, and published four eBooks (translated into several languages that he gives away for free. His salt-of-the-earth, generous, no-nonsense style has enabled him to forge connections with people worldwide, from all walks of life, and to be a change agent for the good of leaders anywhere and everywhere.
Bob is a graduate of the University of South Dakota who has amassed a following from top-tier leaders and others as a plain-speaking change-agent, reminding leaders to focus on asking questions instead of feeling like they need to have all the answers.
Bob grew up on a farm in a close-knit family and became involved at a young age in the Christian student movement that is now Cru.

    Episode Summary -

Just because someone has been in the workplace for many years, it doesn’t mean they are a good leader. Even getting a promotion doesn’t necessarily make them an excellent leader.
In order to become a great leader, you need to acquire good leadership skills; leadership is not about just delegating tasks. A good leader impacts their company’s performance as a whole by expertly encouraging their team to perform at their optimum strength.

A good leader knows how to value and motivate every team member to be their best. That ensures employees who are happy, productive, and well connected with the company’s objective.

In this episode, Bob Tiede shares some valuable tips on how you can develop your leadership skills by asking better questions.

“A good leader knows the strengths of every team member.”
