Vibrations (w/Galen Howard) Mar 30, 2023

Show notes

A very special time(s) of the year - there's five Thursdays this month and therefore, it's time for a Small-Screen Shameful... and boy howdy, is this one ever something. The guys are joined by Galen Howard to break down the 1994/1996 film Vibrations. It's the timeless tale of a man losing his hands when his car is attacked via pneumatic drill by some hicks, which causes him to become a homeless alcoholic before rehabilitating himself with robot hands and embarking on a techno music career. The guys also talk about how flimsy the passage of time is in the movie, all the copaganda, unrealistic "teenager" dialogue, after-school special moments, Rube Goldberg revenge schemes and much more.

Next week: The tournament winner!

The Chase (w/Britany Sparrow) Mar 09, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys welcome back Britany Sparrow to help discuss the inane "satirical" hijinx of 1994's The Chase starring Charlie Sheen. How accurate is this baseline satire of the media? Why does Henry Rollins play an aggro police officer? Does the score undercut the tone of the film at least in the opinion of 2/3 of this episode? Should Butterfinger have gotten its own acting credit? And what in the hell are the Red Hot Chili Peppers doing here? All this and more!

Next week: March to Wrestlemania begins with the return of Mr. Renjamin Harlin.

Adventures in Dinosaur City Mar 02, 2023

Show notes

Somehow this week's episode is not a Small-Screen Shameful (hooray for limited France releases!) but alas, the guys talk about the Saturday morning-level quality of Adventures in Dinosaur City. They discuss a multitude of topics including how horny the movie is with the plethora of sexual innuendo and dinosaur prostitutes, cartoon anachronisms, unnecessary backstories for forgettable characters, the missed opportunity of not making this mostly a cartoon and much more.

Next week: this movie's got some real Sheen.

Taking on their third slice of Breen, the guys welcome back Mariah Lirette to talk about his debut feature Double Down. The General's Daughter Feb 09, 2023

Show notes

Back to the usual crap this week as the guys talk through the 90s thriller The General's Daughter starring John Travolta. Ah yes, a staple of the 90s: very heavy subject matter combined with "hilarious" quips. The guys also discuss the movie teasing you with a wild Travolta accent, every line in the movie being treated like the most important moment in cinema, the post-ending title cards, one of the lamest villain reveals this side of Scream 2 and much more.

Next week: Mariah picks a movie by a filmmaker we all know and love.
